    Before I met my husband I had no idea there was such a big difference in trimmers. I would get one from a box store, use it for a year or two and have to buy a new one. My husband and his crew use trimmers more in a week than I did in a whole year! His go-to is the Stihl, FS94's and FS91's with speed heads, and I have been amazed how well they hold up for what they are put through. He likes them for their dependability and performance, and I can now say from personal experience that they are easy to maintain and repair. They work almost as hard as my husband does!
    Good luck to everyone who enters!

    The Stihl 4 mix engines sound so good, have great power, good durability. Only drawback is you have to adjust the valve clearances. Takes 5 minutes but it's easy to neglect and when other trimmers require essentially no maintenance, it makes the decision a bit easier. I'm running a 525ls but wouldn't be opposed to any good trimmer nowadays, they are all really nice machines.

    @batmanreviews934 Před 2 lety +6

    I started out using the stihl fs91r and it was a good trimmer. Then I ran across an issue with the valves so I bought an fs 131r. Since I have fixed my 91r and made it a short range pole saw. A year after using these I was irritated with how heavy they both were so I looked into the Husqvarna 525 Lst. That thing is so freaking light and the 2 to 1 ratio is amazing. So another year went by and I found my self yet again in a situation where I got tired of lugging 2 trimmers everytime I cut since the fs131 overpowers the 525. So I stumbled across the echo 2620t. It's comfortable, I love the trigger, it's a great mix between the 131 and 525 and it's lighter than the 131 but has all the power I could ever need. So now I use the 2620t for all my brush cutting and tall grass needs and I swap back and forth between the 525 for around the house since it's so light and to keep it running. Alittle bonus I also switched from the fs91r short range pole saw to the Milwaukee battery pole saw and hedge trimmers and let me tell you guys.... go buy 1. They are amazing and work better than most of the gas 1s I have used and I can use it at night if I get off late and don't wanta disturb the neighborhood! Great videos keep them coming and let's see the new blower wars video. Echo 9010 for the win lol.

      The echo 2620t is what I run all day everyday. I have the 3020t but prefer the 2620t as I can move it around quicker since it’s so light and it doesn’t kill my back at the end of the day!

    I don’t think you could go wrong with either one. I have used Stihl and Echo over the years. My favorite so far is the Echo. I like not having valves to adjust. Lot less moving parts. I have a dealer who sells Echo, Red Max, and Stihl. One thing he mentioned was that Redmax used to be the best when he started but lately they have had a few problems since the Husky merger. He pushed me towards Echo. I have not been disappointed. Everything that I have was built in Japan with the exception of my 9010T. I have a 3020T, 410X, CS-620P, and the 9010T. I have heard really good things about Maruyama though. They remind me of the original red max machines built in Japan. I think the only drawback is dealer support. I only have one dealer around here and it’s not the best. They have both a 5 year residential and commercial warranty though.

    "we are engineers". I've used all of these. Each have thier pros and cons. The Husqvarna comes in a 525l 525ls 525lst. Definitely an upgrade when a aluminum plate is on the bottom. Anti-vibration device in the handle. Solid spline internal drive. Magnesium crank case. If you line them all up the Husky is by far the more ergonomic and smoother lines. Has the auto-return off in the handle. All the lines are completely inside. Lightweight. Two stage air filtration. The trigger is almost impossible to break. All the fuel lines are compltely inside. The choke is by far superior to the others it's either on or off. I started with a 128ld a year and a half ago. With multiple attachments. I've upgraded to the 525lst the 525ecs 525p4s 525he3. Powerful lightweight engine each of them have the anti-vibration handle. Great platform. My 128ld still comes along with us but rarely used. 2nd year owner and would love a new 525. I had nothing but problems from redmax trimmers. Their carbs are super duper picky about the gas mix, like real bad. I have multiple shindaiwa trimmers ranging from 10 years old to two, and I have never had a single issue out of any of them. Both redmax trimmers I've bought brand new, the biggest ones - 3060's, they both only worked properly for less than a full season. This is on the same exact gas mix that all my other equipment was using and working just fine on. I use 93 octane with stihl synthetic oil and I am very meticulous about getting the mix right. Most honest shop mechanics will tell you the redmax carbs are not the best. I've heard it from three different ones myself. Of course, everyone's use case and experience will vary, but I'd never give redmax another dime.

      The km-94r is awesome. Easy starting, light, powerful, reliable and you can run multiple attachments. I love mine. For strictly a trimmer the Fs -94r is pretty awesome. I broke in/ ran in the engine with being light to half power on the throttle for the first half year to let the engine settle in . After that I have put some serious use at full throttle on it. Been great for the five years I've had it. It's been flawless and a beast on anything green and growing except solid wood type growth. If I have to do some clearing I just grab the Stihl FS -250 with the brush blade and it levels all up to three inches in diameter. That trimmer/brushcutters is now twenty years old and Stihl ripping through whatever I put in front of it. If you get yourself one of the Fs -94r trimmers or the km-94r kombi machines you will absolutely not regret it. They don't make the fs-250r but they do make the fs-240 which is just a hair small in engine size but is quite a beast. I am only a fan of the traditional two cycle equipment and I am not at all a fan of the four mix engines. Too many moving parts and things to go wonky.

      You will maintain the newer Stihl weed eaters a lot more. Anybody that tells you otherwise is lying to you. We have 7 of them at work. The older ones are good. The 2 131's and both 111's live in the shop. Lack of power, hard to start, new carbs, plugs, adjustments, and they still don't run that well. My boss gets tired of hearing it so he let me buy a 525L. It outrun's all of them. Starts better, runs smoother, it's just all around better. I literally use both all the time and Stihl helped sell me on my Husqvarna weed eaters a long time ago.

    Definitely the styhl, used one helping a friend with starting his lawn care business. Using one of these 7-12 hours a day. They just hold up well. I use Stabil year around for me equipment for a mobile detailing side hustle in the gas generator and my personal lawn mowing equipment.

    I've used echo 1000 for 8 years and loved it, it just recently quit working for me but I also enjoy stihl!

    My go to is the Echo. Not really familiar with any other brand but 1 year of daily use and the echo hasn't let me down yet.

    Right now I run the Stihl KM 56 R-CE. Gets the Job done, but need something more powerful for certain attachments. KM 91 R is what i’m hoping to upgrade to in the next year or so.

    I’ve only used sthil and echo trimmers. the sthil definitely has some weight to it cut it’s does a good job. personally I like the echo more, it is light weight and trims good as well. I’ve been doing lawn care for 3 years now for myself and surrounding neighbors. I’m 17 and the echo trimmer I have now my dad bought in 2001 new. I think echo is the way to go!
