- I keep a collection of lists on my google docs, one of them is a list of hidden features in Football Manager, when I stumble upon one I add it to the list. Well, guess what! That list got all filled up this past week. Time to get down to hidden feature business. There are always some helpful bits in here, as FM adds so much to its game that flies under the radar it can be hard to make proper use of it all. We all ignore random stuff that would help while playing Football Manager, I’ll keep crusading against it.
As you would expect there are tips and tricks for scouting, transfers, and the pesky team morale that has made FM22 in particular so challenging. You have to be able to keep those wonderkids happy or they won’t be the difference-maker they can be. I also know that this list is a perfect opportunity to try to find as many as you can that you already know. That’s cool, if you already know all of these things I owe you a free milkshake if I ever run into you. It’s the right thing to do.

Very simple tip:
Nickname your Scouts to add their Judging player ability (JPA) and Judging player potential (JPP) to their name
That way if a report comes back on a scouted player, you’ll be able to see if the scout is credible or not
Or you can go to scouting tab and see at the reports on the top right of the report.
I prefer to put in brackets a region that they’re stronger in, so I know who is best placed to scout easily.
#4 Not allowing a player the chance to complete a hat-trick is morally reprehensible. Even if they're the GK. Shame.
true but i feel like it gives the option to change before they take it too(unless im remembering wrong) so no point to turn it off anyway
@@BkGingy There is a popup to change the player, you are correct, but in the heat of a penalty incident that can easily be overlooked.
Another thing that I think not many people know about
When You choose Training and move to Groups, You can add players from u18 u23/B-team to the training with 1st squad without moving them up. I don't know how well that works if it comes to the training itself, but I think it might be useful for someone :D Have a great day/evening/night!

This helps them as in training with your coaches, using your training facilities instead of the youth ones

@@zaphodlucs Youth facilties are only used for the academy players, aka youth intakes, u18 and up use the normal training facilities. Therefore the only advantage would be to use the first team coaches.

I'm just gonna say this before the video starts.. In tactics if you click on the player tab and then click on a position, higher up the pitch, on the the new tab that opens, down, you have the option to switch position during the game.
Basically you can select two players that will switch position a couple of times a match. I've done it with wingers and they switch position about 5-6 times a match. It also works with strikers and middlefielders but not with defenders.
Any idea how to make this players switching thing work? For the life of me every time I do it with my wingers I end up getting some pretty terrible performances
Is this effective in the long run? I once changed my inverted wingers to wingers and made my formation narrower, it worked amazingly, but only for two games, then i had to change it back again.
One of the biggest things I found is you can go
World>Transfers>Youth intake and you can see every youth intake across the world for each year. And you can filter by nation. Great way to find regens from each year, can be very time consuming.

You can see why a player has reacted in a certain way to your pep talk interaction by hoovering the mouse over their reaction (the box that says stuff like “seemed motivated”).

Regarding transfer rumors.
Transfer rumors are as much a "real world feature" as it is a tool to help us, since the rumored value, quite often is precise or close too the value a club wants to sell for. Naturally, it can be way off, but it can be a usefull indicate if an interesting player pops up with a low estimate price - then go for it.
I think the one-on-one communications you refer to actually take place in the dressing droom in front of everyone else. Hence the reason why other players can react to that as well if they agree or disagree with your assessment.
Would be quite complicated in real life as well to be able to take multiple players apart and talk to them, the team, the media… in those short amounts of time. In sharp contrast to your time at the club where you can invite anyone to your desk and have actual private conversations.

Here’s one that has always stumped me bc I am too lazy to actually track the data: if I send my team to training camp overseas and do a community outreach sesh as part of training while abroad, does that help grow fan base, generate more kit sales, etc.?

When losing, I always pep talk in halftime (room-scold them) then individually say i believe in you or impress me to all of them. This makes them be in green mood.
Hey zealand I just love your content. How about some vids on how to grow your club fanbase? I'm guessing there's a lot more than just winning games to grow.
There's really not. Increase your stadium size, sign high reputation players, get affiliates from other countries, etc. - but ultimately, winning more is the primary way.
Is there a way to set up a new destination for the hotkeys or is it just the list that is already in the game that can be altered? Like can I add a hotkey to a specific team/league if I want to?
Regarding pep talk, pre-match I usually follow asst coach recommendation. At half-time if players played well, I go with cautious "not like performarce"; on the opposite, if they played poorly I go with angry "not like performance". Full time similar: if played well I go with "good job everyone"; if played poorly I go with angry "not like performance"
That's a thing I learned in FM like 18 or something, and it 99% of times work really well. Avoiding mistakes and be cocky if being up 2-0/1-0 at half-time, increasing performance and morale, and this sort of stuff
Zealand, Please: We need a video about how you PC specs influence the number of players the game can process. I'm in the market for a new PC and I want to know what I need to prioritize: Is it RAM? Is it processor speed? What will make the game run ok with many leagues and players?

I've had some players (mostly good rated ones) be demotivated by me praising other player, probably because they felt they deserved praising too. When I praised them as well, they were happy again

On my save with Coruna, I am in 6th season and had a transfer budget in the top flight of £6mill. I then went into the game the next day and I had £100million. It is kinda ruining my fun of the game, as I now have all this additional money & no idea where it came from. Does anyone know what happened? This happened in like late January, so it wasn't done at a time when budgets are usually altered.
The board may throw you more money for transfer, it happens sometimes

For European comps if they are under 21 they have to be at club for 2 seasons otherwise they can't play in Europe despite being under 21
They can play, they just don’t get to play in Europe without taking up a registration spot.
@@daviebananas1735 yes I know that, in the video he said you don't need to worry about registering under 21s and I was pointing out that if they aren't registered and not at the club long enough they can't play if unregistered!

Detail Level: most people don't know all this does is make match reports for games available to you to look at, which it slows down processing to make available. So for example, if you're playing in the non-league, how interested in match reports for internationals and continental club football are you going to be? I always at least remove detail from internationals to make those breaks go as fast as they can to get to my next fixture.

I knew about the penalty thing but what I would also like is an option that says if a player has missed a lot of recent penalties then don’t let them take them for a while (automated not manual), the amount of times I have a theoretically good penalty taker (good stats where needed) who just goes through a spell of being completely unable to score them is infuriating
I always look up to the club that recently have been relegated and searching up their best player, sometime you can get them with a bargain price, of course your club need to be in top flight league to attract the player you want
These have to only apply to players that don't actually spend a few minutes and click on different screens in FM. I suspect many people just smash spacebar continuously, so probably will apply to a lot.

As much as I love this guy, half this stuff is unavailable on console editions. Console players need a console only YT channel! We’re so restricted to what we can do and achieve!
Probably easier to just get it on PC. If someone plays FM they are looking for depth, why play the game without half the depth/features.
