Injuries have really burst onto the scene in FM22. I have covered where injuries come from in a past video, but with the incredible consistency of major injuries in the new Football Manager now feels like the right time to go over every way to prevent injuries in FM. Like the youth intake video where it’s 51% luck, you will still get injuries in FM even if you follow everything in this guide to the letter, I ask that you take out your anger at a nearby pillow, or perhaps a nice scream into the night air.
Those are typically what I do on stream so I figured they would help you cope with the untimely demise of one of your players. But, those little muscle injuries from training in FM, or the tracking of wear and tear amongst the squad can help you keep a balanced, fit team together through tough stretches of the season, and prevent the preventable catastrophic injuries from derailing your promising save.
    Much Love,
    FM Senpai

I love injury crises. They make me tons of money. I use injuries as an opportunity to play youth players. They play for a while and if they play well, I get that gorgeous green WNT note on them, telling me that someone like PSG or Man City or Man UFC is interested in signing them. And often, the kid is dumb enough to want to go so I structure the best possible deal and sell 'em. They then spend the rest of their contract in the U23 or B team at the "bigger club" and I go out and buy a bunch more youth players. That's been more lucrative for me than a knockout round Champions League run would've been. Roughly $206m in incoming transfer fees in just under 3 seasons (last month of the 3rd season).

Good one! I like to put in bench every game some young players with potential, and give minutes in game to him. In Pogon Sczeric (Poland), i have 1 young player in first XI, and Porto Wants him (Kacper Koslowski), and i have a winger who every game enters in the pitch in the bench and play the second time (Fornalkzic), and the 2 players are desenvolving much good. I had a player out for 4 weeks due a fractured toe caused by kicking a ball during training. One of the unexplored areas it seems for FM youtubers is this area, does the physio role recover players from injury while the sport scientist role prevents them? How much difference does a 20 physio make over a 15 physio? If SI start to recognise the benefit of youtubers and twitchers, perhaps Zealand and others can get a bit more access to the devs on how it's intended to work.

I really dislike the slight color shift on the fitness heart. I think it's an ok idea but holy crap is it a terrible idea for colorblind people or poor vision. Even a slightly crappy monitor will screw with you being able to see that change, bouncing between my two monitors (one is vastly superior to the other) it can become almost impossible to tell the difference. It would be a better idea if their color gradient for it wasn't so minute in its changes.

The problem for me isn't so much that players get injured, it's the balance between rotating players, happiness and injury. Because if you have busy schedule(I had 6 matches in 2 week once!), you pretty much have to rotate your entire squad. If you do that however, your important players will get angry that they don't get played enough after a while.

Goalies thankfully i never found that difficult to do given how rarely they injure themselves plus they never tire out. I usually just have one goalie in the team and if he hits an injury, which rarely last longer than 2-3 matches and happens once a season if at all, i just call up an u19 goalie for that time and pray that no important matches are coming up. With goalies being as cheap a they are i rarely feel it's worth it to train up a young one unless they came out of my u19 team looking like the Donnarumma. I'd rather just spend a bit and then not have to worry about having to nurse a sub-par goalie for years to come.

When I have a team with low match load, but have a squad size prepared for a high match load, I tend to put friendlies for a stretch 2 days after the official match. 1 to get more match sharpness and 2 so close after the previous match so that the assistant has to use the players who aren't tired, and 3 so that they're more ready to play by next week's match. I like having everyone match fit.

You have made me a MUCH better FM player over the last two years or so. Small details like rotating the team, how to keep the team morale up, picking staff with determination, using the scouting to my advantage and stuff like that has made alot of difference in my saves over the last couple of years. This game is about more than game days and twerking the tactics, you have pointed that out and now it shows IRL on my screen. Especially in comparison with a few years back when my saves was alot more random. And for that, I thank you. :)

I use ‘Set pieces’ training to place a lighter load during congested matches. I have also noticed good feedback after/during matches from Ass man saying “blah blah set pieces has paid off” or “I think we should playfor set pieces as we are creating chances”. If you look at the bottom bar of each days training you can see how heavy it is. Tone it down or ramp it up depending on time of season/matches etc. Recovery is a great tool.

Have they fixed the "Arrange a friendly if no match during the week"? For many versions of FM that didn't seem to work for me. My staff would ignore it and sometmes I'd be so focused on what the first team was doing that I wasn't paying attention to the reserve/U23/U18 teams very much. But then when I would look at those guys they'd all be lacking match sharpness because they hadn't played and the staff wasn't arranging friendlies even though I told them to. This was especially annoying if one of those teams wasn't enrolled in a league. So they'd have no schedule and either I'd have to loan all the players out, or I'd have to manually arrange friendlies for that team every week. Of course if I loaned everyone out, I didn't have access to them in most cases if I needed them, and I'd get accused of "hoarding" players by the media.

Zealand, could you please help me with this matter ? I've found no information on Internet about that :
In my first season with St Pauli in Bundesliga 2, I have no matches scheduled for my second team St Pauli II. This is probably cuz they're in a low division that is not included in my FM save, despite I've put every division for Germany.
Problem is I can NOT put them to play friendlies because I do not have any power of decision on that, even when I try to change it in the responsabilities section. After looking into details, I've found out that this is probably because they are an affiliated club and not directly under my management.
Is there something I can do to solve this ?
Maybe in my second season, if I do good, they'll allow me to control the affiliated club or something by renegotiating the deal with them ? Or am I stuck with no second team matches forever ?

I tought i could drop this gem fact since it greatly reduces injury and does not impact player development, since if your players are not full condition is because they played.

I hate that it counts toward having played a game no matter how long they'd been on the pitch. Subbed on in the 88'? Counted as if he'd played the whole game. Why not have a minutes played system? Like this I sometimes cannot bring subs on in certain games if my schedule is busy or risk having my whole team being highly susceptible to injury just because someone played 10 min in a match.
I try my best to avoid injuries and am mostly at around 50-60% less injuries than expected during a season but this sometimes makes me mad.

Zealand complaining about a 3 week stretch with 2 matches a week, and i'm here sitting in ireland with their league, 4 cups (where you better not draw because some cups have rematch rules), the opening season trophy, then end of the year 2 match trophy against the northern irish champion and then champions league stuff in my case. Where 2 matches a week is the norm and then it goes up to stretches of up to 2-3 weeks with a match every other day.
There should be an option where you can convince the board that you can stop participating in some cups. Bloody hell the 15k for winning some pissy EA cup isn't exactly going to make waves for us here with a multi-million payroll. The loss of one of our top players for a week is probably costing us more in a loss of wages than we win through most of these cup competitions.
Upside to it, at least it's easy to give all those youngsters a good amount of playing time, so that's nice.

To be honest I am sick of getting fucked over by the ai and end of season fixtures congestion. Grand if your in the bigger leagues, you may be able to manage it and plan ahead. But in the smaller leagues the budget doesn't stretch that far. Seriously it is the tipping point for buying this version or the next fm. The ai should at least give you a 2 day break from games. The ai must be able to reschedule games better or allow you to manager to request change of dates etc. I be more calm about it if it was taken into your fans match performance and monthly board review "ah well we disappointed you lost but realise you had a lot of games. Seriously I sick of being fucked over for being successful in the game
