Spoiler alert: it was later revealed that Hottie was actually a lawyer or something and incredibly intelligent and the whole Hottie persona of hers on the show was just a massive troll. She was trying to be as ridiculous as possible. What a legend
I kind of assume most of reality tv is just set up. But for some reason especially looking back on flava of love I think it was especially scripted. Just feels a little TOO weird. Hottie for the win for sure though ;)
That's cool, because I hate those kind of shallow shows. just the nicknames that were given to the women made me want to puke.

When this show was popular I was in my mid 20's and working as a freelance writer for several music magazines. I thought it would be a great idea to fake my way through this show to boost my career. During the many many attempts at making a video audition, I kept trying to say "I love flave" or "I have a special place in my heart for Flave" and I simply could not get a completed video because I kept laughing at myself.
I actually liked “Rock of Love” a little better. My favorite moment was when a girl read an entire love poem to Bret that she had written on the back of a herpes pamphlet.

My mom watched all the VH1 reality TV and I got roped into this one. Goldie was 1000% our favorite, she was just so sweet and hilarious. She wound up doing the Charm School show that was a spinoff of this and I watched for her.

Omg, 2003 - 2008, the "ratchet reality tv show" era. Another big one I remember from this time was 'A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila'. I remember thinking about that show earlier this year and wondering what ever happened to Tila Tequila so I looked her up. Holy mother of god...she's gone off the deep end.

This show was one of my guilty pleasures. Tiffany Pollard was a brilliant character. A few years ago, Schatar (Hottie) talked about being on “Flavor of Love”, and she said that her character was an act to get camera time.
That should truly have transitioned into an acting career for Ms Pollard because she was brilliant.

Flavor of Love was a wildly entertaining show. I wish your video had been longer, though. There's so much comedic fodder in every episode. If you can somehow get a hold of the two seasons of Breaking Bonaduce, well, that is not only VH1's best reality show; it's the greatest reality show ever. In fact, if more people had been aware of it, it probably would have ended the whole genre. It was incredibly gritty, and in retrospect, it's crazy that Danny Bonaduce and his wife allowed that to air. Nothing scripted, just a very intense and unbalanced guy with a drug problem whose life was crumbling before your eyes . . .
SO glad someone on CZcams is FINALLY reacting to Flavor of Love.
It was like a fever dream I thought I hallucinated in my teens that was never acknowledged.. until now.

I was surprised by how likable Flava actually was. How entertaining the show managed to be. One seriously couldn’t get better value if they’d tried to write this as a screwball comedy. Now I gotta go watch it again 😂😂

I was a teen when this first came out and it was the first reality show me and my uncle really bonded over, we LOVED this hot mess and drove my grandma crazy when we'd watch it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
