    Thanks for the great videos, Jason. Subscribed and watched most of your vids before making our purchase. Our family now roams the West at will from our home state of Montana in a 20BHS. Happy trails, GPA.

    I find that using our Berkey filter a lot on 'funky' water will require taking the ceramic elements out and doing a light scrub with an old toothbrush keeps the flow going well.

    Great Vids Jason! I have a 2021 Geopro 19FSD on the way! Should arrive in about 2 weeks. I was wondering if you or anyone else can tell me what the shore power connection is like....120V 20A? 120V 30A? Do you need and adapter to plug it in with the HD U Ground extension cord you use?

    • @campingalan
      @campingalan Před 4 lety

      Greg Boone congrats on your purchase!! That is exciting. A general rule of thumb is that your amp's connection will be based on how many air conditioners that you have. 1 a/c, such as these geo pros, would be a 30 amp connection. When you pick up your rig, I would HIGHLY recommend getting a "30 to 15 amp" adaptor so that you still could plug into a regular house electric socket. It will easily plug on to the male portion of your rigs power cord. When you do that adaption, you won't be able to use your air conditioner, but you can use all of the other electrical items in your rig. However, you will still need to be conscious of not over powering the electrical system, I.e. Only 1 high power item at a time (turn off coffee pot to run the microwave, turn off microwave to run a regular house vacuum, have water heater on gas power when running a big item). Otherwise, you would pop a circuit breaker.
      A 50 amp rig would typically have 2 a/c's.

    What kind of Jeep are you hauling with? Looking for make/model tow package info and if it’s a V8 or V6? Do you have trouble going over Mtn’s etc? What is the tow rating? I got a V8 Trailhawk and the dealer can’t seem to agree on town rating… so looking for any info on your Jeep.

    You wouldn't happen to have a photo of what the Hot Water Valve, Cold Water Valve, and Bypass valve look like either in normal operation or winterized? Just picked up a brand new 19FBS on Friday, it was winterized and they said I need to DE winterize it. I have seen conflicting instructions, and hoping to have someone that has a pic of normal or bypass to help me out.

    • @GeoProAdventures
      @GeoProAdventures  Před 5 lety +1

      Dustin Mobley I don’t have a picture of it and probably won’t be out at the Geo pro for a couple weeks, but I can tell you what you need to look for - The water filter and low point drain need to be taken off & drained because they probably have pink antifreeze in it right now from the manufacture. If you push that access panel back from inside the storage bin on the left side of the trailer looking forward, you’ll see the filter set up right there.... have a small wash basin and a few rags you’ll need to pull off that filter and rinse it out good and then it should make sense by just looking at it & your valve position that you’re going to want. I am just sitting around recuperating for the next few days so post a photo for me or send me an email and let me know the time you’re going to work on it and I can help you out live :-)

    • @GeoProAdventures
      @GeoProAdventures  Před 5 lety +2

      HI - MPH I believe it’s the standard size Berkey - it’s NOT the travel size & I don’t think it’s the Big Berkey. We have the factory mattress since it has a nice mattress heater that works well. We did add a nice mattress pad & comforter set

  • @pattladd5668

    The GeoPro is advertised to have one of the best water filter systems available. So, what prompted you to add a Berkey?

    • @GeoProAdventures
      @GeoProAdventures  Před 5 lety +2

      Patt Ladd Fill up the tank at most of these campgrounds and you’ll easily see & smell why lol. The Berkey comes out 99.999% purified. It’s actually a water purifier, not just a filter:)

    • @josephspell7628
      @josephspell7628 Před 5 lety +3

      The water filter in the Geo Pro will filter out solids, but it’s not like a ceramic filter that filters giardiasis.

      Thanks for the clarification:)

    • @Thejohnnyoshow
      @Thejohnnyoshow Před 4 lety

      the geopro is advertised as having a lot of best, but really its any thing but. there is nothing really special about this camper. its mostly eye candy. there are a lot of options out there that are better built around the same price range and even ones with tandem axles for only a few hundred pounds more. And before anyone asked, yes I own one and 10,000 miles in, so more then qualified to give a valid opinion on one. Im sure for some people its ok, but really once you get past all the smoke and mirrors you realize there are better options out there. (i'm referring to the 19FBS and like models, the smaller ones probably have more value compared to others in their class, but once you get to the 19 there is really no point in looking at geo anymore)

      Ashley Ruenzel Well, I suppose I could.   • @eleengrego

    Hello Jason. I also have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee but a V6. Do you have a V6 or V8?

    • @GeoProAdventures
      @GeoProAdventures  Před 5 lety +1

      eleengrego We have the V6 also - it seems to do really well 95% of the time and adequate the other 5%. I’ve noticed it slightly underpowered in hot/high environments but those steep mountain grades usually have two lanes up & a 35-45 mph speed limit. Even when I thought the Jeep was kind of dogging it - we were still able to pull into the left lane and pass semi-trucks uphill, so maybe everything above 10,000’ in the summer pulls like a dog. I had a F150 that towed like a dream but never had it out west to really have a fair comparison. You shouldn’t have any trouble with your V6 grand Cherokee :)

      Thank you Jason for your prompt response. I wanted a Geo Pro like yours but I was concerned about the lack of storage space. I opted for a Keystone at 3944# dry weight. eleengrego Check out Lake Havasu area - there are a bunch of RV’s there living off-grid. I like a particular area called The Steps, which is a free RV area. I talked with the BLM office and you don’t need a permit - 100% free. It should be nice in the summer with the lake activity...

      I just re-looked at the video where Renee set up the Geo for towing and I noticed you don't have an Equalizer hitch. Do you use one or was it just to make it simple for the video that you didn't? I plan on doing something like you both are and getting ready to buy my 2020 19FBS. Just wondering about the Equalizer. Of course everyone I know says to have one. I am bringing the trailer from Los Banos CA to AZ.
