I’m a fan of your product and how it matches knockdown texture. I tried the can spray with poor results. Picked this up at Sherwin Williams and the result is great with the pressure around 30psi.
Great to hear! 🙏🙏🙏

I would remove the baseboard and put the new drywall all the way down. I didn't see any backing for the drywall to rest on. It's only being held in place by the drywall paper. No wood backing and no screws. Nothing is supporting the drywall on the right against the shower enclosure and on the bottom at the baseboard.
Hey GabeG.,
You make some great points, but we left the baseboard on purpose to show that a plumbers patch will work in this situation. The plumbers patch is a tried and tested method for repairing drywall. The facing paper on the drywall does not create strength in the patch, just like taping the seams of two sheets of drywall is not the strongest part of the wall. Paper tape or our method using the face paper of the drywall is a bridge to float drywall compound over, in an effort to control cracks, which would happen if we used nothing.. The areas that butt up to the old drywall are also filled with drywall compound and dry into a nearly solid sheet of drywall again. Also, we ran caulking over the area above the base and next to the tile before painting.I speak from the experience of doing hundreds of these patches over the last 30 years.
Thanks again for your comment,
I hope you try this method to check it out!

@@EZ-ProTexture I don't doubt that a plumbers patch works under certain circumstances. I just believe that the new drywall has to have backing to support it. Otherwise it's just floating and any slight pressure will dislodge it. The drywall paper of the top and left side of your example are fine. But the right and bottom have nothing to hold the drywall in place.
come on now ... use a small pail and an old cake mixer beater in your drill to mix up mud = faster n easier then using a mud pan to mix in .
Appreciate the idea but it wouldn’t be safe to recommend the theft of your wife’s kitchen wares!
@@EZ-ProTexture for $16 dollars you can buy a new cake mixer or one beater cost $7 dollars
Haha, fair enough!
The most idiotic idea I've ever seen, in order to do it this way u have to wet that paper before you put mud on it, otherwise it will bubble. Besides it takes longer and regular paper or mesh tape would do the job faster and better. You should use waterproof green drywall or hardie cement board there.
Pawelfronczyk1579,
This is not my idea! If you research “Plumbers Patch” you’ll find numerous methods to do this type of patch. I’ve done hundreds of them with no failures over the last 30 years. I appreciate your passion and your ideas, but there’s always many ways to accomplish a goal. I’m just demonstrating one.
Wish the best!
Jim
