A very popular key in Canada is the Weiser lock. I am going to use my Framon Code Machine. I have three of these, they are absolutely great. They last forever and parts are available from Framon.

This is a Weiser this is going to take the five cut Weiser blank. Out there you see a few seven or six cuts but mostly you run across five cuts. So we're going to cut it again, we're going to put it on the code machine. Spacing is 156 from the shoulder to the first cuts 237, and we're going to do a nine cut, that's 153. Going to put the key in. Measure it from the shoulder. Get that out of the way. And we said their cuts start at 237. Let's zero this right out. 237, we're going to go 50, 100, 150, 200 and, 37. And... spacing. I got the spacing block already in there. Got lucky 156. I don't have to change that, and we're doing 153 as our depth. So, I'll put this to the, see the 150 there? I'll just make it nice and simple. Just put it right to 150 and, we said 153 is our deepest cut is a nine. Wear your safety goggles. Put it on. 153... this likes to move doesn't it? No, 153 there we go. To the next spot. Second cut. Third cut. Again it's a nine depth. Fourth cut as a nine. And... fifth cut. Nine depth. Very simple. Let's just clean this up. Yeah this quick, easy and dirty. So we did the shoulder to the first cut was 237. And the spacing is 156. And we did a nine cut, 153 depth all the way along. Some people will open it up with the file.
There are different ways, different methods but, this I find quick. Okay. See that little peak there? Some people... this is just cut as a nine, nine, nine. Some people will chop that down a bit. I'll just file it a little bit flat on top of there, and that will be my perfect bump key for a Weiser. You can do this method on any key you want.
