- Do you think your turbo has failed?
Does your turbo have shaft play?
This video shows in depth what causes shaft play and how to check if your turbo has failed.www.MDCdiesel.com - Krátké a kreslené filmy
This is literally the only video you will need to watch if your turbo has ANY end float, an excellent explanation 👍
Straight to the point and very well explained! Seeing the turbo cutaway like that was very helpful in understand how lubrication and bearing work. I always appreciate these educational videos that don't have a bunch of shouting, music and annoying messing around. Thank you!
That's what's up my man.
Straight to the point.
Phenomenal video that you so much! So in depth thank you for the breakdown
Most informative video I’ve seen!! VERY GOOD
Very informative video! Great work mack!
Awesome vid.
Answered all my questions and got straight to the interesting points.
Best video. Very clear.
Excellent explanation and illustration. I thought there was shaft play at first, but no in/out and I was gonna have to buy a turbo. It seems perfectly normal after learning more about what's normal/failed Thanks
Thank you for this video!!!!!! My turbo is leaking from hot side. Just fixed my oil drain fitting in the oil and and if it still leaks I’ll do a rebuild. But I did buy a new center cartridge just in case.
Thanks for the explanation dude really helpful
Great video
Great! Thank you.
Great video, I bought a S261sx-e, lasted a month. Im running 600bhp at 2.7bar. Just upgraded the thrust from a 270 to a 360°. See how it goes. If it goes again. It means im pushing the turbo too fast. Will have to get a bigger turbo as i can't live without high boost.
great video! Thank you :)
Good information. I wish i knew that before i got my new turbo.
I will now put on a new pair of pants
Good explanation very helpful...i got my surplus turbo....and i saw it on your explanation i thought its not good bcoz it has a play side by side..
According to you its ok....thanks ...
brilliant
Finding oil in the hot part is the seal only failed because haven't pleat front and back. How to seal the cold part is used gasket or RTV. I found white stuck stuff but don't know hat is if is a gasket how is called this type. Thank You Sir
i have little forward and back shaft play when turbo is hot. but there is no shaft play after its cold. so what u think about it?
how about for dual ball bearing turbo?
question, my turbo is an original, has done 150,000 miles, 40k miles tuned, i purchased the car on 139k, it felt like it had axial play when i checked it after buying it, still has the play, but im not burning any oil that i can see, and there is no damage to the compressor wheel, i have done 10k miles myself, no siren noises etc, do you think it will die at some point.
👍
Mine is fine I just feel shaft play side to side which is normal but I see scratches on the sides which does not look good
I clocked a turbo now it's rubbing ?
so why the thrust bearing erode? Oil lubricantion not enough?
Most thrust bearings failures occur when the shaft speed exceeds its limits. Meaning the shaft spins so fast that the oil is ejected from the bearing faster than the oil is replaced.
@@MDCDiesel what i found with my turbo, the oil feed inlet restriction adapter hole size 1mm..maybe not suitable for journal bearing
Heard Mdc was doing a turbo giveaway ?
Scott Sierra yes we are! When we hit 5000 subs!
Hi, I have a reconditioned one, the problem is the shaft, it touches the housing when moved side ways. only on one side, the other side does not move up to the wall/housing. Without moving sideways it does working/spins freely. No in/out play at all.
Exactly how mine is
Well my turbo is smoked… 😢, thanks for the info
Great video
