FYI the reason for him getting a small birdo was simply he has a great sense of hearing that's why they gave him a small one with small chirpy tone to not make it feel like the bird's screaming to his ears.. great attention of detail from the author

The sad thing is even after the Hashiras had herd Tanjiro’s story about why he was carrying a demon with him they still tried to kill Nezuko but Zenitsu didn’t know why Tanjiro was carrying a demon he didn’t even know that the demon was a girl yet zenitsu still protected Nezuko from Inosuke because Tanjiro said it was important Zenitsu is a good man!

The Pillars have their own reasons. They lost their family and so many of their comrades to demons. They just want to do their duty which is eliminating a demon that could harm other people. In fact, Nezuko actually tried to kill some innocent people in the Red Light district arc. Imagining if Tanjiro wasn't there or if Tanjiro didn't find the way to calm her down, she would have massacred a lot of people.

@@simpitsu.mp4672 yes. Zenitsu's past or background is actually sad. He also blames himself and has self loathing all the time because he always thought he's a coward. He wants to be better but things dont go his way which I find really realistic (or is it just me but it happens for me all the time.) Its just sad that the anime makes him look more of a pervert than in the manga. For example, the night he saw nezuko the first time he just bowed at her but in the anime he chases her on the room. It makes me sad that others hate zenitsu because of that :((( he's one of my fave character and I find him soft and cute lol
2 fun fact about the ship that not everyone know:
1)During the period at the butterfly mansion,zenitsu held nezuko's hand and they run togheter at night in a camp ,where they made lots of flower's crown togheter.
2)After the events of the manga,tanjiro said zenitsu that if he wanted to become more than a brother or a friend to nezuko, he needed to become more responsible,so zenitsu he changed for her.Then he confessed,while tanjiro cheered for them and played with inosuke to distract him. That confession was....so loud that nezuko become deaf for a while😂😂😂😂😂(typical zenitsu)

You know what's also really amazing about Zenitsu, is that before he even knew it was Nezuko in the box, he's been protecting her. He protected her from Inosuke, he went to the spider forest because he wanted to protect her, and he protected her from that train dream demon. So if it weren't for him Nezuko probably wouldn't have been alive.

The most heartwarming fact from this is that the "stranger" they hugged was actually the guy who let tanjiro stay in his home because it was cold outside and he could get attacked by demons which is very touching to see him come back to the story.
I love me some Zenitsu. I wasn't so sure about him at first but he definitely grew on me quick. It cracks me up when he is going absolutely ape shit. His whole interaction with the spider demon was just friggin hilarious. And his dream on the Mugen Train was just so friggin wholesome and sweet. The innocence was precious.
They definitely had the mangaka’s favor cuz of how obvious the hints were. They were definitely cute together and my friend cringing at the ship was hilarious to me.

@@micah459 the author explained that Nezuko liked the guy who had protected her from Inosuke while she was in the box, but she didn’t know that was Zenitsu because they weren’t alike, as in, normal Zenitsu was always screaming and the likes. After the battle was over and Zenitsu told Tanjiro he wanted to confess to Nezuko, Tanjiro told him that he needed to change his attitude to be more responsable, and so Zenitsu did, and little by little, Nezuko started to realize that Zenitsu was indeed the guy who had protected her that time, so she started falling for him too.

One of my fave things about Demon Slayer as a whole is how none of the 3 Demon Slayer amigos could ever lie. They lived their truths through and through, Zenitsu is my favourite cos he is insane with his advances 😂 but very protective of all the people (women especially) around him. He isn't shy to say he is in love with Nezuko but loves to appreciate beauty too while being a fierce fighter!

Like someone pointed out, Nezuko thinks of everyone as family. That's why she refuses to hurt humans and that's also why she's quick to come to a bystanders aid when they're about to be attacked by demons. Unless that part of her changes, I don't think we'll be seeing her reciprocate any feelings towards Zenitsu. I haven't read the manga, but I like to assume once Nezuko turns back into a human that's when the start of a friendship-turned-lovers story with Zenitsu will happen.

For those who want to know what does Nezuko, in her demon and childlike state, think of Zenitsu, here is the translation from "Kimetsu no Yaiba Fanbook Two Taisho Rumors":
" *KAMADO NEZUKO*
Nezuko had always been a good listener since childhood and had never been selfish. When their grandmother died and then their father died, she told her siblings, 'This is hard for all of us, but Grandma and Dad would worry over us if we cried too much, so after crying a lot today, let’s try and smile again, all right?' Hearing this from their hallway, their mother and Tanjiro sobbed further.
When Inosuke first attacked her, she remembered Zenitsu held the box for her and protected her, and her heart skipped a beat when she recalled it, but she wasn’t sure about her memory because she felt like the boy who protected the box and Zenitsu were two different people.
However, Zenitsu, despite being a greenhorn [at many things], always protected Nezuko and never lied. Gradually, the boy [who protected the box] and Zenitsu’s image overlapped in Nezuko’s mind."
And fun fact: Zenitsu was actually a bit wary about Nezuko in the beginning. Not because she's a demon, but because he has been betrayed by girls before. Here's the full translation:

Zenitsu fell in love with Nezuko at first sight, but since her sense of self wasn’t back at that time, he had no choice but to ask Tanjiro what kind of girl she was. Its scary how Zenitsu's persona is same as I am. Im goal driven because of someone that fits my heart ( First Impression T_T ). But Im also that scaredy cat once. Although I failed her ( I dont know if its me or her but despite my great efforts to improve myself ) Im still happy she left me with an improved mature mind, a good physique, A great optimistic mindset, a great life goal and much more. I think this is how powerful love is which it can change you by being inspired. Im happy she left me because I have now a second chance to find someone greater than her.
