Mario Kart 64 - 4-Player Grand Prix (ROM Hack) (Actual N64) (Uncommentated)

We played this ROM hack www.romhacking.net/hacks/6711/ by HootHoot, which lets you play 4-player Mario Kart but with 4 other CPUs in Grand Prix mode. It's kind of strange in places, like I was afraid of touching whatever caused the names to appear as "BBBBBBBBB..." - I tried installing later patches than v1.0 from the author's Discord but they seemed even glitchier.
Also not sure picking 200cc for the Special Cup was a smart idea lol but at least it made the long courses go faster?

Would it be possible to put the course map in the middle of the screen and move the lap counter so it’s under the race placement (1st/2nd/3rd/4th), the way Wii and 8 Deluxe do it?

Looks like halfway through we changed some setting to make the map appear in the middle of the screen but I don't think we can change anything else, I didn't make the rom hack 🤔

@@Stopdoor you activated the ingame setting (c right) to replace the lap counter with the map but i wanted to see if this mod could make both the map and lap counter appear simultaneously
