  • This episode I took the bat tail Sniper Board out for its 2nd session and with us we had someone on the beach to film. There were some waves but the wind was just not playing its part and this made it hard to land some of the moves. Huge shout out to Waldo Uys for the footage!

    Try incorporating quads rails or even Tri rails on your bat tail board, i suspect more speed and looser on the tail. Love the videos, I just get so amped for a surf after I watch one of your videos.

    Great vid. Very convincing comment on the bat-man! Almost noticeable looking at the footage. DK is crazy! And spinning like a madman too... 😂 Carefull though with the sandpaddling advise, your not supposed to wind up in a mental institution! 🤣

    Bat tail is weird I have one but my board is really water log but it’s super fun and loss but when I’m on the bigger haves my tail kinda blows out u need a lot of control which you have but Jeff rides it in comp you just gotta get used to it

    • @iaincampbell_
      @iaincampbell_  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I guess that’s it. The board still feels a little big on those bigger waves I was riding. But at the same time the lines and its speed makes it feel so good. Next we try it on the knee.

    Size it down a bit. To gain more control and similar feel as the 🌙. Using same size as your usual 42 crecent is too big/unorthodox especially in these choppy/unorthodox conditions.
    Regardless. You made some incredibly fast and clean lines with the bigger waves. The reverse air and air were sick. I am certain you can master the bat in the right size very quickly but best to stay with what made you the best in the world=🌙 tail. As we say...if it ain't broken, why try to fix it?
    #1 channel on CZcams. I hope you keep it going forever.

    • @iaincampbell_
      @iaincampbell_  Před 2 lety

      The plan is to definitely keep this going for a long time.
      I have moved away from the Bat tail for a while. Just didn’t enjoy it as much as my crescent tail boards. It happens. All good.

    • @michaelstrode8924
      @michaelstrode8924 Před 2 lety

      Yes. Even if you had it sized better. It is a learning curve. You must be constantly competitive as the champ. No time to be fiddling around with anything but your crecents. Maybe in future after finishing the tour years, you can take time to play around on any boards (longer crecents/bats/whatever). But until then. Must stsy gocused on the craft you mastered=crescent. Only thing more you can do is working on your custom shapes etc.
      Saw that heat with you and Tristan. That one came down to luck of the waves draw. Tristan got just a pinch better waves is all. Nothing you could do to change mother nature but I do love your style much more than Tristen's. (nothing against Tristen).
      Stay healthy is #1. You will be Champion many times/years to come🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    how would i get better at paddling?

    • @Rooster1172T
      @Rooster1172T Před 3 lety +3

      I know this sound stupid, but lay on the sand and dig the sand as if you're paddling and will probably look a bit silly but you will build up the necessary muscles to paddle cause when your digging sand you'll have resistance and when you get in the water you will be able to paddle super quick because of way less resistance(:

    • @SF-wr4zn
      @SF-wr4zn Před 3 lety +5

      Scott Bloxsom you’re right, that does sound incredibly stoopid 😂

    • @SF-wr4zn
      @SF-wr4zn Před 3 lety +3

      There’s a lot of merit in doing other things that have crossover aspects, i do a lot of mtbing when the water is flat...this helps strengthen my legs for kicking in the water. Swimming, rowing and suping help me too. But honestly the only real thing that gets me in the best condition for paddling out, is actually ‘paddling out’! 🤙🏻

    • @iaincampbell_
      @iaincampbell_  Před 3 lety +3

      Swim training is the best, safest and easiest form of training to increase paddle strength and power.

    • @Rooster1172T
      @Rooster1172T Před 3 lety +1

      @@SF-wr4zn I know right! But it's super effective! Haha I learnt that from training as a lifeguard as it helps to manoeuvre a rescue board(: but as you said, mountain biking is great as well!
