I grew up in a baptist church. From a young age, it was "Accept Jesus or BURN IN HELL 🔥." Pretty scary for a preschooler to hear. A great amount of the men that attended the church sexually abused girls. Many churches that we visited were similar to those we went to. I'm glad to have left religion behind. I don't need to feel like I have to be good to get to heaven. I do good deeds because I believe that helping people is the right thing to do.

I dated an elder from a Baptist church and I’m glad we ended things. I couldn’t do anything right and now in his eyes I’m a monster. It’s crazy. We went to the book store and he looked at me and said, “you should only read the Bible and get your information from the Bible” basically nothing else can be true but the Bible. I just couldn’t do it anymore. I even left my job because everyone there was crazy, bullying, and gossips, etc etc etc. I turned into this woman who was chasing perfection and perfection in others not Jesus. 🙄🤔 other thing is that the man I was seeing said that he thought maybe he was gay in the past which was a huge concern to me because if I married
him he may have left me for a man. I told him that I accept him for who he is and it’s okay if he is really gay but he ignored me for literally 6 hrs. It’s just sad how truly alone he is in all of this because of religion.

First, thank you for sharing. Second, what is really obvious is you lack true understanding what it means to be a christian. And that “right thing to do” you speak of, that conscience is God’s moral law placed on your heart. It is why you are compelled to do good. We can do good but at heart given the right circumstances are capable of all kinds of evil. For instance; you have rejected God. I don’t think you even know Christians are slaves to Christ and called to serve. It’s not about doing good that saves you. Jesus said “if you deny me before men I will deny you before my Father in heaven”. So here on CZcams you have publicly denied Christ and called him a liar. Jesus said “No one comes to the Father but by me”. You however don’t need him to get into heaven. Jesus also said “narrow is the way to heaven, few will find it”. I just wanted to share the peril you are facing in going your own way. To say you will be fine when you are in a burning building is not the loving thing to do. You need to truly seek Christ through His Word and by good Bible teachers. GTY.org, is John MacAurther, there is also Greg Laurie, Alister Begg.at truth for life.org. Please stay away from charismatic teachers who talk about all God can do for you and speak in tongues while teaching. That is not biblical. When you truly understand good biblical teaching you will have the joy the world does not understand. No true Christian ever leaves Jesus Christ. If you gave up seeking Jesus because of bad people in a church you are rejecting Christ for their sin. Find a church that properly deals with those who prey on their members.

I heard the most wonderful singing coming from the church next door.
The doors were open , it was a hot summer. I just moved in next door to
this church, This was an all Black people church, that didn't stop me. I wanted to sing to, I am an INFJ. I took my white butt
in and joined in. I made it right into the choir. The pastor was an ex-con.
The congregation were made of old
Really old Black seniors. God was
Missing from this church, if there was
A God. Everybody liked me well enough.
Everyone wanted me to follow them
      All separated in small groups,
      That back bit, gossiping, etc.
      Not Christian like.
So bad these old ladies drove the Reverend to drink and straight out of the Church.
They , and many others do not know
What life is about. It is a gift , it is meant
      To be enjoyed, shared, worthwhile
Not lost, blind, sad, depraved, depressed
Empty left with nothing to give
We are meant to be, TO BE .

Actually, when I started questioning e.g. the absolutely nonsensical doctrine of the trinity, I figured out that every person you ask will come with some "explanation" of there own or just tell you it's a "mistery". You just have to "believe". I was then guided to Islam and am more than happy about that. I follow a clear religion, where nobody has to take responsibility for my actions but me. God, the Almighty, out of His mercy can just forgive me if I sincerely ask forgiveness. And the sincerity is between Him and me: I would be naive to think I could just pretend I am sorry when in fact I am not. So unless I sincerely change my wrong behaviour, Jesus being tortured for me on the cross is nothing which could help me. If anything, this would just mean I believe in some unjust God. But is all-knowing and just. Islam is so different from Christianity, it gives you a direct connection with the creator and this really nurtures my soul. It demand some serious commitment on my side, but it is absolutely worth it. Whenever I see a Christian like this intelligent man seeing through the non-sense of the doctrine of today's Church I am in a way happy for him. But I would be even more happy, if he found Islam. And I am saying this from a place of love. Most Christians are lovely people and they try to live a godly life. But the amount of misguidance given to them by the Church is just insane. It started at the very beginning with Paul. Just ask yourself, if today Jesus and his Mother came back to look at the church and the Christians. Would they find the people are following their message or would they find they are following the inventions of Paul?

I dated an elder at a church and I honestly felt as though I was losing myself deeper and deeper. He didn’t bring me closer to Christ at all. He was sensitive, bitter, controlling, and I felt as though as long as I followed him and supported him we were good. Constant fighting, I even remember getting drunk in public once and although he took the time to speak to me over the phone a month later he when I asked him, “remember that time I got drunk in public?” He literally gas lit me and said, “I don’t remember.” I told him once “I don’t trust you” (this was maybe 3 months into our relationship) and his face was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen just pure anger and wrath and it freaked me out and I said, “you’re scaring me you look angry” and his face softened and he had this creepy bizarre look on his face. I was definitely not perfect either but just the constant mirroring, snide comments, codependency, times he couldn’t even be there for me, gas lighting to make me feel better…I was just done. I kept telling him I wanted and need to follow Jesus not you I need to serve on my own and he’d say, “I’ll serve with you.” One day we went to a church event and I look over and he’s staring at the assistant pastor with this look on his face that seemed like such jealousy. I think the reason why he was looking at him that way is because he was hired as one of the counselors there and he couldn’t take that he wasn’t chosen to work as a counselor there. Such bizarre and crazy things. He also made it seem like he didn’t watch rated r movies or horror movies but he still would. 🙄🤷‍♀️ I left a job because I thought I needed to be perfect and all my co workers were the ones who were toxic living in sin and so I couldn’t be around that. Really messed up my life with all this crazy religious thinking. Am I still a Christian though? Yes! Will I still go to church? Yes. Will I join the church? Maybe but I know my truth. Anyways, long story short me and him both moved on and when I tried to apologize for all the things I did wrong to him he didn’t own up to his part and told me that he was already talking to someone new and all after 3 damn days of us breaking up. 🤷‍♀️ I thought maybe I had moved on to so I can’t be a hypocrite about that but I then decided that I don’t want to date anymore, hung out with my ex of 6 years (nothing happened) and we are both there for each other as friends and both going through a really difficult time. I’m more focused on caring more for his health instead of wanting something from him and that is true growth. I don’t regret that elder I dated because dating him showed me who I do not want to be and I don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t accept everyone. I see more of Jesus in my ex of 6 years who is struggling with drug addiction more then I did and he’s really loving toward everyone and that’s what I love about him.

I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian family and all of my friends and relatives were of this faith growing up. It took me roughly seven years to arrive at the same conclusion as you: there is just no evidence for the beliefs I was taught. It's an extremely scary and frustrating process, especially when other Christians look down on you and think you are the ignorant one but I am so thankful I was able to objectively look at other beliefs and at the end of the day I couldn't pretend to believe something I do not think is true. My heart is soo with you. For me it was the list of "Do's and Don'ts" that made me feel inadequate and further away from God. Finally I decided to leave church, not saying everyone should, but I needed to be uninfluenced and started studying the New Covenant on my own. See in the beginning I was sold out on the unconditional love and safety in the Saviour. Although having good intentions, when churches preach law it becomes a whole legalistic religious organization that robs us of our true identity and freedom in the true Gospel.
What I found is that religion says "Fix yourself and God/we will accept you" while the original Gospel says "Come just as you are and I will give you righteousness/(okayness) as a gift". Religion says "You have to work hard to stay forgiven and right" while the true Gospel says "With a single sacrifice I have made you perfectly accepted and irreversibly forgiven for ever". Religion says "You have to work to get close to God" the Gospel says "You cant get closer to your Father as He is in you and you are in Him". Religion says "God is in love with a future version of you" while the Gospel of Grace says "Dad loves you as you are right now unconditionally and is NEVER GOING TO CHANGE in this irreversibly restored relationship". Religion says "You are not good enough" and the true Gospel of Grace says "You are fully accepted, with a new heart which is righteous, holy and blameless. That's your identity, now live from your heart and be yourself". Religion is a bunch of rules to follow as a prerequisite to acceptance versus the Gospel of Grace providing immediate acceptance which will produce the "works" over time, but is secondary to the "Work Christ did". This reveals a bit of what I found please see this link for more: czcams.com/video/RHxbZEwbhHg/video.html
This is 8 years later, in the mean-time I started a small bible study group where everyone is on the same level and unconditionally accepted, where their opinion is valid and important.

There have been over one thousand Bible prophecies literally fulfilled, 258 concerning the birth, life, ministry and death of Jesus Christ alone, and over 100 scientific facts in the Bible most of which were found in the book of Genesis (first book of the Bible) written over three thousand years ago, which weren't "discovered" by the scientists of the world until the last 500 years. If you made one of these scientific discoveries, you'd be in textbooks all around the world, and if you made four or five, you'd be in the scientist's hall of fame, along with Isaac Newton, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Albert Einstein. But whoever wrote the Bible made over 100 of these scientific declarations, to go along with the 1,000 fulfilled prophecies. So, since the Bible in literally hundreds of place claims to be written by God, you must come to this conclusion; either God DID write the Bible, or some liar did. What makes more sense; some liar is by far, the greatest prophet ever and by far the greatest scientist ever, or God is indeed the author of the Bible? Just one of these scientific declarations in scripture is found in the very first verse of the Bible; "In the beginning, God created the heavens, and the earth... said 'let there be light.'" Einstein back in about 1920 said, that matter, space, energy, and time itself all had a beginning. That is precisely what God says in Genesis chapter one; "In the beginning (reference to time having a beginning) God created the heavens, (space) and the earth (matter) and said, "Let there be light." (energy)

Yep and I hate when real religious people throw that in my face “the fear of going to hell.” I’m honestly so sick of it. I still have that fear and right now I’m wondering what it would be like to just follow my own path at this point. After 2 weeks of staying in doors depressed I finally just showed up for the world and did the next best thing. Okay get outside, take a Lyft, show up to a job interview, I’m early so take a walk, listen to some validating music, show up to job interview 10 min early, be calm and friendly, take a Lyft home. That’s all I had to do. I didn’t pray about it or ask God to give me a job all I had to do was just show up and do the next best thing. This is what made me happy. I’ve asked for tons of forgiveness also and it got to the point where I would still just mess up. We are all humans so we are gonna make some mistakes that’s just life it’s how we get through all the mess that’s when we are able to try to do a little better each day.

@@wildwarrior5680 - Grow up. Smh. Society is still a mess because of so-called christianity/religion, as well. The irony is, pale-skinned Israelite and European "men" made up the fake bible because they knew they had no actual/real purpose. They also lied about a lot of things in the made-up bible. An African female was the mother of all humans, and they twisted it to make it seem as if so-called adam and eve were actual/real people, as well as the so-called parents of humanity. Another lie and hypocrisy, which does not make any sense, is about so-called mary. So. If/since "mary is the mother of jesus/god", why isn't so-called god the so-called son of so-called adam/eve? As if that wasn't bad enough. So-called jesus so-called came from so-called mary when so-called mary was a so-called virgin and so-called got pregnant from so-called god when so-called mary was so-called with so-called joseph. So, that also means, so-called god so-called violated so-called mary. It irks me how "christian/religious" people can live with themselves with this nonsense, and still get by in life with such nonsense while still being bigoted, pretentious, divisive, self-centered, shallow, unrealistic, brainwashed bots.

You came to many of the same questions and answers as I did.
I grew up in Baptist church… very entrenched in that along with my mother and her family. At 19 I fell into the Catholic Church because of a boyfriend. I thought they had more fun and allowed to do more than I could as a Baptist so I took classes and became Catholic for the next 30 plus years. We raised our kids in Catholic Church and Schools… we were very devout and never missed mass.
At some point in my 50’s, I also was sitting in church and suddenly just thought that it no longer made sense to me. The pull between my family and my husbands family had been going on for all these years. Each was very religious and very devout. Both thought that they had the right way to Jesus, God, Heaven…
They believe some of the same parts if the Bible, but not all. I just woke up to it one day and quit going to church.
I revisited religion in 2020 when my mom died…. and things were pretty freaky, and it lasted for a few months until I came to the same conclusion again. It just didn’t feel right and I still have no religion and I have lost most of my faith. I am not sure exactly what I believe or know anymore. I really like the messages from people who have had NDE’s and I listen to or read those just about everyday. They seem more aligned with what I believe.
    Thanks for the thoughtful talk.

To all, who complain that BIBLE is written through man`s hand, don`t you not know nor haven`t notice: another populat book : HARRY POTTER is written also through human`s hand, but by satan himself.
to see in more detail that movie: HARRY POTTER, one can see how satan explains who he is - how he is - where and how old his kingdom is and what are his planes for us: humans. One, very noticeable is the seance were Black introduce their family tree to Potter. Be not fool, for he is carring many names: the most known:
      - LUCIFER,
      - SATAN,
      - THE OLD DEVIL,
      - THE Baphomet - the false god/the god of freemasonry.
      - The Prince of the air.
1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

It is sad to see how this young man has been reducing God , the great I Am into the church and people he shared life with.
My friend, I believe that you have been deceived and have followed a God that is none like the true and living God, God of Israel, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
I hear you talking about what people did, what you wanted to do, what your mum did etc our ultimate example is Yeshua. He is the only one that never lets you down, even if you fall, which is guaranteed we will fall many times, His grace is enough. He has promise to help us and walk with us. We will never be perfect for as long as we live in this fleshy body, but we have been perfected in Christ. I am so so sad to see many people agree with you, and I Would say : Fix your eyes on Yeshua, He is true and living and He is the one saving thousand upon thousands Muslims in Iran without even ever heard about Him.
The West is so comfy in their fat cosy lives that there is no room for God. Trial and tribulations are those that show your true faith, this is why the First church was so different from the church in the West.
Hardly do I hear you speak about God but only what people were saying and doing, trust me people will let you down, look up and you will see a different God from the one you search down. He is exalted! He is indescribable! He is uncontainable mighty, loving, faithful, forgiving, generous and much much more.
Don’t let go of Yeshua, there is nothing else out there for you but pain and disappointment. Sorry to hear this, I know God will complete His will in your life. Wait and see !
Much love in Christ, our only saviour that can’t change , everything around us changes but His love never does for the ones who seek and love Him ! Amen

I also went to a religious school. I think around late high school is when I started questioning Christianity, and I also was found out to be LGBTQ through myspace at the time. I am probably going to write about the entire thing one day, but basically a BIG wedge was put between my parents and I. The youth leader trying to help me give up my LGBTQ desires. This eventually led to me being kicked out right when I was 18. Even after all that, I didn’t really start deconstructing Christianity. I just changed things to fit my narrative while still being gay and Christian. Today I am 33 years old. At 30 is when I really started to deconstruct. It has been hard. I have had horrible relationships even to the point of being in an abusive one. I have very limited contact with family and made some bad decisions trying to figure my life out. I've been reading books and watching videos to get reassurance that there are others out there having the same experience and reaching similar conclusions. This was the most thoughtful, beautiful, eloquent, and logical deconversion story I have come across. Not angry or condescending, just a calm and patient explanation of your truth. I will bookmark this video to show to anyone who asks how I came to leave the church.

Thank you! I have been going through this for years. I am not alone.
I have turned away from religion because they do not follow what they claim to follow. Most Christians make excuses for their poor behavior.
I am an outcast as show who I am, not what I am. This in itself does not match what they teach.

It truly doesn’t and it’s sad. I was only at my last church for a couple of weeks until they pretty much met with me and asked which church I would be going to next. I told them none and that I’d rather be in AA where people are real basically lol! So hey I get it. Idk why they would sit their and play the victim. Each testimony everyone would talk about pride, or how they left a cult, or be sad and bitter because they had cancer and how they got through it, or would say they were on drugs. I’ve known people that have gotten through things without the church and without AA. I was joking when I told the assistant pastor I’d join AA though. To all of them I’m some crazy worldly sinner of an alcoholic who causes mischief and hurt. No one wants that. 🤣🙄

You have received a lot of comments, so if nothing anyone else has said is of help?? Mmmm? Maybe you are not really looking, seeking.
No one comes to the Lord, unless he be called. Previous to my call, l was a broken man, at the end of myself. Jesus himself said he came to save the lost, the sinner to repentance. I am sure you will find every reason to reject the Son of God. But if you do truly seek Him, you will be found of Him.
Before even coming to Jesus, you pick it to pieces. I had a motorcycle accident 43 years ago, and 10 years later in 1987, l was asked to a church by an old friend who felt compelled to get me there. I went unwillingly, and the preacher preached on giving money to the church, and l was not impressed, but when he, as an afterthought, asked if anyone wanted to receive Christ put up your hand, and I felt compelled to put my hand up, as if God raised my hand. There is a lot more to the story, but I have never been the same since. I studied the Bible full on for 6 months, and onecday I had a vision before my eyes in broad daylight, of Jesus Himself standing in front of me, and l fell on me knees is worship, and l have never cried so much.
He proved Himself to me, and the Scriptures totally make sense, totally fit together, and Jesus totally fulfilled all prophesy regarding Himself.
Nothing and no one could change my absolute faith and unwaving belief in Emanuel, God with us, Yahusha, God in the flesh.
I pray and hope He calls you to repentance, and to faith in Him, because then this life can make sense to you.

God has not abandoned you...come back to Him
there is a prophecy of the great falling away II thessalonians 2 1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
      3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
try looking into "Person of Interest" by J Wallace ...he was a skeptic police officer who researched things about Jesus Christ
like...y he was born when he was born, how he was compared to other religions, how he effected the world in science, art, music, education..etc
he author used the same tactic for Jesus Christ as he did to solve a cold case
john 3 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
we all need to repent of our sins and follow Jehovah and Jesus Christ before its too late
we are in the end times and the prophecies are coming to pass in our lifetime (matthew 24, II timothy 3 and 4, II thessalonians 2 for examples..also look into romans 1 )

What if all is already shared, yet you didn`t bother to notice?
Little about some topics: ABORTSION, SLEEPING AROUND = SHARING SEED AND NOT RAISING THESE UP.
And let me ask a hard question here and there: WHY MALES CAN`T AND WILL NOT KEEP THEIR REPRODUCTIVE TOOLS MORE UNDER CONTROL? WHY ON EARTH ARE MALES SHARING THEIR OWN BODY MEMBERS SO EASILY? WHY ARE THEY UNABLE TO SUDDENLY DEAL WITH THEIR OWN SEEDS THAT START GROWING AND BECAME TO BE AS HUMANS? If males do not ask hard questions from themselves and do not change then complaining about the topic: it`s no use. For MALE was created 1st - that means: on the shoulders of males lays the most. There`s a reason MALES were created in the shape of a match cup - to TRULY STAND STRONG AND BE STRONG. A man sharing his seed here and there IS NOT A STRONG NOR WISE MAN. Raising up all the seeds man has share`d - and raising them up in truth - THEN WE CAN SAY: THAT MAN IS STRONG AND WISE ALSO.
      czcams.com/video/mr69zkjCtvk/video.html
If under your care are more then 1 child and only one shares your blood and you ain`t gonna feet them, you are then PURE EVIL. And no, being a MALE OR FEMALE ain`t matter here. for to make a child - both: MALE AND FEMALE IS NEEDED. Raising a child/children is the obligation of both. And if one can`t deal with raising a child/children then why sleeping around? Learn to ignore your fleshly desires. Learn to have control over your body. We already have billions broken souls, WHY ON EARTH WE ARE BUSY TO MAKE MORE? No, i`m not against having children and multiplying the earth with new generations. What i am against is: PRODUCING BROKEN SOULS. It is no good.
take care all the children living under your roof or the same will happen as was between 2 1st brothers ever lived on earth: CAIN AND ABLE. Jealously comes forth and one amongst these children, later in life, end up dead way before his or her time. Why? - because a child`s soul is broken. A child do not fully understand all the reasons why adults love one child more then others. That`s usually a reason why later in life, these children are enemies to each other. Raising a child/children, do not care about your own pride and opinions form other humans nor even your owns, CARE ABOUT HOW GOD SEES YOU AND TAKES YOU. Wrongly and unraised children = more violence in this world. And who are these who complain the most about this topic:? ADULTS in their old age. If we /all who are parents, no matter here is all the children are blood sharers or not/ make a way for more violence then no right is found for complain. We, older generations, want truly a change in this world, then let`s raise children in truth and in love. Lets be mad only if they do wrong, not because they do not share our genes.
Sadly, all humans ever lived - are wicked sinners, to become a saint - one MUST COME TO REPENTENCE AND BORN AGAIN. What truly means made in the image of GOD? - MADE IN 3. SPIRIT + SOUL + BODY - ALIVE HUMAN/LIVING SOUL. Let`s word it a little different: SPIRIT/GOD CREATED SPIRITS/HUMANS. We, humans are also SPIRIT BEINGS. Already ever lasting beings - that is one of the secrets of life. It`s just the body we live in, that must put on IMMORTALITY. So we, humans can be wholly everlasting beings. To be a human being - all 3 parts must be. It is sad, you still don`t know that nor understand.
Fact: nr.1: LUST AFTER ANOTHER`S HUMAN BODY AIN`T LOVE. True love is: LAYING DOWN ONE`S OWN LIFE /LIKE CHRIST DID FOR US/ SO OTHER`S CAN LIVE. THAT`S LOVE.
Fact nr 2: Real CHURCH IS HUMAN BODY ITSELF, FOR GOD IS A SPIRTI AND DO NOT NEED A BUILDING MADE BY HANDS. Know all the facts there is to know, lest you still be DECEIVED.
Fact nr. 3 Christianity was never a religion. It always been reality. It is time to fully understand that part. How come Christianity can and is reality? - Do some searching about FREEMSONRY.
Fact nr. 4: Being in gender/sex (for me, both words means the same thing) has only one purpose: TO MULTIPLY aka create new generations of humans.
Therefore if like you all stating, that gender and sex is changeable and optionable, then why not a single soul born without reproductive tools? and no, i do not mean here the "intersex" ones. for they born with confused body functions. That`s why they have both tools.
And by trying to change a sex/gender - you are stealing another human`s tools. Someone goes to grave without these.
Do not steal nor envy anything that another human have. But be wise and take care all that was given to you.
Use a little logic and even you are able to list real and logical facts.
If one leaves Christianity too easily, then sadly one haven`t had a clue, what is REAL CHRISTIANIY ALL ABOUT. That is fact nr 5.
Give some time and some chances and another soul comes form atheism to CHRISTIANITY aka become a Christ follower. No money needed to follow CHRIST. but it does cost us a lot: FOLLOWING A CHRIST COST US OUR EARTHLY LIVES.
Real Christian MUST BE WILLING TO SUFFER AND MUST BE WILLING TO LAY DOWN ONES`S LIFE, LIKE CHRIST DID FOR US, THE SAME WE DO FOR CHRIST.
Real Christians must come out from BABYLON AKA MATRIX , not find ways to still be in there.
Matrix is satan`s kingdom. How can you serve GOD in another`s god kingdom? - you can`t, you must make a chose: GOD OR MAMMON/SATAN? Whom you will serve? Where will you be forever: HEAVEN OR IN THE HOT LAKE?
Didn`t you notice? i give 4 more facts. Copy these and remember these.
Family betrayal is very real for ALL WHO FOLLOW CHRIST. in the tribulation period /7years long/ - Future for Christians: SUFFERING: HUNGER AND FREEZING, BETRYAL, MURDER, SHOT - STAB - BEHEADED. Even though we will truly suffer extremely on this earth - let`s rejoice, for out SPIRITS will be in HEAVEN comforted FOREVER. Why that extreme suffering? - BECAUSE WE WILL REJECT SATAN AND HIS MOTB.
And also another way to get stuff cleared out: play little with words:
CHRISTIANITY AND REALITY = BOTH END THE SAME. Last 3 letters in both words: ITY.
Last Fact: CHRISTIANTY MUST BE SEEK`D OUT, FOR IT IS HIDDED AND MUST BE FOUND AND MUST BE FOUND INDIFIDUALLY. Lest we be deceived and stay counting on others opinions.
Truth is truth and remains a truth - out feelings - wishes - opinions and beliefs DO NOT CHANGE THAT.

But Jesus said let not our heart be troubled. And we are to think on things that are good pure kind and be peaceful. He overcome the world . So I live not afraid.

You said about demons " I know they exist" right? The Book of Enoch says they do, the Talmud says they do, and Christianity says they do, but after 32 years, I think not. The OT does not prove they do, in fact it says they are nothing, the works of man's hand, wood, gold, silver, stone etc. A demon is a man made belief of what a person's malady is. If something causes you pain, fits, migraine maybe, paralysis, or schizophrenia, you were thought to be influenced by a spirit, the spirit of the dead, or the Talmudic belief that they were the spirits of the dead nephalim (the union offspring of fallen angels and human women), yet this is all paganism. False beliefs, idolatry etc.
The Church has forgotten that Yahua (YHWH) is Sovereign. How often does a Pastor read from Deuteronomy and what our Sovereign Eloheim said that He would do to those who forsake His Law? He Said that He creates both good and evil (calamity). You either believe Him or pagan myths!

Any pastor that wears an expensive, sharp business suit is NOT a Christian, they are the Deciever, the False Shepherd. E.G. Pastor Ken Copeland - he even LOOKS like a demon - these pastors are NOT CHRISTIAN and might even not HUMAN.
Real Christian Believers are pastors like Shaun McCraney from Heart of the Matter - they light look a little scruffy and rough around the edges, and they have smaller followers because they actually call out unChristian behaviors - and this loses them advertisement dollars. But the faith comes before money for these smaller pastors. The big pastors, money comes before faith.

That’s true growth right there.

Whew I actually like that you made this video. I'm a Christian, became one last year and also an INFJ btw. So there's a couple things I have learnt over this period. The people around you that present themselves as Christians are often the problem. I had to read the Bible for myself and luckily I had good community to help me understand. God talks a lot about false witnesses. MANY so called Christians that we see today ARE NOT Christians. And as you said Christian means follower of Christ, however I need to point out that God always talks about the fact that Jesus is Man and God. Therefore, humans will never be capable to match up to the idealism of who Christ was, we are sinful by nature and often make mistakes. Hence why the Bible is guide for us to live righteously but MANY or MOST denominations throw out certain parts of the Bible to fit their own narrative and that's where problems arise. I always found certain beliefs stupid and extremist.
Hopefully to shed some light. Christianity in its purest form is to teach about knowledge, wisdom, grace, truth and mercy for all humans alike. However, over centuries it has been tainted by multitudes of false witnesses for Christ who aren't actual believers and unfortunately so many leave the church because of the hypocrisy of so many of these people. That's why in my church we teach about RELATIONSHIP over RELIGION. The Bible is a great book. However, there are true Christians out there and many MANY fake ones. Even in the Bible it said many who call themselves believers will NOT go to heaven because they misrepresented him. Christianity is about a relationship with God. Who has saved me from depression, anxiety, etc. So, I encourage anyone who may want some encouragement to question things. There isn't anything wrong with that, believe me. I did for several years until God found me and placed me in the right church. I like to do this thing where I challenge God😂 cuz he says if you really want to find him, seek him with a genuine heart. I just said "listen God if you're real you need to show up and show out cuz I've had it!" And BOI did he show up lol.
God also mentions stuff about leadership in high places as well btw😊
It's good to have these conversations tbh. Not imposing btw. Just hope this encourages those who may have doubts. Sending you all peace, love and light and praying that you all remain healthy in this time.♥️
Edit: Just wanted to add that you can all read Romans 14 that addresses what God says about different denominations and beliefs in Christianity. It's all there but for a preview it says:
"Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand."

He looks like a guy that was lukewarm and was looking for god for self pleasure and good time, and how can a man who never died know God, God cannot be bought by human acts and deeds. Christ is not what man who claim to be christians is , Christ is the rock and does not change, but people do. No one of you ever died and how can you search God, you think that you will find him by your brain and intelligence while being lasy and continue in your selfishness. On the other side of planet kids are dying and getting murdered and God takes them and shows himself to them, but you are searching God for wrong reasons and you have given so little, but you ask for so much, be a man and stick what was given to you because already it was already been given to you too much compared to the rest of the world.

Thank you for sharing Clay! What a tough topic. I was raised Catholic. The amount of hypocrisy I found in the Christian/Catholic Church made me really rethink how I felt about the church. A lot of the teachings are simply too archaic for me to even consider. Almost comical really.
“You will go to hell if...” well in that case I should’ve gone to hell at age 6, no? Or even as an infant....
I try not to be extremist looking at it, but it’s hard not when the church itself is so extreme.
Quite frankly, I don’t think God would condemn his people for being human, as the church prescribes. When I was 15 I REALLY theorized about the phrase WWJD in many scenarios. It made all the difference.
It’s simply hypocrisy. It’s a way a lot of simple minded people preserve meaning for their lives. I said what I said.
I now I appreciate looking at all various religions and theologies to better understand the world around me.

When I was forced into so-called christianity/religion, as a child, I sensed it was no good. It still isn't, and neither are so many "adults" who are still brainwashed/controlled/dumbed-down by "christianity/religion". How is it that we have *search engines* like *Google,* and so many "adults" still don't know that *Africa* is the *motherland* and an *African female* is/was the *mother* of *all humans? Pale-skinned Europeans,* like *"king James* or *Christopher Columbus,* never mentioned any of those facts. Why? Because they manipulated and lied about actual facts, reality, and truth(s) to be/"feel superior" over (certain) people. Especially over indigenous people of color.

I hit a few of the checkpoints in a different order, (for instance the bible must be inerrent because otherwise chaos was a part of my denominations accepted beliefs) but otherwise it was very similar.
I love how clear and concise, but also how indepth this video was. I think I'm going to book mark it, just so when people want to know why I can just send them this video. Thanks for the effort you put in making it.

Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space, and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. We KNOW these laws. We have NO doubts about them. We also KNOW that the laws of nature can't come about without a Lawgiver, God.

Excellent video, thank you so much for sharing. I’ve recently come back to Christ and begun attending a church here that somehow fully endorses the expression of doubt, and welcomes questions, discussion, and healthy discourse. In my opinion, you don’t at all sound like someone who has left Christianity, but someone who has become truly Christian. You sound like someone who has left the church, and with good reason. If there’s anything I know about Jesus, it’s that he was a pot stirrer. I’ve *never* been comfortable stirring the pot, and as I become untangled from the sociopolitical landscape that has essentially become the new god, I’m left to wander towards…God. It’s a weird feeling, and doesn’t exactly line up with who I am? But at the same time, it does. Because I’m becoming aware that everything I believe in, things I’ve equated to my political mindset, are actually my feelings and ethics rooted in a faith. Christianity has become completely highjacked by different iterations of politics over time, leaving people to feel scorned or even in danger if they question or deviate. That’s not Christianity. There is also plenty of historic evidence to showcase that Constantine wasn’t Christian, but claimed to have a divine dream in order to appeal to Christian soldiers. Which as you pointed out, allowed for violence to become part of the story when it never should have been. There are so, so many problems within the church. And what I have to remember is that Jesus, a peasant rabbi, saw problems in the sacred spaces of his day. And he answered the inner calling you felt to stand up and say “what are you doing?” just as you felt to do. He took the risk to speak up, act up, and change things. I think that living as Christ lives includes this aspect, even if - especially if it’s uncomfortable. Which is in a way exactly what you’re doing in making this video. As someone who follows Christ, I’m over here clapping and wishing for more of this kind of direct challenge to the church itself. Without it, Christianity is nothing but a worldview with a self-sabotaging distance from the goal of what Jesus actually taught.

I was born again at 18 years old and wasn't even looking for God but I was invited to hear gospel music at a church one day and I had an experience that changed me for the rest of my life. I didn't even know the bible yet, but later when I began to read the Bible I realized what had happened to me was that the Holy Spirit came to live on the inside of me and He still here 30 years later. It is by the Spirit that I am able to help so many people and I truly feel like I was put here as a conduit just to help other people and that God gives me the grace to endure things I go through all for the reward that is awaiting me in heaven and I am cool with that. Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life. He is a Narrow path and few will find it/Him.

Thank you for sharing. Our stories are almost identical. Grew up in Pentecostalism. Mom was the worship leader and choir director. I was the drummer. I was terrified of the dark as a kid because of demons. Now, in my mid 30s, I’m questioning everything and would not consider myself a Christian at this time.
My question is this: How did you come out of the religious closet to your friends and family? Almost everyone close to me is a lifelong Christian. Telling them you’re different is very scary for me.

  • @shanehazlewood
    @shanehazlewood Před 2 lety +31

Thanks for telling your story. I am a Christian and an INFJ and have sang and played music in the church all my life. I identify a lot with your story, though I still am deeply involved in my faith and trying to be the church, not just go to church.
I grew up as a missionary kid and experienced some weird things, even a demon possession that my mom told me she prayed out by saying Jesus’ name. Then we moved to the US after my parents had marriage problems & eventually divorced.
My mom kept us in the church, and I eventually went to Bible college, even though I wanted to go to music school. Like you, I had a lot of questions and got a lot of answers, yet sometimes they don’t really satisfy me either. Although they present certain things as facts, there are still uncertainties, so I still research those when I can.
I have been told that the opposite of faith is certainty. There may be something to that.
Anyway , I was a people pleaser and went along to get along, and I was tired of all the aura and pressure of going into ministry.
So I graduated with a music ministry degree that I wasn’t sure I wanted, and struggled for year to get a job in ministry. I worked at various workforce jobs, and got outside of my little Christian bubble, trying to see if my educated faith in God would stand up to the real world. Well, it did, but I had to grew and be open to change and keep maturing.
I sense that you value your logic above all, and yet we are whole beings. We can use any part of our being to justify anything, including logic and experiences. I do empathize with your struggle, and I do hope you find the evidence you’re looking for.
You’re a seeker who wants unshakable proof of God’s existence and the Bible’s authority and inerrancy. What if God is smart enough and powerful enough to lead you through all the difficulties and seeming errors and contradictions of His Word? I don’t claim to know a lot or remember a lot of what I learned, and maybe I should have spoken up more about the questions I had, like you did.
What if His foolishness really is wiser than people’s wisdom?
I still have more faith than doubt that although the church now doesn’t look like it did and that Christians seem to be worshippers more than they are followers, I believe Jesus will come back.
It’s interesting I just remembered that Jesus himself asked the question that when He comes back, will He find faith on the earth? He knew the hearts and minds of people, that they would distort His words and His church.
But I think He also knew and knows there would be people like you and me who would want a faith that is real, authentic, peaceful, loving, and logical. This was a deep and raw open vulnerability that really touched me and challenged me to continue go beyond worship and truly follow Jesus.
Thanks again. May Jesus help you find your way back to Him. Don’t give up as long as you live. Hebrews 11:6 says that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him, and that is what you are doing.

      1. Faith is simply pretending to know something that you don't actually know.

      6. People should not be proud of their faith, they should be ashamed that they use faith because they cannot back up their claims with any actual facts.

Growing up reading and hearing there is no fear in love, when all Sunday mornings were about instilling fears… fear of hell, fear of the world, fear of asking questions, fear of self… all I learned was to fear and it lead me down many unhealthy mental roads. Also just being a woman in the church, there is hardly any space for me and I helped and served where I could but leadership or teaching roles were restricted and undervalued. Dropping Christianity and walking away is a decision I do not regret. Although things are currently rough with me and my family, I will always now value myself as a person first and any beliefs I have in the future will never again be the whole reason for my value.

      Hello my friend
Of course, it is clear that each religious sect has its own version of God.
But I think let's make a rational assessment based on scientific thinking about what God is
This deity must be self-sufficient, not dependent on the universe.
In addition to the fact that it does not need to be part of the universe itself, that is, it is outside the scope of conventional physics and is not limited to time and space.
Consciousness must be one of the characteristics of this deity, and that the universe and physical laws arise from a consciousness produced from outside this universe.
It is the source and the first reason for the existence of the universe and the physical laws that depend on this ability and consciousness that organizes them according to precise calculations and complex programming.

Sorry for your negative experiences and if there is anyone who left church for any reason. I think people leave church mostly because of people or churches not Jesus or Bible themselves. It breaks my heart when I see someone through Christianity on others in the name of Jesus and try to 'correct' them. I came from different religious background and am the first and only Christian from my family. Also I came from outside to USA. In the past in my church I met a few people who treated me like a baby and 'tested' me by asking question about Bible, when I said how I became a believer. I had worked with more than few gay people before and had great relationships. I have no reason to hate them only because of their sexuality. To me being a Christian is personal, not coverup to hide my flaws so that I feel better with myself, or give authority to save=correct those are non=believers. My wish is my belief becomes like a perfume which you can smell it without being spoken (and hope makes you feel a bit better). Thank you again for these authentic videos. See you in the next!

Yeah I agree. Many people lose their faith because of a bad church instead of finding the right church that preaches the real word of god.

You are a monster! I bet you have heard that before I have. I loved every second of the brilliantly colorful tapestry you just carefully and strategically wove. I applaud your bravery! Thanks for sharing it!!

I'm a much older person than you and have felt and thought these very same things for several decades. It's as if you were in mind and speaking my thoughts. Thank you for vocalizing what I've thought all my adult life but tried to hide so as to fit in, or to not offend. It's hard to be an atheist in Texas and even harder to say it out loud. I've only recently had the courage to actually tell people this is my belief or unbelief, however you choose to say.
