This is absolutely a great video with lots of information comparing both towns. I'm from NY and i'm on the fence choosing one over the other with moving my family to either. absolutely one of the most informative well done videos pertaining to the triangle communities i have ever seen. my family and extended family are fleeing the northeast and was looking for a wonderful small town feel to settle in with good schools and a cute town center. I think Holly Springs may be the choice! God Bless you.

Looking to move from Midwest to a less harsher weather area.
I moved to Cary, from Waukesha, WI, a year and a half ago. LOVE IT HERE.
What's strange is I'm closer to Morrisville than I am to the center of Cary, but I'm still counted in Cary. Cary basically wraps around Morrisville
Cary’s borders are all kinds of crazy!! And Morrisville is such a small area that it really feels like part of Cary.
Harris Lake is in New Hill, right? New Hill is closer to Apex. Apex Fire Station #2 is right next to Harris Lake. Just thinking you may have meant Apex. I don't consider HS to be Harris Lake.
Harris Lake is just west of Holly Springs in Wake and Chatham counties. Jordan Lake is just west of Apex. Apex Fire station #2 is just north of Harris Lake and just south of Jordan, almost equidistant between the two. Hope that helps!
Thank you for the excellent video. I am looking for a place to retire, would you recommend Cary, Holly Springs, or Apex? I love to live close to the nature and have access to farm markets and of course medical facilities, etc.

Honestly all three towns are very nice! Cary is the only one that has a hospital but apex and holly springs are not a far drive from the hospital which is in southern Cary.
I have the same question about where to retire. Thank you for the additional info about hospitals. What about the home - is new construction still available? Excellent video!
@@user-px5ru8ft7k there is new construction available in both cities. Prices for new construction in Holly Springs starts around 300k and the median is about 450k. In Cary it starts around 325k and median is around 575k. Lower end of the range in both cities gets you a townhome.

Any recommendation where to buy 3acre plus properties close to commuter towns to offer dog businesses? And which area would be best for horseowners?
In the Triangle area the best places to find acreage for horses is going to be Chatham County/Western Apex, Pittsboro, etc. You can also find larger lots up in the Wake Forest/ Falls Lake area. Has the sports complex in Cary been halted because of Covid? Or still on the way?
That situation has changed so many times I am almost afraid to give an update!! The most recent news is that the site was purchased by Epic Games as their headquarters and will no longer be a sports complex.
@@EllenPitts This is interesting. One of our sons is “a gamer” and makes a decent living from it. We’re old so we don’t really get it but we’re happy for him.😄
My oldest son is going to school for game design. I was actually surprised to learn that video games are really just like interactive movies. I hadn’t thought of it that way, but he’s a writer and artist. Gaming culture combines artistic skills with tech skills and I’m just thankful it’s a way creatives can make a living! 😊 But yeah I’m also too old to really get it. 😂
@@EllenPitts That’s great! It’s awesome that there are more ways to monetize creativity these days, especially for artistically-minded people. When we asked our son, “Why would people pay to watch you play video games?” he replied, “It’s entertainment.”. That helped us wrap our heads around it a little better. 😃

i live in holly springs and it is soooooo nice and everyone basically knows everyone. i will warn you though, it is very hard to get a house at this time of the year and this time in general because of the demand to move here

Do lakes around the area have gators?
Nope!! It's hard to get used to if you're from Florida, but they really don't. We DO have snakes though. Lakes are pretty safe but I have seen lots of snakes gathered around little creeks so you just have to keep your eyes open.

Well we do get occasional hurricanes in this area, but the damage is minimal..at least compared to where I grew up in Florida. But as for affordable, in the Raleigh area I would recommend Knightdale. Why are you comparing Raleigh to Huntsville and Knoxville when they aren't even half the size of Raleigh? Raleigh's way beyond their league.
Because I wanted smaller southern cities and Atlanta is too big. What southern city do you think is most like Raleigh? Maybe Richmond?

Most everywhere in the Triangle is purple. There is a good mix of different kinds of people.
I hate Cary. Its a mess haha. Holly Springs inst bad.

@@EllenPitts hate was probably a strong word for it but I did dislike my visit. Way overcrowded and a little boring. I guess I had higher expectations. I think the Charlotte and Lake Norman area is better scenery.
@@randyjennings6412 yeah I am sure Lake Norman feels less populated than Cary. I would think areas around here that are more comparable to that area would be in North Raleigh in the Falls Lake corridor.
