Pretty slick bud, would love to see a highlight video on your gin pole, please.
I second this.
I’m curious as well.
Yes 🙌
Thanks for sharing with us Austin. Nice job with the building project. Going to be watching that video a few times. I’m getting the urge. 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm just a hobby welder but I find your so friendly in your videos and they are filled with useful information... that I subbed to your channel. 😀
The people would like to know more about that gin Pole. Can we get a run down video on your take of it?
Yes would like to know the specs on that unit
Looking good glad to see you staying busy
Great videos Austin! I am not a welder, but I do own 2 of them and a plasma cutter and enjoy messing around with them in my garage, you give a lot of great information. I look forward to the new videos every Friday!!!
Great video can't wait to see more of this build ! Thank you
Man, I learn a lot from you. Love your content!
Thanks for another great video! Honestly I wait all week to see what you are up to!!
Could you show us how you made that sweet lifting contraption off the hitch? Very smart idea!
Awesome 👍 thanks for sharing your projects.
You're killing it man awesome video I love everything you do brother keep up the good work
Keep on knocking them jobs out👍🇺🇸
Nice work on the car port build and I like the Gin Pole setup on the truck Austin !
Hey men thanks for sharing your videos with us. I’ve learned so much from you
Thank you.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Enjoy your videos. I am a retired pipe fitter/ welder out of local 725 in Miami.
Good job like always my brother , thanks for all your advice
Weld your clips for purlin on the ground then lift up ;)
Looks good man
Ya... lol as we started welding them on, I told Parker, next time we’ll put these on before we hang the rafters. I love doin and learnin!
Hell yeah brother great job
Good work, Hand! Whatever it takes to get the job done.
Awesome job guys!!
Finally seen this one A Ross,,I like to give a little past experience,on your horizontal girt, cost wise I think 6" C perlin primered would work great flush side out naturally. The only other thing I noticed was the trusses only have vertical support,if you have snow those wide spans might need the angled brace welded in,really increases snow load.I have made many hay shelters the same way, just 12' inside, should be popular where your at,Good job.
Awesome job. So much good information.
Good quality work, looks sturdy!
Great metal yard that is where we got all metal for my sons eagle project
You're living and learning, such as shoot your elevations before cutting your columns, then you can cut and weld the caps on the ground, same with the clips on the joists. But, you're learning, that's the main thing, keep up the good work.
Ya... the customer did not get the plates in level... or else o would have gone that route. That’s the only bad thing about the customer doing some of the work... 🤷♂️ oh well.
Great vídeo amigo!!!
Gracias from México ...👍👍👍
Another great video brother!
Great inspiration Austin
Nice build interesting to know more about the processes. Thanks
Yes top my friend. Brazil 🇧🇷🇺🇸 USA ✌️
Hey, Railroad guy here. It's been awhile since I've commented. I really enjoy watching all the different projects. Beats just doing pipeline. I'm glad you're doing well. If you ever need a full time helper, I can get you in touch with my son. We're only an hr North of ya up in Winfield, KS. He has 3 or 4 yrs experience. Mainly Tig but can do all.
Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind.
Hell yeah I’m going to check out the grasshoppers and the circled burners and wouldn’t mind a couple stickers to Austin Keep up your shit Bubba maybe the oil patch will come back soon LOL
Love all you're videos keep it up!for me i started when I was 14 now 30 saved up enough money to by a cheap Lincoln electric buzz box and had my dad bring home scrap steel from job sites he was a plumber on site so brought me all crap steel ,now im a welder, ironworker on site and in the shop fabricating the whole job we'd install,,but what do love the most just pipeline work kinda same weld obviously just pipe but different fit or thickness and position so never easy or ,,doing jobs on youre own just the simple things getting steel for a job you bid, running a lazer and doing all the laying out to make job complete which do you like more?
Awesome build
Miss seeing you on that mud board not gonna lie...glad you are making your other career happen big things for you ahead keep it up! Wish you were closer to Indiana we would put you to work...might not sit well with Kayla and Gingham!!
I like your advise to guy's wanting to pipeline,I worked for one of the largest corporations in the world,I was asked if I wanted to tig in pump stations, stainless and chrome, after a few months of that,I was asked to help on a 42" tie in,if I would have been on my own it would of never happened.OH!! I forgot one thing,it doesn't doesn't matter how good you are or what you know,it's being good enough and who you know!
I love your videos man!
Love your homemade hitch crain lol. I'm legit gonna make one for my garage build
Ill be in that inner circle, straight up👌
Great Job bro
@10:46 damn how many reverses did it take for little truck to be put away in the garage lol
Neat Gin Pole Setup
That’s a nice trailer you’ve got. I think I would of built a little wall about 12” high in the front of it so that your steel won’t take off and nail you should you have to stop suddenly.
Hey Ross! Can you do a video of your cool convenient gadgets you use inside your pickup cab? Thatd be awesome!
That's a well made carport!
Great looking shirt!
nice work boss
Badass rig
The blueprint book is amazing. I was really surprised when i got mine of what all it had in it. How to figure this how to figure that, and how to make parts that you might need too. I love it.
What is the blueprint book that you are talking about
Yes what is this book you speak of?
Guy I love your videos.
I sure do like THAT! :)
Hey bud great videos I was wondering if you have one or could do one on the lift you used thanks keep up the great work
Awesome vid bud.
Great video
Liked this video👍
I agree! Video on the lift by itself.
Also Ross, run yourself some 1/0-ga wire from the Battery to the back of your Truck and front as well and connect those to Battery Quick connectors this was you always have 12V at both end's of your Truck and you just plug into it and you can have anything powering it. Winch, Flood LED lights and more like your hitch crane. And you can use it as a Starter cable hookup and charger port as well. And if you put a 200Amp Fuse right by the battery you also safe your butt when something is overloading the wire too so no cable burn. Cost you maybe $150 and 3h of your labor time to install it at the front and rear of your Truck but very well worth it. I installed on our Truck a heavy duty rectange 1/4" thick tube 3" by 4" and welded 3 Hitch receivers to it, left, right and center so I can put D-Ring receivers, My winches, Floot Bar's, Roof Rafter Rack or anything else I may need quickly into the receivers to simplify my job.
Love the videos. Need to get you a silver streak pencil. There the best for marking accrurately on steel. Thanks for the content.
My only complaint is that these videos are way too short. 😀 I could watch this guy work all day long.
Thanks for the video! I’m curious why you weld the purlin tabs after the trusses are lifted? Seems like it would be much faster while the trusses are still on the trailer
Use a clear hose with windshield washing fluid. It’s my go to for a level.
Fantastic job Austin and Parker! How did the privacy fence job go? Is there going to be a video of the finished build?
Yes sir! Coming soon!
Hey Mr. Ross.. first thing.. I enjoy your videos... my name is Rudy and hope this could help you out.. I build carports / 40×140 ft haybarns / garage's / lean-to's an lots more ... I always weld my clips on the ground that way everything is ready.. mark the spaces for your purlins.. and I don't brace my section because my pulins become my braces.. then the r-panels tie everything together.. hope that helps...
Yes yes. Very helpful. As we were welding the clips on I told Parker, next time we’ll do this on the ground before we hang the rafters... I love learnin. Thank you for sharing!
What do you mean by pulins...?
Hi there Mr Ross. I am new to welding. Is it possible to do a video on stick welders running on 230vac and recommended amp rating for welding farm equipment like soil tillers or thick metals and for learning pipe welding. It be great for all of us newbies looking into learning/ practice. I am lost on amp rating for 230vac home use welder.
@@arosswelding lol..sorry.. meant purlins
Good job
I like it
A good way of avoiding to run those wires to your battery. Why not install some quick connects near the rear and hook it on a relay and switch. You can also have it wired to where they won't provide power without the engine running.
That’s pretty much what my buddy did for his gin pole we use for dressing wild pigs in Texas,we ran the wires from the battery underneath the truck to the rear and up into a stake pocket and connected the wires to the male and female connections for a electric trolling motor the female one is in the pocket and the male one is on the wires on the pole and just used a ATV winch with a remote control, works great
I once got stuck on a lift 30' up on a Friday at the end of the day so I used our 100' extension cord and repelled down my foreman that told me not to climb down begged me to lower him down. So I did after a minute or two lol.
I would pay for plans of that gin pole. That’s so sweet and would be so much better to have around the shop
My question is about truck electronics and batteries during time of your lifting and welding . I do understand you have natural ground. Thanks .
Buen invento
Very beautiful Iran 👌
Hello, love your shows and your work. I am a welder and have had several welding jobs. Never went to welding school. Iam now turning 48 next month and want to go to tulsa welding school. Then to a pipeline to make dollars.. What do you think about tulsa welding school? Thanks Brady
How do you like the SAE-300? I work for a welder repair company, and customers always ask what we recommend.
Looks good! What thickness of material are you using
Right on
Hey Austin, just wanted to ask how n where do you promote your work and or get bids?
Can you do a video on how to use a transit and take elevations?
A transient works opposite of your eyes. If you wanna go up you go down if you wanna go down you go up
I would love if you show how to weld square tube with stick , we use 14 gauge square tube here for that kind of structures and im always worried to open up a hole when using stick thats the main reason i use flux core its easier
Looks awesome man. You guys did a good job. Btw would you have any more of the trucker hats from Industrial Tradition coming in? I would like to purchase a few if possible have a few guys that are interested. Thanks. Keep up the good work! ‘Rich NJ’
We are finally gettin some back in stock soon. I think ~2-3 weeks.. thank you for reaching out and for the support.
Another great video. Wish I lived near you, would like to help out just for the learning experience.
Off topic for pipe fence do you charge by the foot or per hour?
I like the gin pole/lifting rig. Do you have the build plans and materials list for sale?
Not yet but I will consider puttin some together.
@@arosswelding great it would be an awesome idea or welding project
@@arosswelding Austin make a video showing us the gin pole in depth. Thanks.
What blade are u using to cut the square post and what gauge is it?
Hey I’ve started my own welding business 3 months ago
I can't wait till I get my weld rig going!!! I miss welding and building things!!!!
Hey Austin super awesome vido to night. Hey do u think u will be going back to pipe line welding anytime soon with evthing thats going on in this crazzy times ?
Prob not anytime just real soon, but you never know 🤷♂️ I didn’t plan on doin this type of work this soon... I’ve always knew I’d prob come home and get back to this type of work but I didn’t know it would be this soon. I just go with the flow. Pipeline work is slow so I’m just doin what I can to make a livin usin my trade.
Im new to this channel, I have a good question, do you have any videos on how to square a foundation?
I just subscribe to your chanel, greeting from malaysia iam a pipe fitter too,and lot of information i learn from your video, thanks a lot for sharing peace 👍👍💖
Thank you for subscribing!
That’s pretty awesome. I’m planning on making my own pole barn on the farm out of metal. So any video I can get on this stuff helps a lot.
What brand tape measure do you use? Love the videos!
As always, quality work man. And as always, if you ever need a quality hand and welder who has his own gear, hit me up. Im in OKC, and looking for work.
I appreciate it.
Машина многофункциональная 👍
I am new to welding and learning as I go. I want to build my own car port. What is the required spacing for the rafters or the C-purlin when mounting them to the trusses?
It depends on the size of perlin and building. But average is between 3-4 feet
Did you drill for anchor bolts?
How do you lay out holes for concrete like that ??
Are you gonna show finishing the fence job?
Oh ya
I made my own gin Pole using a harbor freight 12 volt winch and a 20-foot piece of oil well drill stem. If the CZcams-watching crew here wants to know more, tell Austin and I'll send him the information. Many of the buildings I build have 12 to 15 ft tall side walls and you need an extremely long and robust hoist to get trusses up that high.
You don’t have pictures by any chance !? Would like to see your set up
hey bud i would like to have the info on your gin pole setup
@wadebrowne5076
I gave it to a friend, so I don't have any way to send you a picture, but all I did was, I fashioned a hinge out of steel, such that it fit into the 2" receiver on my truck. It was 12 feet long with a Harbor Freight 12-volt winch fastened about midway and a caged pulley at the outboard edge. I also put a hand-cranked boat winch mounted to my truck rack (welded 1 1/2" 11-gauge square steel tubing) and attached the hook end to an eye, which had been welded to the mast, just below the 12-volt winch. This carries most of the leveraged load, allowing the little electric winch to have to lift only the weight of a roof truss (400-800 pounds). That's it. Worked like a champ. I'm 74 and have transitioned from building steel buildings to staying around my little farm growing cows and building windmills and steam engines. Hope this helps.
What brand of elevation level you used ?
Again my question is did u put the square tubing on top of cement bases ?
Then those bases are gonna be inside the cement?
Those are embed plates, you put those plates on top of the cement, then once it dries you can't take those plates out
What thickness of square tubing did you use for the poles
1/8”
