    Yes! I LOVE using the large diffuser. It's my go-to, and I've learned how to use it in several different ways!

      Gah...I love hearing that. It seriously is the best. Easy to use and versatile for many other forms of light manipulation. 👏 👏 👏

    Love the strip soft box inspiration! I have one but it is so big to store and a hassle to put together. I'm now inspired to rotate it at different angles to get different looks, thanks Rachel! I mostly use my 2'x2' soft box for almost all of my photography.

      Ahh! I am so pleased. It's so underrated and I totally agree. It is a hassle to setup etc and I usually leave mine setup, taking up space on a top shelf. That way I use it more. I'd love to see what you create with it.

    Hello Rachel. I finally purchased a strip box 30X120 (your favorite)!!!! I was confused with all the different sizes of modifiers. So glad that i found your video. Its such a great help🤩🤩
    I love un all around gear. I live in a small house, so this one is easier to store. I am sure it's a good choice. Thanks for all your advise. 🙏🙏

      Yay! I am excited to hear this. Super glad that it was useful for you, as I also found it very confusing when I first started out. I can't wait to see what you do with the strip box. Hope it brings you a lot of creativity.

    I love the Elinchrom Indirect 150cm, Profoto RFI 2x3' with and without grid and Scrim Jim kit for my work. I like to shoot a variety of styles but do lean toward the soft light for Commercial work. BTW, I've used Cinefoil to mask of a soft box for a little different lighting effect.

      They are such a great brand! I love that idea, we have a roll of that and I don't use it often enough. Thanks for sharing :)

    I haven't touched my strip softbox in probably close to a year, but this video made me want to get it out again to play around! It was helpful to see the photos you created with each modifier. I also think I place my modifiers too close to the scene at times and don't give the light an opportunity to spread.

    • @Twolovesstudio
      @Twolovesstudio  Před 2 lety

      Hey Niki! I always love chatting with you and I am so happy to hear that this has inspired you to use it. I wanted to add some bts photos but I lost everything from my iPhone so that's a lesson in itself. I think they are very versatile, more versatile than I gave them credit for at the start.

      I love that! Yes, that setup has totally saved and I love it. I am glad you do too. Space is an issue with artificial light, but I still use my strip box in smaller spaces. Definitely if you find you have more space - try it! I'd love to hear what you think x

      @@Twolovesstudio I have soft box like what you don't like in the other video of modifiers you made 😂
      And I also don't like it
      I have the same stribe box and 5 in 1 reflector
      But when I shoot with soft box in brings very soft light which I don't like
      Makes food Very soft and looks bad
      I dunno why specially on white background
      I love the other 2 same as You
      I bought them after your advice

      Oh good point! I love the idea of using the large Octa for an outdoor shoot. I'll have to definitely keep that in mind.

    How do you create moody light with the 4x 6 as that seems very large and would throw light everywhere. Also thank you for this well presented walk through. Very helpful x

    • @Twolovesstudio
      @Twolovesstudio  Před rokem

      Good question Sophie! I would block light using modifiers like foam boards etc. You can watch me do that in this video where I use this setup: czcams.com/video/pN53aLPN9Lc/video.html.
      Of course, there are many ways of creating light, but what I like about this is that I can really have a lot of light to work with and then take it away in the same setup without having to redo the entire thing.

    I have a standard soft box, but I don’t have a lot of space, so setting it up is a real pain. I really like the idea of using a diffuser! It might be a better solution for me. PS. LOVED the b-roll! 🤗

    • @Twolovesstudio
      @Twolovesstudio  Před 2 lety +1

      Haha thanks Susana, we were just mucking around having fun - so it is a little silly but glad you liked it. Yes absolutely! If you haven't watched my video with my lighting setup for the diffuser, make sure to. I show how easy it is in a small space: czcams.com/video/pN53aLPN9Lc/video.html Enjoy X

  • @thekitchenbymicole
    @thekitchenbymicole Před 2 lety

    Ahh I love all of these. Similar to your favorite I use a roll of diffusion paper that is just *Chefs kiss*. I am going to shoot in a restaurant soon, and I've usually relied on natural light. Wondering how you think the little speedlight diffuser would hold up for that situation?!

    • @Twolovesstudio
      @Twolovesstudio  Před 2 lety +1

      I love that idea too! I'd definitely try it but take a back up option just in case. I think it's good for where you're after really moody shots with a bit of punch. So it depends on how much atmosphere they'd want. Let me know if you do end up using it.

    I have a terrible light mostly here in Germany. And it is quite hard to strick yourself by daylight especially in the winter which means 10 months of the year🙄 so I need a light which mimics day light. Which one would you recommend if you would pick one of the above?

    • @Twolovesstudio
      @Twolovesstudio  Před 2 lety +2

      I feel you! I would recommend the large diffuser. That is incredible and re-creating daylight. You can see how I use it in this video too: czcams.com/video/pN53aLPN9Lc/video.html
