- The first act from Poulenc's 1956 opera, Dialogues des Carmelites. The recording is Faggiani's 2017 performance of the piece in Brussels. The vocal score I could find did not have the orchestral interludes between scenes, so this video omits them.
The story centers around Blanche, a Parisian during the French revolution. The Metropolitan Opera has a fantastic summary of the events within each scene and act: www.metopera.org/user-informa....

That's appropriate: Stravinsky was a huge influence on Poulenc. You can found it throughout his music.
