  • “For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content” (Phil. 4:11).
In this week’s sermon, Charles Spurgeon examines the importance of contentment in our lives as Christians - being satisfied with what God has given us, rather than constantly striving for more. As the apostle Paul implies in Philippians 4:11, contentment is not a natural state of mind, but rather must be learned and developed as we mature in Christ. Spurgeon emphasizes that God’s plans and purposes for our lives are perfect in every way, which helps to guard us from being discontented, no matter what our life situation might be. I hope you’re blessed by this message! - Joel
Topics Addressed: Contentment, Happiness, Peace, Joy, Gratitude, Blessings, Satisfaction, Envy, Covetousness

    Philippians 4:11-13, KJV
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

    Wow, what a sermon.
Thank you, sir for posting such an edifying, educational, and spirit lifting sermon by such a teacher as this. And praise God for His wisdom in my life; may I always remember it when the awful grumblings want to rise up in me so that instead, I glorify Him. What a God we love!!
