Should Tata (Land Rover) buy Fisker and make THIS a new Range Rover Evoque Electric?

  • What if Tata Group (who own Land Rover and Jaguar) buy Fisker who are currently in some financial difficulties?
This is the Fisker Ocean Hyper Extreme Edition One and it’s very much like a Range Rover Evoque or Velar. They could quite quickly use Fisker as a sub brand or put their badge on this and call it the Land Rover Ocean ?
They need to get into the EV market quicker and this could be a quick solution.
It’s a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that could fit the brand really well and it’s ready to go (well, pretty much, needs some software finishing!)
Huge battery of 113kwh which gives a range of over 400 miles potentially and at sensible pricing.
Some great features are included in this car and I think would fit into Land Rover product line up really well.
It’s just an idea. What do you think could keep the Fisker name alive?
    Thanks for watching.

I have had mine since Nov 2023 and put 6800 miles on it. Aside from a few early version software glitches, its been a reliable, fun and attention grabbing car. The range efficiency keeps getting better and by the time we get (if!!) software update 4.0 (currently have 2.0) its gonna be a truly awesome car.

This would be a great move. JLR need to sell more EVs and a restyled version of this with a different interior would be perfect. Another upside is that it’s already being produced in the EU so there wouldn’t be the import tariffs in some of its largest markets. Plus Fisker have the Pear under development which would make a decent E-pace replacement (with a proper jag interior) and very low production cost. The Fisker brand is probably tarnished beyond recognition by now, except among diehards so rebranding with an established brand would keep a potentially great car on the road.

And Richard I as Ocean Owner would really appreciate that Fisker get into a partnership or to an buyer. Yes from the brands and products it fits well to Landrover. From service perspektive (as a owner) I would a little bit prefer Stellantis, because the dealer net is bigger - even here in Germany. But at the end not our wishes are counting. A question for you guys a bit off topic. Ive tried to configure a Tesla model Y 7 seater but it can’t be done. Is this not available in UK? Thanks for your time

No 7 seat model Y never been available here.
I’ve tried one in the US and the back two seats are almost useless anyway.
Only real alternative in the Uk is Merc EQB. We made a video on that before.
Or stretch budget for Kia EV9 but that’s quite a bit bigger

Thanks for your help in this matter great advice it’s a bit confusing when you go on the Tesla page. It has a big bold five seat arrangement where it looks like you can press the tab to make it seven so thanks for that. Yeah that Kia EV looks nice, but big price tag, kind regards Lee great videos

i was all for buying one then the bad news about Fisker started to drift into the press and the internet. I would still buy one if major company adopted them and they had a dealer network. Not sure Tata would be that company as they are reportedly spending heavily to develop their own electric product on similar lines but would be probably fifty percent or more expensive.

It’s a good looking car and the hardware pretty good when I tried it but the software was atrocious. Simple things like the power windows didn’t work properly. But it’s well worth a second chance. Hope Fisker Ocean will get one.

If you did there marketing it would have been a best seller

I'd love to see it happen, this car needs some rough edges polished but is otherwise pretty good. Unfortunately, it's pretty unlikely.
