Laura, yeah is his "daughter", but she's actually his clone. remember what Jurassic Park taught us, all vertebrate embryos are inherently female. I don't know if the scientists on the weapons plus program were thinking that a girl Logan would be easier to handle, but if they did, they've apparently never raised a daughter. lol She's Logan through and through
I think the adamantium is only on her claws, which gives her a better chance in the long run than Logan in the fight against Adamantium poisoning. The metal is toxic so Logan's immune system is cleaning his blood 24/7, taxing his healing ability and burning it out. without the metal and drinking and smoking, he could have lived for thousands of years or more if he stuck to clean living.
That’s called his berserker rage . It’s always in the comics but they never really show it in the movies till now.

In Wolverine, Logan was told that he'd "die holding his heart in his hand." We thought it meant literally when the robot was doing surgery, but after he survived, the end of Logan explains what Yukio was trying to explain. Made me cry all over again

Unfortunately they haven't done it in order or have already watched the others in their own time not on their channel.
Charles isn't freezing people. He is forcing everyone within his radius to experience his seizure with him. This has a damaging effect on everyone's brains, so they are basically paused. This is also why Logan can slowly move when no one else can. His brain is self healing, so he heals the damages almost as quickly as Charles causes it.
If you listen to the news on the radio after the Casino incident, you hear something about the "Westchester Incident." Westchester is where the X-Mansion was. Basically, they are hinting at the deaths of the X-Men.

When she turns the cross into an X - it's worth noting that Wolverine was known as "Weapon X"
This movie shows what a great comic book story can be, and how to tell it in movie form. Wasn't a lot of super powers, or BS, just a deep meaningful story with characters you got to know over a long period. It doesn't get much better than this.
Many directors forget that despite their superpowers these characters are just people. Most would be just as mortal as the rest of us.
Not really. Most comic books have horrible writing and cringe dialogue meant for psycho-emotionally fragile young boys with with low self-esteem. Almost everything people love about movies like the Dark Knight (Heath Ledger), the Dark Knight rises (Tom Hardy), and Logan are the creative & unique takes on characters and story arcs undertaken by the actors and writers. No offense. Just being honest.

@@mt570 Logan and Dark Knight sure but you can miss me with Rises. Movie is garbage. Begins is way better then Rises. I’d take 80% of marvel films and a lot of DC films over Rises. Logan is my favorite Comicbook movie of all time.
X1&2, Days of Future Past, and This are the only X-Films. Imo.

Logan was dying of Adamantium poisoning because of the fact that his healing abilities were diminished. He'd been poisoned by the Adamantium all along, but when his healing factor was stronger, it could protect him from it. Some people speculate that his powers diminished with age, others that the GMO food the Doctor created to suppress mutant genes, might have been the cause. The clone, X-24 was an imperfect clone according to director, James Mangold. He healed smaller injuries quickly, but when he was impaled on that farm equipment, he needed that injection to handle all those major wounds. They also used a much thinner coating of Adamantium on his bones, which is why the bullet was able to blow apart so much of his skull. When Charles said that he remembered what happened in Westchester. He was saying that he finally remembered that he'd had one of his seizures and killed all of the other X-Men.
Seeing this in theaters was insane. I haven’t cried so hard in a theater in a long time.
I saw it in the cinema, and it was a punch in the stomach. It was the first movie I loved, it was perfect, but I left the cinema feeling depressed, thinking that I can't watch it again.

An amazing film all around. It's odd how everyone misses that it was professor X who killed all the other X-Men. It's even mentioned briefly in the movie. That last scene though, where Laura turns the cross to form an X, damn, that hits hard.
What hit me so hard was when he was dieing he said to his daughter"so that's what it feels like"I'm normally quite stoic but that got me, love the" there are four lights"quote from the Star Trek episode where pickard got tortured by romulans.

His line of "So this is what it feels like" to me is 2 fold. I took it as him finally feeling what death feels like and what actual love feels like at the same time.
its never really explained in the movies, but has been seen a few times, where he actually can "die" and come back to life if he chooses to. He's done it a few times in the movies. I think at this point he is of course too weak to come back and just wants to rest.
This is the best Mutant genre film ever made, such a great movie.
I cry every time I watch this movie when Laura is holding Logan's hand as he is dying and says "Daddy" omg every time.
What Xavier was talking about that haunts him, when they are leaving the hotel after his seizure, the radio says the same incident happened before and killed the X-Men and some civilians. He ends up remembering it and that why hes so haunted in this depiction
yep he killed the xmen in one of his seizures. In the comics Wolverine kills the xmen, but in the movie Charles does.

In the comics her character was called X-23 but eventually she took on the codename Wolverine.
Also she was eventually discovered to be Wolverine’s actual daughter and not a distaff clone of him.
fun fact: she started off as an original creation for the animated series x-men evolution before eventually becoming canon to the comics very much like Harley Quinn

Not Doc Holiday's team is called the Reavers. In the comics, The Reavers lead by Callisto hunted down mutants and were mutants themselves, IIRC. Caliban was one of them, like they mentioned in the film. Its a nice nod to that arc. Also, Jane cracked me up this whole reaction.

That story the Professor was telling about the movie on TV and going to see it is from Patrick Stewart's own life. He started telling it during filming while staying in character and they decided to include it.
In the nineties, there was a short graphic novel. That established that his adamantium diverts his healing factor as it attempts to remove it as a poison.
Logan later has it removed when he attempts to kill Magneto by sneaking up on him.
Magnetic senses his attempt and rips it through Logan's skina.
Later, his healing factor is so great, that when run over and breaking most of his bones and stands immediately. Completely healed.

Me and my daughter went to this movie in theaters. She cried at the end and I was a little misty eyed too. Dam that was a great movie! If you’re a dad and have a daughter that’s into a level of action like this, this is a gold status film for it.

They wanted to have a cameo with Logan's half brother Sabertooth. But actor Liev Schreiber wasn't available due to scheduling conflicts. They never said who the boy Rictor, was talking to on the radio. But fans have speculated that it may have been a member of Alpha Flight, who are the Canadian equivalent of the X-Men in the comics. Even with the GMO foods suppressing new mutants, the original Alpha Flight members would have still been alive in that time.
This is by far my favourite Xmen-franchise movie, and near the top of my list for overall favourite cb movie, loved the vibe from the very first trailer.
😢 Ive had to watch Charles die three times. But his death in Logan is by far the worst. It was a freaking nightmare after the X-24 stabbed Charles
The "Go get her "seen was the best part of the movie. The entire movie was great. When she came walking out with that dudes head, i knew it was about to get crazy!
Logan was literally Marvel's very own version of The Last of Us.
This is one of a few movies that always makes me cry. Also, On My Block is a great show. I'm glad I gave it a chance. Had me crackin' up.

Yep, I got tears in the theaters. I’ve read every single comic book that Wolverine has ever been in, and I knew more or less how this would probably end. It still had me sad. I think they did a pretty good job for what they had to work with.
Fun fact: the bad guy said the anti-mutagene was in the food. Eating non-treated food would make the x factor to kick in again.
That's why logan got a little better after eating with the family. Those were natural food, not processed ones.
Another fun fact: not eating anything long enough, means the antimutagene will stop affecting the x factor.
And you cannot eat that much when you're buried in the ground.
So, technically, Logan's regeneration would kick back in, and ressurects him after some time.

I love that they showed one of his signature brutal moves from the comics, where he does an uppercut to someone's chin and extends his claws, sending them through their face where it comes out the top of their head and they captured it PERFECTLY. Another one of his fatalities is to disembowel someone by slashing through their stomach

What's really wonderful about the end of this movie is that Logan goes out exactly how Yukio told him he would in "The Wolverine"...holding his heart (Laura/X-23) in his hand.
Eden doesn't exist. What the kids found was an old fire watch station. That is why there's extreme binoculars there, and towers.

X + any number means that is a different version of weaponized mutants. Each one has it's own number. A handful of them are clones of wolverine and sometimes mixed with others.

One note X-23 is the girl and X-24 Was the guy x-23 shot in the end. X-23 goes on to join X-Force and then to join the X-Men but that's in another time line.
Laura is a clone of Wolverine with XX chromosomes instead of XY, hence X-23.

If You think killing the family was a bad cliche think about how much impact that cliche has on the narrative. All the main characters have reasons for why its important and needed to push the story and its believable plus the villians have a reason/ability to show up, plus they introduce a new villain with impact even though everyone knows its coming. Cliches are only bad when they have no effect/little on the narrative and when they are done masterfully they should be looked at deeper...
