One thing I’ve learnt with fishing is to be patient, even though it can be really frustrating waiting for a bite haha. You still got some nice fish for the table. 👍🍺🍺🍺

Well Sammy its 100 degrees F here in the states. I guess theres a reason they call you Aussies from down under!😎 I just recently got back from a 10 day fishing trip in Fla and came back with 32 lbs of fillets of Tripletail Redfish Black Drum and Speckled Trout. Gonna have a big fish fry with all my extended family and friends. Dont know if you guys know about Tripletails but they are some of the best eating fish in all of the US. They go for 32.99$ a lb here in the states. I have at least 20lbs of them. Gonna be an epic wk end with the fish and many many beers! Wish ya could join us!😎
We catch Tripletails on the beaches in the tropics of North Queensland, they are not common but with the right technique you can target them. Locals up there call them Jumping Cod, great eating fish.
I’ve never caught a triple tail!! But I have heard they are delicious. Sounds like you had an epic trip! Hope you and the family have a great cook up 🍻🍻🍻

@@SammyHitzkeFishing Very hard fighting fish. They look like dinosaurs. Big and wide with very sharp fins and gill plates. My biggest was 28”s and then 26.5”s and several between 19”-22”s. The biggest was 23.5 lbs. They fight like hell and are usually hanging out under buoys are some kind of structure. You have to sneak up on them and drift a live or frozen shrimp about 3-4 ft in front of their face. Once they hit it you better hang on and reel like hell!😎

Didn't like my jig the rod tip? How about changing the angle of the approach to the structure?
Predatory fish face the current food come from behind spooks them, prey comes with the current they get clobbered.
I found this out trolling for lake trout when I was 18. Fishing on the way out, I would catch fish. On the way back home, my rod was always bent. I started to fish only in the direction of home, and I always would catch the fish on the sounder.

I’ve tried jigging the rod in previous trips and didn’t find it to be as effective as running it straight off the rod tip.
As for changing the angle, if you saw the structure I was fishing you would understand the directions I was going 👍
