- Logistics strikes are broken in HOI4 no step back. Hoi4 supply was tough but now bombing makes more of a headache. Hoi4 dev diary's show the beauty of railroads now enjoy the hoi4 exploiting of strikes turning trains to dust.

Hey Feedback, just a tip is to use the divebombing spirit in the first slot of the airforce, it will reduce the cost of making cas variants by an absurd amount, you can make some crazy variants with it. super op
WELL SPOTTED! Some of the air sprits are mad OP

Honestly, they need to have logistical strikes be affected by either division AA or province AA. It's too overpowered if the only counter is fighters.
AA is mad effective vs CAS. But what do you do vs 10k CAS?
@@DaveFeedBackGaming rush AA2 and make a template of 15cw (7 inf - 1 aa)
@@DaveFeedBackGaming If they're on ground attack, 2x line AA in a division can destroy them in 5-6 months. But you can't shoot any of them down when they're on logistical bombing, it becomes obscene.

Hey Feedback! Just because it seems like you’re not sure why some of the stranger things are happening, if you take a deviant path as a major nation, the (typically Minors) AI will sometimes decide “wait a second, you’re not playing historically, so why should I!?”. So despite it being set to historical, not everyone will play along.
But UK plays historically
Facts. every time I've done a Tsarist Russia run, Lithuania thinks it can takeover Poland.
dude seriously the last time i tried to play as portugal and join the allies america decided it would be a good idea to attack the netherlands and join the axis
@@megasimp8885 XD
Not even just taking a deviant path.
As Germany I played historically up until I beat France, Poland, and Britain before 1941 (almost got the true blitzkrieg achieve).
Russia declared war on Japan, and USA and Mexico formed the “European Coalition” faction.
CAS is so powerful for both ground attack and logistics strike. Once again, great video, a true Hoi4 teacher.

Its just ridiculous how much you have to fix when your enemy turns logistic strike on.
Yeah, it makes it quite painful to play as minors. I almost got "it's lit" but apparently I was conducting war from a bombed out crater
My tried and true Germany build from over 50 ironman games is hamstrung by the Allies' incessant divebombing

I once destroyed the entire axis airforce with fighters and CAS as Russia. Then i logistic bombed them and could easely overun the Germans. It is a very easy tactic to use if you want to do the no step back achievement.
There should be an option to automatically prioritize building and repairing railways in the front your fighting. I get that pain of just spamming railways instead of actually fighting

Hey Feedback, when the Spanish civil war starts u have a few days at which the world tension is 5%. So you can so the shadow scheme much earlier then januari 1937.
I thought you need all 70 days to be over 5 world tension or it cancels
@@yoavroten it has been a while since i played Britain. I don’t remember if it needs to stay 5% or not
@@rubendeurloo2754 it needs to stay 5%
@@joelwit6878 No, it does not. If it starts above 5%, it will continue even when the requirements are not met.
Yes. I think it is roughly 17 July 1936. Complete 2 focus, then Steady as She Goes, then leave it blank until the axis sends stuff to Spain, and there is the window to grab shadow scheme and beyond
The moment I discover the worth of Air Force, they give more worth to Air Force

You can send an attache to Spain and if you do, you should have the war support you need for it with Stanley Baldwin. You might have to fall back to Early Mobilization if tension stays very low, or if Spain dies too quickly... But you can get Partial in late 36 if you do that.
Logistical strike is op especially japan vs china cuz even the little amount of railroads that china has you just destroy them and their equipment and win the war pretty quick
Also big army so they need loads of supply and have no air

FeedBackGaming saying that CAS is broken in Hearts of Iron 4 is like saying the sky is blue.
Can you cover how insanely unplayable minors have become with the new supply system Feedback? Can you break that meme for us mere mortals?
That's cool and all but having all your logistics fulfilled and still having "no supply lmao" in random spots is very frustrating
I think it has to do with paradox still sticking to the "if you don't own the province you don't get supply" be
Like dude I'm sure the trains and trucks can just drive up to the front and unload there, no need to keep the province thing in still
Railways and supply hubs take five whole ass days to flip. Not too bad with a general infantry offensive but when your motorized and tanks are outrunning your rail network it’s infuriating. Especially when you’re fighting someone specked into “entrenchment speed” five days is or is nearly full entrenchment.
When the video starts with Dave being patriotic you know its going to be a good video.
you should have taken the air spirit which reduces cost of air plain upgrades at like 75 % off. this spirit is affected by chosen air doctrine their is one for cas , one for strat bombers and a third one. itslike 50 air exp and you can get a max upgraded air model for like 525 air exp.
I loved that maxed range fighter 3. We have these sweet new engines that will go really far and fast! But sometimes they just explode when you take-off. Good luck, pilot!
Reliability for planes has such a miniscule impact that it's nearly meaningless. Accident chance is like 0.1%*(100-reliability). If you're losing more planes to bad reliability than to the enemy, it means you've won the air war.
@@magni5648 Losing that amount on every takeoff and landing does add up tho
@@marthvader14 Let's say you have a really bad reliability of 50% on a type planes. The formula means then that you will lose 1 plane per day if you have 2000 of them flying missions 24/7. (The game only rolls once per sortie, and any given plane can fly one day and one night mission per day.)
It's basically not even a rounding error. If you have 2k+ of a plane type actively operating, you're liable to be producing several per day.
@@magni5648 No, if the reliability is 50, you lose 0,1%×50= 5% of your planes at takeoff and at landing. At 2000 planes you lose 200 planes per mission cycle and I think if you let them fly day and night there are 2, maybe 3 mission cycles per 24h. By designing planes with low reliability you destroy your airforce yourself without an enemy needed
@@marthvader14 That's not how it works with percentages involved. It's 0.1%x50%, aka 0.1%x0.5, not x50. So you're losing 0.05%, or one in 2000 planes per mission cycle.
I nearly died with the Churchill clip. Awesome vid!
I really like the editing in this one

You've made the case that CAS is so unbelievably good that they couldn't possibly need another buff.
And here we are.
“Come back at 10k hours”. Fucking love it. Legend.
Epic meme on the thumb nail. Great video!!
Ok so those few ahistorical things that happened, like the non-intervention comittee from France and Latvia's civil war, probably happened because you went with "Global Defense", which is the ahistorical route. The AI automatically tries to balance out ahistorical actions by the player, even when playing on historical. That can reach from small things like in your game here, all the way to a Soviet civil war which I had once while on historical AI focuses.
Sadly, those seemingly small can also have a ripple effect like having the Soviets declare on an Estonia that refused annexation due to being in the Axis for example.
Edit: fixed some typos.
Also Allies helped dutch too, not only Belgium but it was too late

I have a question, for efficiency and effectiveness, how many divisions of air wings do I need for CAS, is it 100 like Fighter divs or 200 like in this video?
Feedback Gaming videos changed my life
Found this out myself and did a nearly fully air invested Germany. Couldn't break France because of bad supply, but I just set 2k CAS and 5k fighters over them and destroyed their supply. Killed Soviets in about a year and killed Britain within 2 weeks of landing.
Logistic strikes are really strong, especially against the Soviets to divert production to things like trains and motorized.
Tactic works since the first hearts of iron, you simply kill more on the frontline than there industry can reinforce the frontline.
If you add one "Verdun" still attacking area, with tanks, you simply grind them to no units with overrunning.

Does this mean it is more effective to just make straight cas/bombers when focusing on a strategy like this and forget about fighters? Do they provide enough air superiority on their own?
Depends on who you are playing. You can't prevent bombing with the CAS so you will still need fighters to stop enemy bombers. A country like Germany will have a way harder time with CAS alone.

Oh lord, that Spain in the final peace has a silent S
This is pretty much how all my USSR games have gone since the patch release ignoring tanks and spamming CAS or tactical bombers, the Germans push into sectors were you are bombing the logistics and they get to a stage they have no supply and no org and you can just push them back to Berlin easy as you just move the bombing sectors stopping them for getting supply back.
It's unbalanced. Ground attacked? Go fighters or go AA brigades. Strat bombed? Go fighters or go static AA. Naval bombed? Go fighters, CAG fighters or naval AA. Supply bombed? Go fighters or go home.
Gee, it's almost as if air defenses weren't a good substitute for having air superiority of your own IRL, too.
I wouldn't be disappointed with 9.2 inch.
Relatively new to the game. Was wondering if taking out supply lines was worth it. Found that it was a pretty effective strategy. Just have to be ready to repair that infrastructure when you occupy. Also, loved the Dschinghis Khan "Moskau! Moskau! near the end.
What was that spain? It hurts just looking at it
I think that, just as the Port Strike mission by torpedo bombers damages ships on port and the naval ports themselves, the Logistics Strike mission should also bomb airports and have the ability to destroy enemy planes stationed on that airport. Attacking enemy airports and planes that didn't take off was a tactic used by all sides on the war and it was performed by essentially CAS and tactical bombers. Strategic Bombers just don't seem to hit enemy airports very well, much less enemy planes and even so you would prefer your strategic bombers to hit enemy industry.
As I believe air should work:
- Close Air Support mission: attacks enemy divisions. CAS excell in this one
- Logistics Strike mission: attacks enemy trucks, trains, railroads, radar, airports (and planes stationed on that airport) and fortifications (damage to forts and reduce enemy entrenchment). Tac Bombers excell in this one
- Port Strike mission: attacks enemy docked ships and damages naval ports. Torpedo Bombers Excell in this one
- Strategic Bombing: damages enemy industry and infrastructure. Strat Bombers excell in this one
This provides a good niche for every type of bomber with some space for variation, and makes tactical bombers and carrier CAS way more useful
