    I had this same issue with our 2012 G37 sedan. Water on both sides, front and back. Sucked a whole wet vac amount of water out of it. My dealer quoted almost $1,500. Drop the dash and would not install a modified part. I am not even close to being considered handy but I watched your video, purchased some 12 inch screw drivers and same length needle nose pliers. I modified my drains with tubes and did the install in one afternoon. It tests perfect and no leaks. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to make this video. It saved me money and showed I can do repairs with the right instruction and tools. Many thanks!

    The fix is actually easy. Remove the A pillar and remove the tape that's attached to the hose. Stretch the hose forward to give some slack. That's all. What happens is the hose shrinks over time and tugs on the drain plug. Or go to Home depot and get some hose and extend the hose going to the drain plug to give it some slack. Got a foot long needle nose pliers and a flash light and I had mine fixed in about 5 minutes.

    I had the same issue with mine and pondered taking it to a sunroof specialist with their own shop. It took a bunch of looking to find someone willing/able to fix sunroofs. The sunroof specialist charged a couple hundred bucks to just diagnose the problem. I found a mobile sunroof specialist who came to the house and fixed it in the driveway for about $200. He ended up extending the drain line down to the rocker panel and was done in under an hour. He sees the same issue with Nissan/Infiniti and fixes a couple a week. It’s been four months and ton of rain with no issue. Just look in your area for a mobile sunroof specialist.

    Hey guys I went to do this and found out the LEAK was ABOVE my battery. I used sealant to seal the cowel above my battery. Seal the space between the cowel (plastic cover) and the windshield wipers. You will see that the opening for the interior air filter is right under there. I had my windshield replaced and they did not seal the cover properly. Try this first, I spent a day and this was not my problem. 😢

    If you have water in the car, I find that the best way to dry it out is to take a home dehumidifier, get a board to put underneath it to protect your seats, use a blanket to get the board level, and run it for several hours with the cord coming through a narrow crack in the window.

Water leaks right down over the door tweeter and leaves a pool of water under the Styrofoam baffles under the carpet. Anyone have this issue? I prob need new door seals but there are so many in that area. Afraid to take to dealer as they will prob want to replace everyone at like $150 each. There is like 3 or 4 total per the parts list. Then I snaked it with a brush tip wire and degreaser all the way down to the firewall and followed with hot water. It started draining great so I assumed I got lucky. Can the leak happen in the back seat?

    • @DoomFinger511
      @DoomFinger511 Před rokem

      Yes, if the rear drain tube (which exits out the rear fender) gets clogged. You can access it by pulling back the trunk liner.

    Hey are they sunroof drains going into the rear?? Or just the 2 upfront?? 2012 g37x

    • @DoomFinger511
      @DoomFinger511 Před rokem

      There are 2 in the rear, one on each side. They exit out of the rear fenders above the rear wheels. You can access them by pulling back the fender or removing the trunk liner.

    I’ve been wondering what’s causing water to leak to my passenger floor I can’t lie tho I’m not too car savy should I take it to a shop to have it fixed for me?

      @kova_motive  Před 2 lety

      It's a little tricky but nothing you can't do if you take your time. I would try it and if you're unable to get it fixed, take it somewhere. Luckily, this doesn't take away your ability to drive the car if you need to take it somewhere.

    I think my concern is what happens if a spider decides to crawl up in there and make a nest inside that tube? You will end up with the same problem all over again. Except this time it will leak in directly from the moonroof.
