    I absolutely loved your shortcut tip on how to remove the center diff, I subscribed immediately! I'm also experiencing some diff problems with my Shredder. Do you have any troubleshooting tips on "how to determine which diff needs repair?" I'm losing traction, I hear extreme winning noises, but I can't tell where it's coming from. In a hand-held test, it feels like both the front and rear are pulling the same... my center diff (recently installed) is a brand new, stock replacement. Could it be my new replacement needs work, or could it be my front or rear diffs? Thanks bro, awesome video!!!

  • @dgmenace73
    @dgmenace73 Před 3 lety +1

    Sweet!!! Thanks for video. I just recently purchased a Redcat Shredder V2 offline that was supposed to be like new. Well, I had to order all front bearings, new steering servo saver, aluminum steering knuckles, front and center diffs (ordered with metal spur gear already installed). I don't know much about tuning differentials. The Pro-Line Masher tires balloon very bad and the gears sound loud, not as loud as it was. I ordered a new pinion gear too. What do you recommend as far as gear oil for front/rear diffs? it looks like 1000M for center diff right? I don't care if it slows down some. I will be running it on 4s. This is my first brushless large scale 4wd and I hate I got one that was punished. All in all the rest seems good. I did order all new pins for front A-arms. The drive shafts looked ok, I think he had replaced them already. I got rear aluminum knuckles as well, they were sent as a bonus I guess? I'll take any free extra parts ya know...lol. Again, any tuning tips would greatly be appreciated, links, where to look, etc.....I want mine smooth and to hold up. I'm not a basher but I do like to have fun with my RC's. Thanks in advance.

      15k in the front and rear and use marine grease in the gearboxes. I would use 500k in the center if you're using the stock diff. Check out my videos on the diffs. I show how to shim them properly and what you're looking for. Hope this helps you out!

      @@ragercrepair9301 I have plenty high speed marine grease. I haven't worked on or took apart many diffs before, I usually keep close to stock but do upgrade any weak points I see. I guess you are mean to lube gears with the grease the fill with the weight gear oils you mentioned? This thing was a mess but it now has a metal center diff with metal spur, new pinion, aluminum knuckles, new front wheel axle bearings......the cups, if I remember correctly, I couldn't find them. Let me know if I'm on the right track. When I first got it the gear mesh sound was awful, had an inch of play in steering due to servo saver and wheel bearings being bad. I just want it to run smoothly with as little slop as possible and handle good, oh and be able to talk to someone while running it.....lol

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  Před 3 lety +1

My 1st brushless were Team Associates RC18GT I think is model #, 18th scale 4wd. Then I got a ZD-Racing buggy that has been surprisingly dependable. I busted a shock but it was my mistake.
