Definitely my #1 cause of death
Learn how to fight, carry a rock or stick and you're set. Make random beds on the ground few and far in between and suffer the consequences when you wake up. Timing is everything once you have that down you're unstoppable except for the fall damage when you somehow manage to miss every branch falling through a thick forest at 500 feet

Can you explain why I should make multiple beds not just in my base waterfall? Suffer the consequences? Don't understand. Do you mean to do that to auto save?

Multiple beds are good because i think you sleep better in the bed (need less sleep) and can work on your neurons for skills. If you make beds near areas of importance to you (like basalt for a chopper), you can find your resource faster. You can also use it as a temp base, leaving piles of things you might need on your trip so when things respawn around the base, you have double the resources available.
As for the consequence, enemies. Sleeping on the ground leaves you vulnerable to being attacked by the wildlife around you. In order to sleep, you can't have anything in your action hand (right hand), but if you have a weapon of some sort in your off hand (left hand), then you can still fight back when you wake up and get the timed attack.
I'm not sure how accurate the "a cat spawns when you're on the ground too long" is, as it seems to be more based off where the spawn is for the animals. I pretty much never see the cats unless i'm near their territory, and i spend a lot of time on the ground. That said, it seems like it changes per game, since i had a clan that settled in an oasis and we were attacked multiple times by the cat seemingly spawning out of thin air while the next time through i rarely saw the cat in the same location (i wanted to hunt it down but had trouble finding it).
Other thing to note is that, once an enemy is dead, they stay dead until a time skip. So if you defeat a snake and wander around for a year before doing any skip (birth, generation, evolution), it stays dead so that area is relatively safer after you defeat the enemies nearby.
What i like is when you fall deep I get this feeling in my brain like I'm falling myself! Like being in a rollercoaster!

Ye it’s to jump, but if you hold it while you move then you sprint. Then stop moving before you let go of spacebar and you won’t jump. Lol it’s a pretty weird system but that’s how it is.
Swing from the trees until you can move freely in one motion as apes do. It is achievable. I take pride in how smooth my gameplay looks.
I really wish you could check your thirst/hunger without sleeping for hours.
If I’m traveling I usually try to time it out so that I only sleep when I’m next to a river or water source, take a few sips before sleeping and then fill up fully after sleeping. Usually if you do this properly, I wake up around 5, and can go through the entire day without eating or drinking water until that cycle is ready to restart (around 18:00-19:00)
Actually you can. Analyze another hominid, or switch and analyze the one you were originally controlling. Hope that helps
Always use the babies to explore, they are immune to all enemies 😶🌫️
The monkey is tougher than you think. I once fell down from about halfway up a tall tree and I only got a broken bone. Luckily, I was near some plants that heal bones.
It’s less whether or not it’s tough, and more that (some areas) don’t feature such convenient happenstance at all (like, breaking a bone out of reach of said trees will severely slow you until that gets taken care of, and being made to bleed a distance away from kopok trees gets _worrying_ . If you can shield yourself against the injury beforehand, scrambling to fix shouldn’t be necessary.
So, this video explains how to jump, but does not seem to explain how to grab onto smaller branches to swing on. The actual procedure goes as follows: once you jump, you need to immediately press and hold the jump button again. That will make your primate latch on to the next available branch.
Guys on PS4 and XBOX ONE in order to swing u have to hold L2/R2 and X or LT/RT and A when passing through branches of trees as shown in the video
You don't need to hold the triggers, you only need to hold and let go to swing and jump off

All this time I've been only eating a few things because I thought the things in the bottom left were all bad, I was slightly confused though seeing that a fruit could break my bones lmao now I know
If you are thirsty and there is no water nearby try looking for a khat tree (the red leaves) they give you water along with some other fruits and coconuts
Everytime I swing through the branches I think of Schwarzenegger from predator saying 'he's using the trees'

I like to carry a spear and bas chopper with me and just walk the ground and climb up trees a lil just to scan with smell and sound and kill or poke anything that tries me chop up the body get a new stick either from the small stick trees or near tree tops and sharpen it up for the next poor soul while I'm trying to find a new stick I use my bas chopper as a back up weapon incase I get jumped.
Get your buffs on before going out. Theres anti venom, anti bone breaking, anti bleeding, anti cold. You will need them, especially early on before you learn the necessary skills

I actually move low on the tree seeing as every Primate just eats those you don’t have to really worry about normal fall damage. If you ever played Assassin’s Creed 3 they had those trees to walk in and the lower sections of tree are exactly like that!

i'm finding myself having difficulty staying up in the trees, whenever i get to the canopy it gets very hard for me to plan my route, i end up moving jjust below the canopy but that brings the risk of having no route forward and having to go on the ground untill you reach the next tree. it made me arm myself, killing off tigers in the first few hours of my gameplay. does anyone else experience this?
Nice tips, but later on late game in Savanah..there's lack of tree..only flat ground with a bunch of predators. Well, it's late game..so personally everyone already can survive the challenges there.. 👍👍

moving through the trees will definitely save you a lot of hassle but once you understand the basic mechanics of the game. like the sound cues fighting or dodging animals is pretty easy. how ive been running around is with a basalt chopper (cause it will make a branch a spear in 7 hits) in one hand and a spear in the other. food and water are everywhere and even with the starter skills its not really hard to find food or water. so i like to carry protection if i ever do get attacked
Exactly what I do. If you strip the branch first it only takes 3 hits
For people who are asking about combat you need a sharp stick to counter attack and is similar to the dodging

I haven't fallen once while climbing, still, it was nice to see new techniques. I hadn't been able to figure out how to swing, but with your video, now I can. I also would often find myself getting stuck on a certain tree with nowhere to go because I did not plan my route. Now that doesn't happen anymore. I do have one question though, can you die from the cold? Usually, I would eat some Khat right away because I didn't like the screen effect, and would never eat it to keep me from dying. I can't believe I wrote an entire paragraph just for this.
I'm not sure it can kill you but the cold seems to impact elders more than adults

Another good tip: go to settings go to audio then move music to none or 25% so when you sharpen rocks and stuff you can hear the ding
I've never had any problem hearing the cue even with music at 100%. I dunno why people keep saying to remove the music...

The ugly girl 09 it can be hard to hear the “ding” when you kill other animals. In the start where I didn’t kill animals I was also confused why people were saying it’s hard to hear but know it can be hard.

The music gives you cues too...some music plays when a snake is close for example. Big cats stalk you so the music doesn't help, in any other case it helps a lot.

When I construct a wall or bed my ape gets stuck some times I have to save and log in . When when it’s a stick wall it’s a challenge to undo this glitch

Jacob Hammond No problem man. All you gotta do is get a branch from a tree. Get a rock and shape the branch into a spear. Then you go and find a place near the river and fish. Simple as that.

Another tip I've noticed if you sleep outside your settlement when you wake up there's a sabertooth in the area. I've been snuck up on everytime I come down for water. So I try to find a river with an island in the middle it's worked so far or fight it off.
Start to fight animals, big cats won't be a problem no more. Your clan will learn to be aggressive and defend themselves even...
Made it look smooth.
I think what allowed us to progress so far is our ability to exit the game before it can save if someone dies. 🙄

I only did this twice once because I discovered fall damage can kill and once because I panicked and fucked up a dodge against a snake
I didn't exit the game before it could save but I restarted the game like 5 times until I was confident enough. It worked fine for me.
I hate fall damage and one scratch from a ssber tooth tiger killed my monke
You have to stop your bleeding yourself. You can eat those red khat leaves to protect your bones from breaking.
Its a saver tooth tiger. That isn’t “one scratch”. That’s a huge wound that’s super easy to get rid of considering how bad it really is.

I just started and i got like 75% of my clan dead
I just started, and I probably restarted my lineage 4 times before I finally decided I was comfortable and ready to not start from scratch this lineage. Took me a while to realize that elder females were my expendables.

When crafting, grooming & attacking/dodging there are audio cues that go off when it’s time to release. I recommend turning the music down or off to be able to hear them
I do wish that on harder difficulties some of the vines/small branches that we swing from would snap randomly. A bit of realism that makes moving through the canopy just a tad more difficult.

Anyone know about any unkillable sabertooth im near the orchard and no matter where I go or if I make a new generation this sabertooth will not die I’ve tried to kill him 5times and no success he just disappears then appears like right in front of me with a stick hanging out of him and it’s getting annoying cause now he coming in my settlements and it’s getting annoying he keeps making the other apes bleed and he just won’t die or leave us alone
You need to hit the tigers with 3-5 sticks to kill them. Sometimes the stick breaks instead of doing damage. When you're nearer to the end of the game you might even get one-shot kills.
I evolved my apes to kill at the highest efficiency making my apes apex
Feel like the cats are weird. On one lineage I hit one with multiple sharpened sticks (had a group that couldn’t fight back with me) and it still wouldn’t die, on another lineage (earlier and not as advanced) I killed a macchi on the first encounter, solo, with a blunt stick.
Like, both of these lineages were within reach of the first evolution, if not after it, but that was really weird to have happened.

What advantage does progressing a generation give us? We lose a lot of the advances that we got and can only save the ones we reinforce, should we keep skipping generations after learning 4 skills/advancements?
I think it’s best not to spend to much time with one generation, as having more babies leads to more mutations.
You can search for more adults to add to your clan, if you add another female to your clan that 6 skills you can reinforce and etc, also as long as you unlock the skill you don’t have to train to unlock it again just need to re-earn the neurons
Also I think you should only evolve if you think it’ll push your timeline up by 1 million years as it seems every 1 million years is a new species, not 100% on this though
@@xterros3514 I think you might be right. I'm almost entertaining the idea of moving forward a generation after unlocking four skills. Sorta like treating generations as a level-up, but I can't be sure. Will try it out myself but keep a look out on helpful tips that I can find online (Firesparks video's are SO helpful!)
@@NicoUnken also if you get meteorites you get an additional 2 reinforcements for that generation I've had 10 reimbursements
I just started and kinda figured out how to craft tools I knew each type of rock would be a different tool I recommend the basalt chopper to make spears but anyway it’s my third day playing I’d say im about 10 hours of gameplay in and I just killed my first golden macharius killed like thirteen African pythons and a shit load of warthogs what I’m trying to figure out is how to make fire and cook and to see if there is a tool that needs to be crafted to skin my kills and or chop up the meat

I need a help with the combat i dont get the timing is all over the place i always get messed up by the sabertooth :/
There is a nueron in the evolution menu thing that u can unlock that gives u more time when dodging and counter attacking
When you become aware of a predator, you will enter a heightened state of awareness. You can either defend or dodge depending on what you have in your hands. Hold A to prepare for the attack, and there will be a cue that tells you when it's best to release A. Aim your movement away to dodge, aim towards to defend.

Should be X afaik. It's A on Xbox One and X is the same position

Means you are leaving you comfortable area, if you continue in it you will expand your clans land.
It means you're tired and need to sleep.Other guy thought you were talking about fear.
I only go in trees so I don't get attack while smelling or hearing. Then I tread the ground

Everybody plays differently. I go straight from point A to point B as quickly as possible regardless of terrain. But I still approve your style😅
@@gdiaze1983 as I got more confident and familiar with the surroundings and less scared of the dangers, my style of play has changed dramatically.
Bring the whole clan and the everything else will fear u. Saber attacks basically become a door-dash.

Do you recommend using a elder or a adult?
elder gets tired faster and has a lower life expectancy, however they aren’t scared of new areas.
Adults are vice versa.
i would honestly recommend using an elder female, because they are fertile, can’t have babies, and are no longer useful to the clan and it won’t be so bad if you lose one of them
@@porpoisethepurpose6768 its better to use an adult male ape. you are a lot less likely to die, because you'd be healthier.

Can someone please verify whether or not I have to have an internet connection to launch/play this game once it's downloaded/installed? Epic has offline mode, and 'some' games can be played in offline mode, but not all...so I would like to know beforehand whether it can be played in offline mode; if someone who has the game now could please test? Thank you for your time and assistance.
You can play it offline
You shouldn’t need to have internet connection to play this game. If on Xbox you will have to set your console as your home/main console in order to play any of your games offline. PlayStation doesn’t matter, no settings need changed, PC shouldn’t matter either

How do you swing on controller
Jump towards the leaves and hold x, release it and hold x again to grab the next leaves
Don´t use sharpened stick as weapon, use Basalt Chopper instead. Basalt Chopper don´t break and it will do a lot of damage.
Where can I get this chopper?
Alter basalt using granite
You can find basalt under liftable rocks
Takes like 10 hit with a chopper to kill a tiger and 2 spears. I usually keep a chopper on me and just spam out spears
@@oblivi0n99 It depends on luck and Neurons. I one-hitted a python mith Chopper, where i Need 3 spears with bad luck…..but yu are Right, spamming spears is more effective, but ALWAYS carry a Chopper with you !
How do you swing
yeah how do you swing pc for me tho
I found that holding space when going through leaves gets you to latch on to it. It gave me a menu on what to do once I grab on but it seems to work by just pressing space in leaves for me!
Release jump and then immediately hold jump again as you're flying through the air and that will prime U2 grab anything that you can grab and also you have to hold forward on either the keyboard or a joystick to carry your momentum and then right as your feet swing forward at the maximum forward point release and you'll get a super jump off the swing
how you keep your energy up ??
just stop and rest a couple seconds or if the core is smaller than usual, make sure to eat and drink until it stops pulsing

Basically each ape has 3 states elder adult and baby elder has less health less energy and stamina but doesn't have fear of the unknown, the adult is the peak of the ape best health, chance of learning, stamina and energy , . The baby can't do much but doesn't lose food or water and can learn by being on an adult's back
FoxTN Gamer th Ebola of the game is to evolve the way you do that is by pressing the evolution button. Everything you do in the games adds years (which is good) so eventually you will get to human. You apes dying puts you back 25k years or so every kid is plus 25k. So when you skip a generation the elders die without any setbacks and your kids grow up to become stronger
@@antihypocrite510 it's only 5000 years on console not sure if it's different on pc but I typically shoot for around 4 or 5 gens ,5 gens gives you 30 births which will give you a 150,000 year boost would be 750,000 if it was 25,000 per baby

Carry a sharpened stick and/or rock with you always so you can defend against attacks. Having more apes on your expedition will also help intimidate predators. You can also intimidate while climbing.

Where were you on the map? Certain zones birds fly lower, specially I think the beach has low flying birds

Shadow In back of you it’s a skill you can unlock later where they automatically attack when attacked
Hold a weapon in your main hand, give it to one of your clan members. If you have the right neuron, they'll attack when threatened.

First you need to find fertile female (only adult, not elder), male on the other hand can be adult or elder. Then you need to form a couple, you do so by grooming partner (listen to audio cues). Sometimes there is bug and process of grooming is not advancing (sometimes they stuck drinking, eating or doing monkey business). In this case command partner to follow you, and go to sleep (for few hours), when you wake up partner will "unstuck". Moving on, after you groomed partner 5-6 times you "form couple", then go to "bed" (leaf pile) and "call for mate", after you mate you should have option to "give birth". Hope it will help.

@@jamessuhandy9061 No sleep is needed; just an adult female with a male who are not family related. I had a hard time with this, too. Hold the groom button until you hear a very faint sound that is a bit like two maraca shakes. Then you'll see bonding go up a bit. Do this again a couple more times until the Bonding bar is full. Once you have a partner, go to a sleeping area, lay down and call your mate. You'll then be able to breed.

Vakars on PS4 you hold x but when you let go of x while moving you jump. To cancel the jump stop moving before releasing x. Idk for Xbox or pc

After you release jump button and start flying, hold jump button again and the stick in the direction you want to swing. You will grab and swing and the timing of your release is critical for getting max distance. Practice makes perfect❤
