Advancement process is bs. I have been passed up a second time in a row. I word and have all my quals I do JAE and MWR events. I do public volunteer hours. I am in my shop and made my way out of Line shack and people who don't have half the quals, do not do any JEA MWR or volunteer hours and have been in less time than me made it........ Like wtf?
I recently met a Culinary specialist 2nd class that didn't know how to use a scale this is a basic tool in the galley and this guy is trying to make 1st. Class Petty Officer?
People in the Navy like that will still some how, some way make rank.
I recently read a navy instruction about culinary specialist and how the galley watch as well as food service attendents have been placed on shipboard watch bills as of now I think this will backfire S-2 gives up the Chief, LPO, Records Keeper, DCPO, RPPO, Cargo (Jack of the dust) for the ship's watchbill this not including the S-5 Chief,LPO, and DCPO if S-2 doesn't control their DC book nor S-9 for ship's that have a real Chief Petty Officers Mess the petty officer in charge of this mess will be on the watchbill so why does any command need the galley watch itself when you have all these people there will be no way you can compensate that 5 and 2 watch and this will affect retention but the biggest problem is why isn't CS leadership and Supply departments in the fleet not saying anything is the real Navy really in the history books

It's not that stressful to be honest.
Each day it's work to do the job, take care of myself, and others but that becomes easier as I gained experience.
