🎵Southern Cross by Crosby Stills & Nash is Arguably, one of America's #1 vacation songs. Stephen Stills of Crosby Stills & Nash wrote the lyrics to this song while going through a breakup and the instrumentals came from a song Stevie Nicks actually sang back up on.....called Seven-League Boots. The phrase "Seven League Boots" is a reoccurring theme/element present throughout ancient European folklore. Seven-League Boots refers to a pair of boots that allow someone to travel great distances (even over oceans and mountains) in order to find their true love. Seven-League Boots was originally written by Rick and Michael Curtis (Stevie Nicks actually sang back up vocals on a demo of this song at Sound City Studios in LA back in the 70s) and ultimately became the backdrop for Stephen Stills' lyrics to Southern🎵 Cross.
