I still remember back in 2001 me and my dad taking the truck offroad through the woods where the 55 bypass is now in front of Walmart. Even in 2006 I could ride my skateboard down the middle of the highway at 11pm and never see a car

this really makes me wish I was able to buy back in the day when me and my wife really wanted to live in Fuquay/Holly Springs because seeing the prices now are just ridiculous
Hindsight is always 20/20 unfortunately. The good news is there are other towns that are similar to holly springs when it was cheaper. I would look into Wendell, Clayton and Sanford.
Oh and Knightdale as well! Maybe wake forest although that is pricier but not as high as HS yet. Rolesville and Youngsville are also great options that are growing!
I hate coming to Holly Springs. Traffic is awful. Drive thrus are a pain. Houses are packed together.
It's like an overcrowded glossy city looking like it is great, but living in it is a real annoyance
Traffic is only bad at rush hour. Other than that it’s not a big deal at all. And it’s also only certain roads

Holly springs seems to be maintaining competitiveness more than most other towns, even Cary. At least based on redfins “hotness” score. I think 540 will actually help. It will make commuting even easier and will bring more development.

It’s definitely getting up there!! There are other cheap places that offer what we had 20 years ago though.
Last week I came down to Cary from Michigan. I visited FV, HS, APEX and Cary. I feel prices in FV, HS are closer to APEX and Cary. I feel I have to wait.
There really isn’t much to choose from right now and new for structuring prices are certainly higher than existing. I can understand waiting, although most economists aren’t expecting this area to get cheaper.

And as a resident of HS, no. It isn’t worth buying here right now. I’d wait till they suss out the razing of trees. There’s such a focus on “progress” at the expense of nature and wildlife that our home has gotten much louder. Wildlife has become sparse. Really sad that they plan for anything that lines a pocket and nothing that saves the life of an animal or a tree
