I finished two abyss cycles with my Thomato burgeon team with 36 stars and it was really challenging. This team just magnifies how bad as a unit Thoma is, with his flimsy shield and the ridiculous EM and ER requirement to justify building a team around him. I just hope Nahida would improve this team as I love both Ayato and Thoma.
If you are worrying about survival, nahida is a catalyst user so if she is not a healer, she can still use prototype amber to heal.

@@damachu2063 nahida is coming 3.2. Baizhu, as usual, is still dead in terms of leaks. Nothing until 3.6+
Main issue with adding overload into the team comp is that you then restrict what content the team can go against, since there's only anti-grouping. It's certainly better against bosses and in single target, though. I've opted to focus on bringing an anemo grouper/driver in order to increase the effectiveness of the aoe nature of burgeon. The fast hydro, slow dendro issue is somewhat mitigated by having more enemies to create cores off of and anemo to spread XQ's hydro application to prevent burning.
Similar. I’ve been using Bennet Q > Dendro MC QE > Kokomi/XQ Q > Kazuha EQ (swirl pyro) > Kokomi NA driver and it’s been pretty devastating.

if electrocharge doubles the amount of blooms you get, it seems like the main difference from double dendro is just that you need xingqiu to apply hydro fast enough. after the initial bursts of ~4 seeds upon using thoma burst, from 7:15 i count about 11 seeds in 20 seconds for double dendro fast hydro and from 10:00 i count 8 seeds in 15 seconds for the solution. these are within the margins of what is assessable just from general inspection rather than hard number crunching. the main benefit to me seems to be that you can use kokomi for a slower hydro but in an aoe, which, counting from 10:30, generates about 13 seeds in 15 seconds, albeit against two targets. however, this is also somewhat constrained by the need for them to be close enough together for fischl to hit both with electro. you're doing good work but i feel that the editing for these summaries you post to youtube tends to result in overly vague statements that overstate the difference between the options you have

I feel pretty proud to have found this team relatively fast, though I am using variation that uses kokomi and beidou because I am dogshit at dodging.
My go to burgeon team for abyss is Tartaglia, Dendro Traveler, Bennett, Kazuha (trigger). Still has the big Tartaglia vape, and rotations are pretty smooth, just extremely hard to double swirl against a single enemy due to dendro (without messing up the rotation due to staying on Tartaglia longer), but possible against multiple enemies. Since I hate Xiangling, this is my "international" Tartaglia team.
Burgeon isn't the worst dendro reaction. Burning is.

I was running an over-burgeon team before it was cool. Mona, Xiangling, Fischl and MC.
Not because it's good, but because it's the first characters I had leveled, but it was pretty damn explosive team.
I tried Burgeon with Ayato/Xingqiu-Kokomi-DMC and Thoma. My Thoma is lvl 88 and 820 em, the burgeon damage hits hard but the there were just not enough cores to burgeon. I wanted a solution to this because I really love Thoma and used him when I could even before Dendro. Now that he's good in a team...I want to play this team the best I can. Thanks Zajeff!
drop dmc or xingqiu for yaoyao, im guessing your dendro application is too low with DMC
Imagine Nahida somehow able to be fast dendro applier (catalyst on field means she can apply dendro from multiple source to pass icd). Use her along fast hydro applier off field like XQ, she could be the easy fix of burgeon. And still hope she is a healer to help aggravate team build.
I also wonder if she can maintain a Dendro aura as an on field driver. I feel like Xingqiu will apply too much hydro at higher constellations though. Maybe Yelan?
I love how everyone's suggestions for how Nahida can fix Dendro always turn into "Dendro Kokomi" so quickly.

@@KategariYami considering what happened to kokomi, I highly doubt mihoyo would make any archon a healer. It would tank the sales to these dps meta slaves who would automatically assume she’s useless because she keeps the entire team alive lol.

The team that's been working out more than okay for me is Ayato, Thoma, Dendro MC and Collei.
Dendro MC Q > Ayato Q > Collei Q-E > Thoma Q-E > Ayato E slashes and thats is, i don't usually count the seeds, i just know everything dissapears withing seconds.
It's worth to mention my Thoma is Triple crowned and C6 haha, and he has a pretty good build (I loved him since his release and somehow I've always make him work for my teams), I just replaced crit stats for EM and managed around 500 but still kept that juicy 180% ER which pretty much keeps his burst up on CD.
Tldr; fischl is broken, Dendro makes her more broken, build her NOW.
I dont know why I like these videos so much, im not even a meta chaser but it's so interesting to see stuff like this, I dunno it's just super interesting to watch

My impression with Dendro MC is that Aggravate is just such a simple and consistent (and effective) reaction that bloom and bloom derived teams just don't interest me too much.
The "demanded performance" from Dendro characters in aggravate teams is just so low, that it seems to fit characters such a Dendro MC really well.
I feel like the reactions that have most to "win" with a fast, high uptime dendro applicator are the bloom and bloom derived teams.
Dendro+ Bennett, Fishl and XQ is actually the burgeon team which is think it's most intriguing right now. Thankfully I don't have C6 Bennett, so I can give it a try.
Kind of disagree on this one. From my experience burgeon with Thoma are almost capped by the two maxed explosion damage on a single target at once, and not by the amount of seeds, cuz with aoe hydro and dendro on two targets at once, they only need to generate one seed each, and a single Pyro hit on both targets procs the two maxed explosion damage.
I ran Kokomi dmc collei Thoma and it works perfectly fine on abyss first half with no burning and usually always gets the two burgeon procs per tick if the enemies group together. It’s a bit messy cuz there’s no direct CC but I disagree with your analysis on why burgeon is bad
I mean it doesn’t matter how many seeds you generate only two will damage the enemy. I don’t think burgeon is as bad though. Plus I don’t like the idea of overload in aoe situations unless enemies are heavy
Pretty much this. Burgeon is like Taser. Great for AOE, mediocre for single target. I think that since this is a largely ST abyss, people are assuming Burgeon is bad because they're using it in an abyss that doesn't work well with it.

Thoma Sucrose Xingqiu DMC is my Burgeon team. Seems very efficient and is very comfortable. I'm curious about it's DPS Vs Childe national and old taser.
We do need theorycrafters to find simple rules for bloom creation rate of different teams. I'm not sure if Lisa/Kuki Hyperbloom could beat Burgeon, but I have a feeling that Burgeon has a higher ceiling because of AoE
Burning is much worse and since you'd want to reduce pyro res, you'd bring an anemo to shred pyro res using vv. And even that pyro swirl will be doing more damage than Burning as long as there are 2 or more enemies together.
burning should either do way more damage or shred pyro res. In its current state its something you try to actively avoid.

@@RadialSeeker113 That's a fun idea but the problem with that is that it would buff vaporize and melt to even stronger levels than they already are.I have a feeling that burning not being a reaction you want to actively avoid was actually intentional so that pyro characters would see less use in dendro teams.
I think its safe to say hoyo won't touch or buff any existing reactions in any way shape or form (if they did they would have buffed superconduct and overload)but a fun Idea I had was if burning acted similarly to quicken but still had it's dot, but depending on if you applied more pyro or dendro/electro it would give a reaction similer to corrosion and withering.

I can see HuTao,Xingqiu,zhongli,dendro. Is pretty good.
And Xiangling,xingqiu,bennett,dendro. Is also a good team cuz Xiangling ascend EM, give her a dragon bane, and some EM in artifact. I think that's a good burgeon team too.
if Kuki's healing scales with HP and EM, then Thoma's shield should too. then he's a GREAT, versatile, burgeon driver.
I've played with the hutao team a bit and you really have to adjust your playstyle. You really need a Kokomi and even a xingqiu if you want smoother play. But essentially you have to make sure that her first normal attack preformed before you charge to NEVER hit the enemy. You want to only be hitting with only your charged attack lunge, making sure you aim for the seeds, usually you don't wanna cancel your charged attack attack because, basically what you are doing is making your self apply pyro slower. If you know what i mean. By making it so so ur first normal before the charged doesnt hit and then letting the full animation play out you can have some pretty good pyro application that isn't too overwhelming. Of course its still a burgeon team so it's not AMAZING but just wanted to let you know that some teams need playstyle adjustments to make them work, which i think is very cool. Not only do we get new teams but new ways to play characters 😁

When they add weather elements in abyss. Rain, lakes, rivers, torches, etc. Dendro reactions will shine.
I still don't get why this still isn't implemented yet, sure lower floors have water floors but why not add them to upper floors? Why don't we have Grass fields abyss? Maybe Lava floors in Natlan patches?
It's ok to have burning when running double dendro with a fast hydro. you causes burning occasionally, yes, but also generates so many seeds.
Problem with adding electro is that you now causes overload. Playing overload without crowd control is really bad against small enemies. And against heavy enemies, just play hyperbloom.
Actually, Im somewhat wrong. Fischl here adds so much of her personal damage, while double dendro right now with dmc and collei both don't do any damage in the team. So running Fischl is still very nice. But double dendro is not bad either.

Burgeon teams you play because you like it but as we can see using your solution of putting electro like Fischl in there will end up into you playing a Pyro character instead of anemo effectively nerfing damage grouping and survivability because burgeon does self damage
Iirc Candace overrides Bennet's C6 with hydro infusion, so I see how it changes on-field C6 Bennet. Probably still sub-optimal due to slower hydro app

Dendro will be better when we get our Dendro versions of Fischl, Beidou/Xingqiu, Raiden, Eula, Childe, etc.
Basically Xinyan charged attacks with hydro infusion from candance and her own slow pyro application could make it work

What about a team like Ayato, DMC, Kazuha, Bennett? Where you have Kazuha trigger the Burgeons. He is already built on EM so that wouldn't be an issue. I really like this comp but I was not sure if it performs that well. What are your thoughts?
Everything will work if your chars build enough
Zajef showcased a Tartaglia-Collei-Bennet-Kazuha team before (due to them having 15 sec rotations), it's one of the ones he has said can perform ok. I'm sure it's roughly the same though honestly Ayato is likely easier to use due to his almost constant hydro application.
That said, he wasn't super enthusiastic about it, and it seems like adding an electro to the mix has upped his opinion of burgeon teams a bit.

Burgeon is much better if you're running an anemo unit swirling Hydro or pyro depending on your comp, what I use is Bennett, Kazuha, DMC and Ayato, Kazuha triggers the burgeons with his pyro infused burst and you can time the rotation so you pretty much always get seeds instead of burning

Have you tried Childe-Kazuha-Bennett-Dendro? Dendro char and Childe to trigger blooms and Kazuha to trigger burgeon. It deals a ton of dmg and you still have healing, CC, buffs, access to Childe burst and Kazuha scales from EM anyway

thanks for this! i leveled up kuki and thoma to 80 at the start of 3.0 because i thought it would be fun to do bloom type reactions but ended up not using thoma as much and regrtted using up all the exp. but fischl does mostly fix the problem!
don't worry they are pretty much worth it now. this video is right before Nahida came to the picture. Hyperburgeon teams are what i use nowadays thanks tp Nahida. Dendro MC is hard to use on Burgeon teams since you can mess up pretty easily.

Ive been having fun with Widsith Klee, Kokomi, Dendro MC, Kazuha(mostly for swirling klees bombs in) I dont use it in abyss yet. But its fun and the damage seems good

Interesting how Electro helps to prevent/fix accidental Burning.
But is it necessary on AoE with fast Hydro? Since we generate more seeds with AoE Dendro hits from Traveller, maybe an Anemo grouper can improve the team further.
From my experience, it may not be necessary to have electro crowd setting. The solution was intended to get as many seeds as you can, which a crowd of enemies can easily provide for you. As long as the traveler can hit two or more WET enemies every hit, you're golden as the damage is capped at 2 cores per 0.5 seconds anyway.
Adding electro, however, can add more damage coz you'll be overloading instead of vaping (which is great for Full EM pyro)

This is why I love Amber and Yoimiya. Here is what you don't probably know... After causing a toon of blooms, if you hit one bloom with Pyro, it sets off a chain reaction. SO say you use Collei's burst and then use Kokomi's jellyfish and normal attacks... you get a ton of blooms. Then you switch to Amber and aim at a bloom with a charged attack. BOOM. Tons of damage.
You could also throw her Baron Bunny out THEN create all the blooms... BOOM!
If you have Amber constellations... you can shoot the Baron Bunny to detonate it triggering the Burg.
Or you can use her burst after the setup and it will also trigger the burg.
Burg doesn't suck. You just need to know how it works and use units that nobody looks at because "Amber sucks" or "I don't have Yoimiya."

Consider this... If you use any other Pyro outside of those who can add pyro on command instead of a lingering effect... what you get is a vape mess or a burning mess.
Here's the thing.... Those blooms have nothing to do with the elements on the enemy after they have been triggered. Simply using pyro on any of the seeds will set it off. You do not need to hit the enemy with Pyro at all. Just the fruits.
Which is where Amber comes in. Throwing out Baron Bunny will add a fuse to the scattered blooms for a timed explosion... if you have Amber's constellation you can simply detonate Baron Bunny by shooting at it... OR you can just fire a flaming arrow at a bloom.

The more I look at the thundering furry comp, the more I think razor is actually a stand user (specifically star platinum). Literally ora ora his enemies with destructive blows and has a short range. If only he could stop the time

Correct. Regardless of the amount of seeds you have if they all explode at the same time you'll never do more than 2 instances of damage. This is why More dendro doesn't solve Burgeons problem.
Hyperbloom for example has travel time to it's target so it can do damage and kinda get past the 0.5 limit unlike Burgeon.
generating cores to consistently burgeon two at a time is difficult in single target with the dendro options we have now. video proposed a solution, but i think it really only matters in single target or chambers with lesser enemies

And unlike other burgeon 4man teams, all you'll need is hutao, xinqui, dendro trav.... + last flex slot, can be a healer shielder grouper or sub-dps

Hu tao is bad because you're applying too much pyro (blood blossoms and NA + CA has separate ICD iirc) so you will end up with burning far more than usual.
It is arguable that one could just not attack to control pyro app but then you'll be losing XQ procs which are important hydro app for burgeon, not to mention you are pretty much forced to run a shielder because hu tao loses HP from her E and now with burgeon too.
That isn't to say it won't work, it definitely will, but i think it's a waste of her potential when she can be just used for vape comps.
Hmm... really iffy about how you Showcase Thoma for a Burgeon team. So I am very skeptical with this showcase, like you shown off the reaction's weakness but never work around it with different Team Comps. Like how you don't put DMC, Kokomi and Fischl with him. Or you can replace Fischl with either CC Anemo Unit as you can use Sucrose or Kazuha to suck up the Dendro Cores.
Edit: What I meant for the Abyss Run. The Domain run is a good example but I still stand he should have used that team for "consistent damage" as he said.

I think bergeon is about how we use it on correct scenario enemy. Burgeon will be good on multi target. In multi target every enemy produce seed and only 2 seed does the damage.
