  • I think this was a love song? I am lost for words. Well I say everything I need to in the video. What an amazing band and how gifted and talented these artists were. We have to take leaf out of their book when it comes to music. An amazing dynamic sound..... modern for its time!

    I like your reactions, I am impressed with what you pick up on a 1st listen, you have a good ear and your are always on point. You have only scraped the surface of their work, but they have been good ones. Many suggestions can be made, another that is different and I like as it really highlights all members is Dragon Attack live at Montreal great quality clip, don’t miss the short reprise at the end czcams.com/video/aWwS7pMyhCs/video.html More of a jam session

      They got better as they aged. I saw them live twice, first in the mid 70s and then at Wembley in 1986. There was a difference, a progression in their performance. Wembley was THE best gig I've ever seen.

    This is my favourite version of this song. Everything about it is perfection. Freddie’s vocals , Brians piano and guitar , the backing vocals and the drums. Brian describes Roger as a musical drummer and I think that shows beautifully here. He’s so restrained - almost delicate - in the first half of the song then in the second half he ups the ante so to speak. John and Roger were known as Half a Sonic Volcano.

    Absolutely the Best!!! I love this song and especially the performance! You have to remember that back then there were no devices, no click tracks, no timing aids, etc., they watched each other incredibly closely to play each song. Freddie never sang the same song the same way twice. It's all in their eyes...the clues of when to start and stop and change. If you want to Rock Out, try Fat Bottomed Girls at the Bowl (incredible live performance) and Stone Cold Crazy at the Rainbow. Great reaction!! I am reallly enjoying this journey into the music of my life! Thanks!

      Thank you for your comment and also your suggestion. Yes back then no back equipment to save the artist. All they had was real raw talent. 💯 Annnd you're absolutely right. Every Queen reaction I have done so far has not been the same. This is because every Queen song/ performance has not been the same. Sometimes I find artists are too one dimensional and this is quite boring. QUEEN on the other hand...... are anything but. Sad they no longer exist the same way. 😥 RIP Freddie Mercury. 🎙

    Did you notice at the start of the second verse, Freddie momentarily forgot the words but covered it well. And Brian sitting at the piano with his guitar slung across his back, ready for a quick swap over later on when he did his guitar solo and Freddie went back to the piano. Flawless! They were consummate professionals, all of them. Can you check out Now I’m Here live at Wembley. Roger’s drumming will blow you away, Deacy (bass player in case you don’t know) is having a wonderful time bopping away. He’s our Dancing Queen. And Freddie is so energetic, his voice is amazing. I think we’re the same, growing up in the age of autotunes... LOL 😂 But luckily in the country where I live in, singers here have a pride of honing their crafts to the fullest extent in singing. They seldom to never use autotune that’s why seeing Freddie performing like this is just like what I always expect from him knowing that he is a lead singer of a very successful band. What I am in awe though, whenever I see Queen perform they’re always tight. They always do everything better than what is expected from them especially when it comes to playing instruments. They always take you on a journey not just merely repeating what’s on the record. They’re never boring and that’s how I consider them as geniuses. It’s like when it comes to live performances they always know how to work on their charm through music to capture the audience. And I think Freddie is the one who has a lot of creative juice in that department and chose the right band to exercise whatever wonders he is working in his mind.

    • @HAP3SPEAKZ
      @HAP3SPEAKZ  Před 4 lety +6

      Excellent comment!! Agree with you, I can also sense a lot of fights behind the scenes as the band worked together to achieve this level of professionalism on the stage. Really in shock how well they "ride the beat out" as we say in hip-hop. 🎤💕🎹

    • @MsAyu15
      @MsAyu15 Před 4 lety +4

      HAP3SPEAKZ True, as what Freddie said in an interview they are like “four cocks fighting” all the time. That’s what happens when all members are CEOs in one band. It’s good tho that they have a bond like a family. That’s why no matter how much they cut on each others throats they always stick together to continue doing what they love, which is music. As a result they bring out the best in each other to give a perfect performance on stage.

    You should react to Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. It has awesome drumming and guitar. It’s an earlier rock song in their catalog and this performance of it is amazing.
    They were the first group to include the audience in their show. They were big on wanting to create music to spark audience participation. Back then it wasn’t done. That’s the reason for Brian writing We Will Rock You and Freddie writing We Are the Champions.
    You should react also to Love of My Life live at Wembley 1986 to witness the fans love for Freddie and his ability to have them eating out if his hand.
    They were truly one of a kind. All 4 of them wrote a hit record and they were all college educated which was not the normal back them. They were also the first group to play live behind the iron curtain in Budapest in 1986.

    Another great reaction! Yes, all of the members from Queen were multi instrumentalist. This was something different from what you have been listening to, Queen had many different sounds. If you want to hear something on the opposite scale such as heavy metal Queen, check out Ogre Battle live Hammersmith Odeon 1975, czcams.com/video/c7eRB-dQsBo/video.html&start_radio=1. John Deacon gets over looked at times because he didn't sing, and because he is obviously the bass player, but he is often in the top of best ever rock bassist, he was a very good rhythm guitarist as well. There are some songs such Cool Cat czcams.com/video/kToCuYfkGI4/video.html, were John played the guitar, the drums, the bass and the keyboard. This is also a very different song, it is really Motown.

    The reason Freddie went to the piano key near Brian in the beginning Is to get the correct timing right, and not mix everything up. Back then their was no ear piece so you had to get the sound wave from the in stage monitors, so it was wise if Freddie to go and get the correct timing.

    If I am not mistaken, this is the song where Brian, Roger or John, in an interview, had commented that having written it, Brian originally planned on doing the vocal himself....until he had Freddie sing it. He said Freddie sang it so beautifully & with such passion & better than he ever could have that he had to have Freddie be the one to sing it.... so typically generous & wise of Brian, and another example of how Queen all believed their audiences deserved only the absolute best of every performance they gave. Only the absolute best was ever good enough for their fans who, as they often remarked, "spend their hard earned money to buy their ticket to Queen concerts." There are many reasons to admire Queen for things beside their great music... they are/were such likeable chaps! And may I make a casual suggestion from a fan of HAP? Can we all take a few minutes out to help HAP by attaching the link to our suggested songs and save him the searching time ? This will also help him react to your favorite version of the song & hopefully he can do more reaction videos for us. And give him a few details too, he loves info details!!! Sailor Suzie

    To make sure they started at the same time is exactly why Freddie did that. As there had been an occasion at a previous show where they played this , Freddie started singing 'it started off so well' but Brian wasn't playing, Freddie stopped singing and said 'it didn't start off so fucking well' 🤣

    I enjoy your reactions, you're perceptive & knowledgeable. I find all the Queen songs worthwhile. Even the 'weaker 'or 'bad ' songs are interesting in some way. Freddie 's voice stands out in all cases. He opens his mouth & the most beautiful sounds just pour out. By the way, Freddie & Queen stood out as unique back then, believe me. I'm only 3 years younger than Freddie & nobody else was like them. There were many good singers & some good bands, but nobody had the talent, skills & hard work of Queen. And no single singer was as complete & accomplished as Freddie. Some of the closest: George Michael, David Bowie, Annie Lennox , Aretha. In most cases, eventhe best didn't have his range or mastery of the voice. They couldn't match his overall musicality., or songwriting genius. He also produced much of Queen 's work was a creative force of nature, encompassing styles including rock, pop, rockabilly, blues,ragtime, jazz, gospel & opera. Virtually everything but country, although some of the older rockabilly is close. Even his piano skills: he downplayed his own piano playing, but it was unique , effective & perfect for his music. He didnt think it was good enough. The point is, Freddie had all these capabilities at once. Unmatched, truly unique, once in my lifetime of almost 72 years. I don't anticipate seeing his like again.

    Queen deserved a Grammy award for album of the year with this album and they didn't get it. They did not win an award with Bohemian Rhapsody or Another One Bites the Dust or so many other incredible songs that they released. I got sick and tired of the academy and I quit watching them in the 1980s because I didn't know where in the heck some of these people were getting award from. The albums that seem to sell the most weren't even getting nominated!!

      Really? This my point. These guys were really pushing the envelope. They got overlooked, stepped on and didn't get the respect they deserve. If it is true what you're saying. How sad and how bad the academys were.

    I'm late I didn't get notified for this Video. So Instead of writing a late big comment I'll just point out a random thing. At 3:08, Look at Freddie. He forgot the Lyrics 😂😂😂 BUT ONE OF THE REASONS WE LOVE HIM, HE KNOWS HOW TO SAVE MOMENTS LIKE THAT. I mean look how great He saved that, no one even noticed it. (the reason I know that he forgot the lyrics there and that it wasn't a vocal style thing is because Brian himself said Freddie forgot the lyrics there 😂 If Brian wouldn't have pointed that out I also wouldn't have noticed 😂) And another random fact, in the Studio Version of this song Freddie hits his Second Highest note EVEN 3 TIMES but it is hidden under Brian's Guitar solo so you can only hear that on acapella's OR a version without Brian's Guitar. (the note he hit 3 times was a D6 and his highest is F#6 so that's why I'm saying his second highest. Because F#6/F6 is his Highest. and the note under F6 is D6 and that was the note he hit. Yes.

      @@HAP3SPEAKZ Well I'm not 80 or something, I am also in the hip hop world. (I don't really know how describe that rn) but I'm 15, I do listen to rap too. But never thought of saying musical mercenary, that's going on my Daily Vocabulary now 😂 But yes Freddie was on the fullest stage of Aids and he couldn't even stand up anymore and he still did music and sounded so damn Godlike. He was the most amazing Singer. If you'll get to those songs you will be surprised of how he sounds better while being ill than Healthy people nowadays if you get what I'm saying. Well Freddie is a legend and 2pac too. But still they are on different genres of music so I don't really compare them.

      Queen, 2pac to me both are visionaries and pushed the music forward. That is my conclusion thus far. Correct they are both from different genres yet enlightened fans from both worlds. With similar principles. This is why they crossed over to all ages, all races and all people from all walks of life.

    Studio version of the song has a couple of advantages - Freddie doesn't have to save his breath in the second verse, also though Brian always played the break in this song note-for-note the same, in the studio version he works the wah pedal a bit

    A quick little story behind Freddie going to Brian at the beginning: I think in Stockholm, Sweden that year they were meant to start the song, but when Freddie started to sing, Brian wasn't quite ready with the piano. You know the first line of the song: "It started off so well"... Well, after Freddie sang the first line, there were a few seconds of silence, and Freddie goes "It didn't start off so fucking well!". That's hilarious to listen to, but I think there's no video for it though.

Queen dident now that so they think the audience was so still that they begun to bee angry, and think what the hell is wrong? But the crowd cant sit stil on a Queen consert. When Freddie sing with them for sher them up they nearly song back to him, and he dont understand why, and Yes the director had said so to them OMG he most have been blown in head, and he surtenley dont now what Queen was 🤭😂😂

    There are only good songs, LOL... Brian is said to have written this song about a friend's experience of getting a divorce :~( Yes, these guys were incredibly devoted to their craft, disciplined, perfectionists in the studio, professional on stage, well rehearsed behind the stage performance. They did indulge in drink & drugs some, but none were lost to it as was so common during the classic rock era. They played a lot of Scrabble on the road, lol. #queenreaction
