This is a coordinated attack on the west. The enemies of Israel, Europe, and America are seeking to overthrow democracy and the rules based global order. It's no coincidence that the rise in far-left and far-right populism in the US is coinciding with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the resurgence of global terrorism and Islamic extremism. There are a lot of people in the world who hate progress and hate the West because they are jealous of our freedom and prosperity and our respect and tolerance for people of all races, religions, and backgrounds. They don't want to live in a world where the Jewish community or the LGBT community are safe to live as they want. Whether it's Putin, Hamas, or Trump, they're all committed to the same goal, which is returning to a backwards, hateful, and primitive society in which the most vulnerable people - in this instance the Jewish people - are no longer safe to live as they want to.
Israel was presented with a proposal crafted by Qatar, Egypt and Hamas with no agreement or input from Israel. Hamas then publicly announced acceptance of this fictitious agreement. Since the proposal didn’t meet the criteria stipulated by Israel it was null and void.
It’s not up to Hamas and its supporters to dictate to Israel what Israel will accept.
The whole thing was performative theater to attempt to slow down the Rafah movement.
