- This was definitely a semester filled with ups and downs but despite the challenges, I came out of it having grown as a person. Hopefully this video gives you some insight into Medical School and my story which you could potentially use as inspiration.

I studied medicine in Pécs for one year and I hated it so much, luckily I passed the entrance exam in Austria and could continue my studies there.
The first 2 years are rough here. I’m glad you managed to find an alternative though, congrats!

4:55 I can completely relate. I am a med student in Semmelweis and bioohysics is by far the subject I hate the most. They just spit an insane of amount of information about the physical aspects of different things and how the machines apply all these physical phenomena to work in great detail. They say that they do that to enhance our scientific mindset, but the only thing they are doing with this is making me to absolutely DESPISE physics. None of the things that they teach us will be relevant in my life, and here I am learning everything.
100% , it’s very frustrating especially because Hungary is so theory focused so when you reach the subjects that are not really relevant, it’s difficult to see the end of the tunnel.
@@CamMedLife Yeah, but I guess that's the price to pay to reach our dreams (aside of paying more than 9k usd per semester).

Hello I think to come here with Erasmus programme for general medicine in 4th year from Romania, do you guys recommend it do they pretend same to Erasmus students or it’ll be a bit easier ? I’ll be really happy if I get your opinion also Cam
Quite a few of the Erasmus students we get here in the general medicine program seem to fine. Often times they have less classes than us because they have a slightly different curriculum and only need some of our classes to stay on track within their program. I can’t say much more though unfortunately as I’m speaking from an outsiders perspective.
I‘ll be in Pécs from August 1st - I‘ll start in the german faculty of the medical school. If anyone is bored and wants to hang out some time hmu 🤙😁

@@sondosssss5 2,5 - bin über ein Stipendium da, da gibts andere Kriterien. Human gibt es auch 180 Plätze, Zahn nur 40

Yeah, it has its own charm. Every place has its positives and negatives. At the end of the day I will always be grateful to Hungary for being given the opportunity to study medicine.

Hi Cam, Thank you so much for your videos and insights. This is by far the best source of information I have seen on medical school experiences in Hungary. I am trying to decide between med schools in Hungary and Romania and was wondering if you researched or considered Romania when applying for med schools? I read somewhere that only 10% of students at Pecs graduate without repeating at least year. Is this true? Also, what percentage of students join straight out of high school versus after a bachelors degrees?
Hey, thank you for reaching out. I did not do research into Romania when applying to med schools so unfortunately I don’t know much about Romania. I looked into Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic. I’m not sure if that percentage is exactly correct but a lot of people do end up repeating a year here. The system is really challenging BUT, I believe that if you proactive and work efficiently during the semester, there is no reason why you cannot stay on track. I would say most people join straight out of high school or after 1 year of a pre-med course. There are some who have a previous bachelors degree but they are definitely in the minority. im moving to pécs for medical school soon, but I don't want to share a room in the dormitory with a roommate I want my own room alone due to personal reasons, is that an option?
Hey, congrats on the acceptance! 👏🏻 I understand your concern. I think it might be a possibility if you email the dormitory and see if certain accommodations can be made. Hey, you do not need Hungarian to get around as you can make yourself understood in most places in the city. The English is definitely growing in influence in the city. We do have some Hungarian classes in the University though.
I am currently studying Bsc MLT ( 4 year ). I am interested to apply Msc clinical laboratory science in university of Pecs . Is it worth to apply for this course. Is there any scope for job after course completion.
I wish I could help but I don’t know anything about that course unfortunately. Maybe try and get in contact with the University and see if they can guide you on your question

@@thembahopelubisi8174 I am lucky to have a Greek passport on top of my South African passport and there is a Hungarian-based company that provides loans to EU citizens. Unfortunately this isn’t available for non-EU citizens as of now but I hope it changes.

Be happy I lost a year due to the skill tests
And the written biology tests are even in person way to hard
