Mat 5:19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of shamayim (pw heaven), but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of shamayim. Mat 5:20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of shamayim (pw heaven). SIN in its deceitfulness, is the deceitfulness of SIN. Unfortunately, the daily Fruit of repentance, the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount is sorely neglected by many true children of God. Today, moralism, ethics, and virtues supersede seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness desiring more godliness only because we have been made holy by His sacrifice once and for all and being made holy (Hebrews 8-10) by the Holy Spirit! Romans 8 ~ I, too am guilty of this, yet, though He slay me, I will still praise our Lord God Almighty!😔

First time hearing Charles Spurgeon, now I know why I have back pain, (herniated disc) I have wondered off from The Good Shepherd to many times, I now know I must stay closer to him and finally let him lead me. I do love Christ Jesus.

The paradigm that we are simple sinners or limit ourselves to “not sinning” (which is different from loving) is contradictory to God's purpose in creating Man in His likeness! Since we are nothing more than “miserable sinners”. But, if God/Christ does all the work of Salvation, with what dignity will we enter Paradise? This narrative makes God a failure, because his creature seems more like a daughter of the Devil than a daughter of God! How did we fall into this contradiction? Because we don't admit that at least one man once was capable of an act of radical holiness!

A man of God, though he is physically dead, if he preached the Word of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his words will live eternally because his words spoken by him, are inspired by the Holy Spirit, and are the Spirit’s words through all the generations of humanity - men, women, and children. Notice how you can read a passage from scripture a hundred times and more - every time you read it again, the Holy Spirit of God can speak to you about another issue in your life, another facet as of a jewel in Christ’s crown being shaped day by day for His glory, which He intends for our good - if we will trust Him.

Looked for a true Easter sermon - there was not one at our church - rather, a drama, pastor speaking as John the apostle in first person, did eventually given which book and chapter, but never reading nor quoting the Bible … I wondered, for those who only come to church maybe twice a year - do they see and hear Jesus? It is not by man’s words, but by preaching the Gospel which the Holy Spirit uses to bring men, women and children to salvation in Jesus Christ … Our lives are a witness, a drama can be a witness - but neither a drama nor our lives are the preaching of the Gospel … Thank you for posting and reading this sermon in which Charles Spurgeon preaches Jesus reading and quoting the Bible, the Word of God!
