  • This video is for the 3X3 mod air box on DRZ SM. Saw quite a few videos that I felt didn't do this justice. So I decided to make my own.

I did this in 10 minutes with a blow torch and a razor knife. Heat the blade till red and this will cut about an inch of the plastic at a time, no debris, no need to remove air box or filter. Looks WAY cleaner. Pro tip, a post it note is 3x3! Cheers

Not everyone has a blowtorch. My 1st attempt was with a knife and heating it with a candle, needless to say it didn't work out so well

Agree, took your idea and carefully heated the plastic with a heat gun (vs the blade) and cut the plastic.... yes this is the best and quickest method, done in 10 minutes.... no debris at all into the air box.

For anyone wondering do what he did to measure but then instead of having to cover everything up and all that heat the area with a hair dryer for a min or two hot then get a razor blade and it cuts effortlessly like butter and leave absolutely 0 debris and mess

Actually I love this comment. You are absolutely right. I didn't have a torch (For that method), I didn't have a dremel (For that method), . At the time, I used what I had (And what MOST people should have). A drill, a knife, vacuum, crazy glue, carpenters knife. Not everyone has a garage filled with air tools, 4K worth of wrenches, and 2K worth of specialty tools.

At the time of this video, I was still waiting on the FCR to arrive. And then When i received the Carb, i was told it was going to have the specific Jets, Needles, etc., already installed but it didn't (But the Great news was they gave me every Needle and Jet setup as possible) and I had to rejet it MULTIPLE times until i found the right "Set-Up" for my bike and my altitude. So long story short, I had too many videos of "Installing the FCR Carb" and didn't like the way the vidoes were coming out

Just sold it a few months ago. Went with a Husky 701 SM. Very happy with the Husky. I do miss the DRZ at times, because there are so many more mods you can do, then you can to the 701. But on the other hand, the 701 doesn't need much. But I love to "Change things up" when I get bored.

You should know your facts before opening your ignorant mouth. This was a house i rented for a couple months before my house was done being built. So why would I finish the flooring (In a 1 season Sunroom, nevertheless) in a house i do not own? And maybe you should learn to do wheelies yourself before you posting others doing wheelies on your profile, giving the impression you can wheelie yourself. I noticed on none of your vids, you doing a single wheelie. Your like the water boy (Oh I mean camera boy).
