I saw CSNY at Winterland (a former ice skate rink converted to a light show concert hall) in San Francisco just after Neil joined.
Everyone would bring a blanket, a snack, and a joint. We all lay down and watched the most amazing light shows while listening to the intro bands, waiting for CSNY to play.
    It got real quiet....
then this high pitched clear voice... "Be on my side baby 🎶 ....
(Down by the River song) and I sat up completely melting inside. That was Neil and I had fallen deeply in love with his voice.
I had been to Woodstock just before he joined CSN.
To this day, I still love listening to their songs.
AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND PROFOUND BLEND OF TALENT 💎💜💎

"Mainstream media" is the result of American capitalism and unfettered regulation AKA corporate monopolies. Other countries have publicly-funded media but everyone here in the states (at least, the right wingers) always cry "SOCIALISM! to that idea.
You can't have it both ways.

Watching this interview said it again.....Thank you for the music, but it would be so much better if he toned it down a bit....It was a group, not one person.

The questions were geared toward the general, which is to be expected on a show like this. So they didn't say anything surprising or even substantive. They might have said the music today is just crap. Many of the old artists such as Keith Richards will tell you flat out what they think:
“There is no new rock ’n’ roll. It’s pointless. There’s great musicians and some great singers and stuff. Unfortunately, to me, in music, it’s been synthesised to death,” Richards harshly stated. “Once you start synthesising things, you’re not getting the real thing.”
He then added, “I don’t want to go into a long discourse on what’s wrong with synthesisers and music these days, except to say they’re cheap and corny.”
Instead, Nash just offers some trite statement about how there's always been good music and bad. Does he really believe that or is he just trying to alienate anyone?

      Here's a couple thoughts:
The olders almost always trash the youngers. Hieroglyphs from Egypt tells that very same story.
On the other hand - what would you think Mozart would have done with a synth?
Talent seeks expression and finds it. It has to be heard and seen on its own terms, though...

You have to be kidding. Stephen Stills is the best musician in the group and can sing great. Young is always leaving tours and people holding the bag. Like with 30 venues left on the Buffalo Springfield tour he just left, leaving the rest of the group to pick up the pieces. He has walked out on these guys several times also. His early music was great, but I cannot agree he's the best musician left.

McGuinn talked with us for about an hour and Chris Hillman for about 45 minutes. Both said they just couldn't handle Crosby's drug habits anymore. Probably one of their best decisions!
