@@3434abab 😂old lady’s garage, it’s pretty clean and there’s no rust on the paint but I just noticed some when I changed the oil, pretty much everything on the bottom has a varying layer of rust But None of it is immediately causing any issues. It drives pretty smooth but I do think there’s some issues that my mechanic won’t tell me about. Acceleration can be jumpy and the engine sounds just slightly rumbly but it really could just be a crusty old bearing. Or a few. It’s honestly amazing it works as good as it does how little it was used.

The ones that teenagers drove that were of course driven much harder had fewer problems out of them. Don’t know any truth to it but I trust his opinion. He also said you have to drive it as you would a manual so when people would speed up and slowing down in parking lots the transmission would go from 1st to 2nd and back a lot and that would mess with them.

We had a 2003 Focus with the split port single overhead cam engine. Bought it at 100,000 miles. Only made it 3 years to 130,000 miles and dropped a valve seat. So we swapped in a used engine that lasted a year and also dropped a valve seat. If you want it to last get a rebuilt cylinder head by somebody that knows about the issue. Or better yet get the Ztec one with dual overhead cams

I just got my 2008 Focus back on the road. Roll up windows … no fob just a chipped key. I didn’t have to do brakes till after 100,000 miles. My interior and exterior mirror assemblies look just like that one too. Still blue metal flake . . . No rust.

We bought a brand new 2008 Ford focus it was a great car had over 200,000 miles got in a accident. The motor ran like a sewing machine and the transmission shifted like the day we got it. Never had any problems with it.

Had one and loved it. I chose the station wagon version because the chicks dig it. Ran like a top and I showed it no mercy. I only sold it because the bottom part of the seatbelt was anchored to the door. I seen a guy come out of his car in a crash from a similar design when I was a kid.

I've got an '05 Focus with 230k miles on it and it's still going. The only engine related issue I've had with it since I've owned it is the alternator died on me a few months back. If you can get past the constant vibration from the fault motor mounts, it's a great car.

I’ve driven my 2002 Ford focus since 2005. It is now 2024 and it’s still runs good with 230k. Scotty describe my car totally vibrates in pieces are falling off of it, but still drives me where I need to go I wouldn’t trust it going long distances on the highway, I need to look into Ford buying back the car though lol.

Though mine was in better shape than this one.

I have an '02 ZX3 bought new...1 transaxle replaced at 323,000 miles, now has over 432,000 on it - worst thing about these are inability to get rear wheels properly aligned (since new) even after complete rebuild of suspension, and the horrid rear brake drums ...I converted the whole system to 05 up front, SVT disc on the rear & have ZERO trouble since...and no rust since it's parked in garage which most early ones I see now have crusty rockers...always starts

Mine was my first car, it’s an 07 se hatchback. I swear it looks dang near new inside and out, she’s been my commuter since I was 17 (its only been 2+ years). She’s had no issues at all, although I replaced the transmission almost as soon as I got it with one that had 40k miles on it. She treats me well! I’ll be sad when I move on to something nicer here in a few months.

I’ve got a 2013. I had a lot less issues once they charged the tcm. I’m currently a little over 182,000 miles on it. When I got my last oil change (I was bad and didn’t get it changed until 8,000) they told me the oil was dirty but it wasn’t low. I’ve been running 5w20 high mileage since about 70,000 on it and it seems happy with it. Maybe when one of the wheels falls off it will be time to retire the car. But I currently get about 36mpg. Hard to argue with

My first ford was a 2003 ZTS 2.3L 4 cylinder automatic. Loved it and got rid of it at 280K with no issues. I was motivated to buy another Ford product so I bought a brand new 2018 F-150 XLT 5.0 L and regreted buying a Ford product. So many issues with it and with 50K miles and 5K dlls later, I traded in for a brand new 2024 Toyota Camry.

I have a 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback. I installed the lower transmission mount from the Electric Focus. It's solid rubber. Makes a huge difference for under a $100. Stay away from aftermarket mounts, including the engine mount and the transmission mount located under the battery box.
Also, you need to take all the paint off where the battery is grounded to the chassis. This helps to make sure everything is grounded correctly, include the transmission.
