    Are there split room pressure considerations when adding a mini split to an already conditioned house?
    You figure mini split is 100pct of the air that comes from the return goes to the supply, but maybe i am missing something?

    I have a 2500 sqft shed with 14ft sidewalls and spray foam. Similar to the one in your video. Looking to cool it a few times a year for meetings with 40-70 people. What would your btu/ton recommendation be in that situation? Thanks

    I have a 930 sf metal garage with 12' walls. I installed a radiant barrier directly over the frame rails. This gives me a 2.5” air gap on the walls and a little more of an air gap on the ceiling. I then screwed 2” foam. board over the radiant barrier. I believe the foam board has a R 7.5 value.
    What size mini split would I need? Id be happy to maintain 75-80 degrees.

    I have a 1000 sqft pole barn that's going to be insulated with 5 in closed cell on the walls and 3 in on the roof. Using the space for wood working, but I'm not sure I even need a minisplit - whats your advice? Just looking for a constant temp that isn't too uncomfortable.

    Why wouldn’t I use a manual j to loads for all installs and use the manufactures design system software

    • @TaddyDigest

      Always use manual J
      The only exception would be if , And I say if manual J cannot give you an accurate Load calculation on a very specific project So therefore always use manual J

      You will figure it out

    I've got a 2.25 ton MrCool dual zone sitting on a pallet about to be installed in a 960 Sq ft closed cell foam garage, but after seeing your video I think I may be way oversized. Should I exchange it for a 1 ton since I'm still in the return period? What kinds of issues or benefits would come from using the 2.25 ton dual zone? Wish I'd have seen your video earlier.

    Thank you for making this video! Question for you though. I am building a 1500 sq ft, 3 bedroom barndo with open cell spray foam and an open kitchen/dining/living area. Based on what you said in the video, it looks like I would need a 1.5 ton unit (1 ton/1000 sq/ft in spray foam house). It's a 30x50 footprint as well and all three bedrooms span the 50 foot length and kitchen/dining/living take up about 2/3rd's of the other side. What would you recommend for this setup? Thanks!

    • @TaddyDigest
      @TaddyDigest  Před 2 lety +1

      I would do multizone mini split and go ahead and install a 3 ton outdoor unit with a few heads inside
      or if it's all mostly open I would do a 2 ton 360 ceiling cassettes somewhere in the middle

      @@TaddyDigest I watched this video. Those are pretty cool! Also cool that you are into aquaponics. It's on my list for the homestead. Oh, how would you compare the Samsung's to the Mitsubishi's, CH and MrCool units? I am definitely familiar with the Mitsubishi's. They used those to heat and cool our wood huts and conex housing when I was in Afghanistan. I figured if anything could last in that environment, they must be good! lol

    Thinking of using two 3.5 to 4 Ton wall hang units in a 5000 sq ft metal building. Will be closed cell foamed. Not any windows but has three insulated garage doors. 1200 sq ft of the space will be independently heated/cooled. So really about 4000 sq ft in play. Will this work?
    Was that airplane hanger closed cell or open cell?

    • @JimN_AustinTx

      Looking at availability may need to use two air handlers per outdoor unit. Any advantage/disadvantage to having multiple air handlers for common open space?

    • @TaddyDigest

      I don't remember I may have said what it was in the video though

    • @TaddyDigest
      @TaddyDigest  Před 2 lety

      Using more air handlers will cost more but at the same time you get the advantage of having more Air flow which will lead to more comfort and also oh less of a chance of having mold

    • @TaddyDigest
      @TaddyDigest  Před 2 lety

      I would go with the 2 t unit 24K
      If there's no insulation in there then that's where the 36K would be great
      But with spray foam do the 2K
      Unless it's a grow facility

    Hi Tad, got a 1500 sq ft shop, with about 3.5" of open cell on walls and 5" of open cell on ceiling (in central Texas), but average 14 ft walls and large garage doors (a 14x14, a 10x10, and a 16x8 that are all insulated at about R-10 per mfg). Per your video, I think I can get away with a 2 ton, but want to make sure due to high ceilings and all the doors. I like the 2 ton because it's higher 20.5 seer, and hoping that works (Cooper and Hunter Sophia series). Your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
