    I was happy when i saw this video is 24 minutes long but it ended so quickly. Glad to see it's still perfectly good to rebuild.

      Bekir Karakulak 24 minutes of video took 2 hours to process on my computer then took youtube 4 hours to process after uploading. Now you see why most videos of mine are only a few minutes long. Even that takes ages 😂

    I used the exactly same manual(precision machinery) to rebuild mine 4 years ago. I was happy to find it online for free 😄

    I really appreciate the time that you take to post these videos of your builds. They have helped me massively with me C126 restoration. And with regards to people saying "you done this or you done that wrong" ignore them, you do you and you do it well. Everyone is a master mechanic from behind a computer screen it seems. Regards from the UK ;)

    I once tried to rebuild my spare 280 SE W126 fuel distributor and I sort of underestimated the job... I split the unit apart by gently pushing a thin screwdriver around which caused a minor dent on one of the chambers and I somehow managed to break one of my ceramic plates. I put it back together just wondering what would happen and installed it into my car and as soon as I jumped the fuel pump relay the distributor would just scream. I sold the car with the working unit, now I have my old distributor laying around and no use for it. It seems difficult to find people in germany who are interested in spare parts for these.

      Phil J. Meyer absolutely essential to have a good read of these manuals before hand - it specifically forbids using a screwdriver to separate the halves for this reason.

    Those Salvox rebuild kits are stupid expensive considering much of the kit is cheaply available orings but despite the high cost they don't include the central filter. Do you know where replacement filters can be obtained?

    Awesome video I know what I’m doing next!, I get the point of the reseal of the diaphragms and what nots, What is the symptom when one cylinders is way out of adjustment

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  Před 4 lety +3

      1995bulldog if one cylinder is badly enough out of adjustment you can literally hydro lock the engine and bend a connecting rod. This exact thing happened to a 6.9 in perth where the owner fiddled with something he didn’t quite understand. K-jetronic has no issues delivering a ton of fuel. Obviously if its too lean that cylinder will misfire etc. it is possible to balance the system with graduated flasks but i have never done this.

    • @sompka1
      @sompka1 Před 5 dny

      @@MMWA-DAVE It can cause a rich misfire as well and uneven running. Jump the fuel relay and press the plate gently with all the lines off the distributor. See if one is welling up faster than the others. You can get in the ball park this way but you need to measure more volume/time to be precise. Mine was misfiring on accel, turns out #4 was fouling. Found when iremoved fuel lines off dist. i had fuel welling up in #4 port. Rebuilt distributor based on the precision machinery kit and problem solved. Going to do this test going forward on all cis cars I work on with fuel issues or roughness.

    Hi sir. I have a question. Currently been working on a 190e with m102. It has a problem after engine warm up phase, the engine will dies off and unable to start. Need to throttle to keep it alive. Is it because of a bad fuel divider sir?

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  Před 3 lety

      Have you tested the oxygen sensor? Another possibility, it may be running only with the cold start enrichment due to a major vacuum leak and when at operating temperature its too lean. You can also unplug the EHA valve and see if the engine runs while hot to see if its ecu causing it due to some other electrical issue or failed sensor.

    Peace be upon you, I have a problem with the Mercedes W201 2.5 when changing the engine oil, it changes color in 40 km from black to black

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  Před 4 lety +2

      Bamou Rachid 2.5 litre in the 201 can be diesel or gasoline so im not sure what engine you speak of. You may just need to use an engine oil with more detergents. Back when i had my 6.9 i used to not like the oil going black so quickly so ended up running GTX diesel oil which solved the issue. Diesel oil in a gasoline engine can dislodge carbon deposits and cause catastrophic failure so its a risky business on a carboned up engine. Note that modern diesel oils are more suited to modern diesels with different/ less additives. Old diesels are better with old school diesel oil from back when they were current.

    • @bamourachid2512
      @bamourachid2512 Před 4 lety

      The diesel engine stadium and change the oil 15w40 and 10w40 and the oil does not decrease and there is no smoke the problem is the color change quickly

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  Před 4 lety

      Bamou Rachid interesting. If no smoke and no consumption you have a healthy engine. I’d not be too concerned about it getting dark. I’d just be changing it every 5000km. I think its pretty normal for diesels to get dark oil quickly.
