That moment when you're in a huge firefight, a flamethrower hulk is chasing you, your whole team is dead and then you manage to dial in the Reinforce only for that damn ball to bounce off a rock of safety and land right in the middle of hell.

I can confirm with the mines, have never killed a single enemy, but have killed myself and my teammates more times than I care to admit.

I mean, if you think about it, they are anti-personnel mines. And who are the only personnel on the battlefield?
There was a "Personal Order" a while back to kill X number of enemies with mines. I thought I'd be clever and throw them down in a couple of larger bug nests, get it done quick. Only, the first couple bugs would clear a path for all the rest, leaving all those mines there for me to blunder into later. (And leaving a nest you can't finish off because there's mines everywhere.)

my headcanon is that they only send down a max of 4 soliders at a time to prevent a lof of friendly fire, seeing as it happens so much already they dont need even more useless casualties by sending in 10 or more people
If you want a propagandistic lore reason then: "4 of our elite troopers are enough to clean a whole sector of alien scum, and every single helldiver is as elite as they get".
If you want the behind the propaganda reason then: "We are spread thin across 4 war fronts with multiple planets against 4 factions and the "homefront" so 4 is good enough to maybe survive and get heroic shots while other 4 are dying right in the next sector"
But really, 4 is good enough for this type of game and devs didn't expect enough players I think. That said, some optional or weekend maps with 2x, 3x, 4x the players and enemies would be fun, wouldn't it?

Even the voice actors are great, love when you’re spraying bullets and your helldiver starts laughing like a psycho.

Mortar sentry is goated. Pop it outside a base and slowly work your way in. Just hope that a bit drop doesn't happen on top of you, but you were probably dead either way in that case.

@@luigimrlgaming9484 I wouldn't go quite that far. Namely because there's times when it seems like the game is trying to govern when I can and can't complete missions (crashes for no good reason.) After so many, it's no longer fun for that time span and it's time to get some Liber-Tea before coming back with hopes a hotfix has dropped for those issues. If those issues weren't there, then I'd fully agree.

@@steeljawX The crashing isn’t too bad for PlayStation, although there is plenty of bugs to work out. I hope they used some of that profit to hire more programmers to iron these bugs out. The Terminid Microbes can’t keep you in cryosleep forever.

Same here. I can’t stick with a game. I get about 10 hours in and then move on.
Helldivers 2? It’s my top played game, became so after about a week of playing. I can’t stop playing it. It’s just good fun. It’s everything I wanted in a game. I have 151 hours in it and have no intention of stopping.
It’s the one game I cared enough about to get every achievement and every unlock in.
I actually feel guilty for not contributing to the galaxy war...

Seeing “754 friendly damage” being called a “healthy helping of friendly fire” made me think of the game where this guy just loved cluster bombs. Ended the game with 3400 damage and 10 friendly kills. Genuinely on accident.

I haven’t had that problem with players who are used to the eagles haha in the beginning and with some lower level randoms usually, but lately the people I’ve been teaming up with have all been strangely synced up with what each persons doing. I brought turrets during a defense mission and at first the dude was like “why did you bring turrets??” Next minute it’s stopping tanks and devastators in their tracks and he’s like “damn those are good!” Yeah you don’t run in when you hear the turrets coming, you wait, pick off the enemies that aren’t killed by them. Same with eagles, drop them right before a fabricator and bug hole. Obviously you’re not gonna be the only one with eagles so you gotta keep a look out for the big red lights going up to the sky haha
