  • Thanks for dropping by the StormRider channel. In this video I give 5 reasons why the classic CASIO F-91W watch should be in your collection. This small, lightweight watch costs only $15, yes, that is15 dollars! It is cool, versatile, has a battery that lasts for 7 years and has a number of useful functions. It is arguably the best watch for people with small wrists. If you have thin wrists you should try one on. I specifically show the metallic green retro CASIO F-91W-wm-3a. It has so many amazing qualities including an accuracy of +- 30 seconds a month, for context that is much better than many top end manual-wind and automatic watches.
I honestly bought this watch out of interest and did not expect much from it but it has become a firm favourite!
For more watch, CASIO and G-Shock reviews and thoughts, please see some of my other videos here: G-Shock • G-Shock
I also put a little Easter egg in the video, anyone recognise the map? ;)
StormRider is about beings strong, resilient, positive, fit and prepared.
I am passionate about adventure and testing myself - some of my favourite ways to maintain physical strength are kettlebells and carrying heavy stuff long distances, i.e. ‘rucking’ and cycling on Zwift and my Wahoo Kickr. I am also training for triathlon. I use products that can put up with harsh environments such as CASIO G-Shock watches. I enjoy talking about this variety of topics. A little clues to the Easter Egg...think GTA V.
If any of this is of interest to you please subscribe and let me know if you enjoy similar activities in the comments. Cheers...
On the StormRider channel I try to give you an indication of how different G-Shocks operate, the best models for different uses, 10 things I wish I knew before buying a G-Shock! As well ex explain what I think are the best value G-Shocks on the market, I.e. what are the Top 10 Casio G-Shocks under $200 you can buy
You will see G-Shocks transcend and become adopted by many different styles and cultures, just look at the Les Twins vs Rush Ball G-Shock real toughness Japan video where breakdancing professionals use G-Shocks, or see PradaG vs Smurf vs Stripes use G-Shocks. You see other athletes also use G-Shock such as Tiger Shroff
I also explain in some videos How to set a G-Shock Watch including many models such as the (5081). How to adjust time on G-Shock watch analogue digital How to set G-Shock hands
I am interested in the the art or making G-Shock watches
I will sometimes post a video about ‘top G-Shocks’, such as Top 5: Casio G-Shock watches for men and women and specific situations
I talk about special edition G-Shocks such as the Gorillas X releases
I provide Functions overview of different G-Shock models such as the awesome GMW B-5000 Full metal square - Awesome! as well as the Classic G-Shock DW-5600 series. I hope you find these kinds of videos useful. Please let me know your favourite types :)

Just had a friend get me this watch and I love it! I recently discovered the huge number of people modding their watch, either the actual functionality of the watch, or simpler things like inverting the display, and changing the watch face to a different colour.
I wish casio knew about this (relatively small) community, and made it so you could customise easier! I personally would want an all black watch, with silver/white writing on the watch face

You're one of the few who know it was released in 1989! Many just assume 1991 due to the name. I got this recently and it holds its own even against a metal G-Shock square!

Agreed, any serious watch collector must have and the majority already have a F-91W. I have the original one and bought new for $4.95 last Christmas. Have already 8 Casios and sky is the limit. Buy yourself a Casio Duro, Bleu dial with the marlin fish on the dial, another collectable 200 meter Diver watch just for $45. You can't go wrong with any Casio watches and once you got the Casio virus, you wont stop with one and will die happy. hehee Thanks for review.

Great watch, great video. Check out the W217h, basically the same watch, but a bit bigger in every dimension, a longer strap, much better back light and better water resistance. I get the history of the F91, and I had some of its predecessors, but the W217h strikes me as a just as cool, modernized and improved version.

The main thing I dislike on this model is the backlight. I'm not sure why Casio insists on keeping this weak light but I would guess this has something to do with it's legacy. Other than that it is a really charming and classic piece.

Another YT channel did a test on nine F91s and he quotes:
    _We have now rated 9 Casio F91-W watches over several months. We find these 10-day rates: +1.18, +1.68, -1.40, +0.15, +0.47, -0.83, -0.05, -3.36, -1.16_
So the best of these would roughly equate to +0.15 x 3 = 0.45 or approx +0.5 sec/month. If you had that actual watch it would be in Grand Seiko territory for accuracy. TBF that's not to say that the F91 would maintain that accuracy rate for years. Food for thought nonetheless.
