US has wanted since the end of WW2 to control Russia so they can steal from her like they do every country they get control over. There is no right to anything. Nature only knows might makes right. The US considers it vital to take out Russia as a global competitor. That is all the reason they need. They word it in terms like the rights of the Ukrainians to defend themselves or self determination, but we all know that in Latin America no country has the right to leave the American sphere of influence either. It's about a global hegemon trying to maintain its position by DELETING a rival.

It’s all about oil, minerals and resources - the US want them, but Russia wants to utilise their resources for their own benefit, not those of US interests.
US has betrayed Europe, bullied and blackmailed other ‘allies’ into falling into line behind their doctrine. The BRICS+ meeting in Kazan should be interesting, as US interests are now firmly and clearly understood by the global South, who wish to have little to nothing to do with them. Watch the dollar topple, it’s only a matter of when, not ‘if’.

He keeps asking the same basic questions though and I know he does it so new people can catch up and can’t just pick up where many of us have been listening these kinds of interviews for years but Nima does these tks assuming we are all already well informed and up to date. I like that. I don’t need the judge to ask Ritter again ‘when do you think the war will be over?’, you know what I mean? Nima, this interview is a CZcams classic!
Prof. Hudson has the unique ability to view the economy from a truly macroeconomic level. He fully accounts for geopolitical motivation. I agree completely with Prof. Hudson's explanation linking the current genocide in Gaza to a US show-of-force and intimidation. The misery inflicted on the Palestinians is an example of what XYZ nation could face if it resists US imperialism. It is what the US did to Japan in 1945 dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Moreover, the US continues to colonize the EU, a project it has been pursuing for nearly 100 years. Within the past two years the US has deindustrialized Germany by creating a dependency for expensive US controlled natural gas imports resulting from the Nordstream pipeline destruction.
    Kudos to Prof. Hudson!

Which is why it's so awful how the bulk, if not all, of Russia's friends of the global majority will cynically/consciously comply. Time for some, China particularly, to show US they will not be cowed. 'We are the many, they are few' (Yes I know there is 'behind the scences help etc. but really is time for others to stop accepting US visits used to scold them and make Russia look so isolated.

Another incredibly informative podcast with the
    extremely knowledgeable Michael Hudson!
Thank you Nima for inviting Michael back
as a guest. His explanations allow us all
to fully grasp the complexities of what is
unfolding in the world today. His depth of
understanding from all the activities he has
been personally involved with on the global
stage, for many decades now, gives him
Insights into current events that few others
have. It really is amazing that no one in
positions of power in the West, have the
first clue as to what is going on with
regard to economics or finance! If they did,
    the misguided and misinformed policies
that have been snd continue to be
implemented by the U.S. and its client
states in Europe, would have been
altered for more practical and common
sense policies long ago. The U.S. and
Europe only know how to double down
on policy initiatives that have yet to
benefit them, either short term or long
term. Utterly amazing that they could
be so foolish as to continue promoting
    things that haven’t yielded anything
    positive for them yet!
Thank you Nima for again having
Michael Hudson back on as a

Ammo shortage is the western story, the weakness now showing in Russian advances is purely due to manpower shortage especially within the artillery groups due specific Russian targeting of those artillery guns and the crews who typically are kill as a result.
Like Mr Hudson says 80-85% of the money will stay, as much of the money in past has, the only money getting through pays government salaries, perhaps reduced pension, repairs and maintenance.

I was in Berlin in Dec89. The Wall was coming down and all over Europe there was a great sense of relief. Perhaps the only people that were worried were the Joint Chiefs at the Pentagon.
Gentlemen... A common response in the US is, “Well Russia (Putin) really shouldn't have invaded”
My comment is, “What if he didn't?”
My guess is that Ukraine would have joined NATO, Russia's lease for the naval base at Sevastopol would have been suspended, missile bases would have been placed at the Eastern border and Putin would have been replaced. NATO would have control of the Black Sea leaving Russia, a nuclear armed adversary, vulnerable and exposed. Is this what you want?
Once bases were installed, it would have been too late.
For the military planers who conceived of this plan, “How do you sleep at night?”
