Joe "Be in the Right Now Moment" Rogan: Realize your thinking cycles and be at ease about it. Escape the momentum of your past by learning from your mistakes. It doesn't define you as a person, it's for growth, greater self-awareness and to evolve and develop into your own Being. Brilliant conversation!
You're working towards a legacy and being remembered for being rich and powerful. You working towards setting everyone else up for a more comfortable life.
Our brains constantly create problems and threats to its existence. Mindfulness is awesome because it helps the brain stop for a few minutes, to stop that constantly churning of problem solving activity. Workbooks like 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels are cool, so is the Tao Te Ching.
This is the greatest JRE clip of all time. This should be mandatory viewing for men at every stage of life but also helpful for ladies but in a different context. It's just that men of today have so many illusions delusions and Hang-Ups they need mindfulness more

Duncan Trussell is exactly Bill Burr's impression of the California guy who's like 'Hey man, I live near the ocean therefore I'm smarter man'. Seriously though, I like Duncan he's onto wise stuff :)

And as far as meditation goes, people should definitely try it. It really does help you keep a cool head in the everyday world.

WATCH THE MIND Watch the mind and see where it is, what it is. You will feel thoughts floating and there will be intervals. And if you watch long, you will see that intervals are more than the thoughts, because each thought has to be separate from another thought; in fact, each word has to be separate from another word. The deeper you go, you will find more and more gaps, bigger and bigger gaps. A thought floats, then comes a gap where no thought exists; then another thought comes, another gap follows. If you are unconscious you cannot see the gaps; you jump from one thought to another, you never see the gap. If you become aware you will see more and more gaps. If you become perfectly aware, then miles of gaps will be revealed to you. And in those gaps, satoris happen. In those gaps the truth knocks at your door. Osho

Because you're becoming aware of your anxious thoughts..which in turn causes you to feel things you avoid on a day to day basis. It doesn't GIVE you more anxiety... it brings your awareness to it. Brain jockeys practice authentic meditation techniques for years in order to rewire their brains to make them more conscious. Q. What does a brain jockey believe? A. A brain jockey does not cling to philosophical and religious beliefs. He observes that human beings have existence on two levels. A brain jockey maintains a sense of humor because he knows that life is short and entertainment is the only purpose of life. If you are not being entertained, there is no point in being here. Q. Will meditation make me wiser, healthier, and give me supernatural powers? A. Meditation will not make you smarter and has little to do with intelligence. Phony gurus over-sell meditation in order to increase their profits. If you have no profit motive in meditation you can tell the truth about its limitations. Meditation will not solve all of the world's problems or improve your health dramatically, and will not make you all-seeing and all-knowing. Meditation will never give you the power to walk on water, but it may make you feel as though you are walking in the clouds. If meditation does not spontaneously interest you, then do not force yourself. The stars will not fall out of the sky just because you decide to live a life without formal meditation practice. There are other positive things you can do to improve your life. Meditation may make you more comfortable, sleep better, and reduce your level of fear and tension, but it will not solve all of your personal, financial, and political problems, or turn you into a saint. Those who pose as saints, superheroes, and reincarnations of famous historic figures are either sincerely self-deluded or cunning frauds. Gurus who sell quick meditation methods, encounter groups, seminars, and television specials are just taking advantage of the naive. Funny thing is Buddhism really has very little to do with spirituality or religion. It’s more a scientific pursuit, at heart. The people that run with it, and snatch it’s concepts to sound “spiritually deep” are already BS’ing from the start lol. You build with the monks in one of those temples, guys’ll be engineers and mathematicians by education. Esp in places like Thailand where the gov has universities for the monks. A guy like Matthieu Ricard, whose a molecular geneticist is much closer to the “spirit” of a buddhist than a woo woo health instructor looking to sell some quote of the day calendars and a pilates membership.
Mindfulness doesn't make sense to me it means to be aware of something but people are always aware of something so people are always mindful, so there is no point in mindfulness.
I'd love to see you do a podcast with Eckhart Tolle!

That would cause the new Earth growth to become ramp it.

I'm a disabled veteran and i go to dialectical behavioral therapy(DBT) group once a week and they focus on mindfulness. It helps.
Thank you. You are an inspiration.
Good for you man. DBT is a great therapy for a lot of different clinical issues.
My husband is a disabled veteran was well, lots of combat tours under his belt. He says mindfulness is the only thing that has helped him move on.
