Just a minor pet peeve but I noticed you used the exact same footage for Vanilla Lake 1 and Vanilla Lake 2 when Vanilla Lake 1 doesn't have that giant lake in the middle of the track. Also, in Bowser Castle 2 you're supposed to use a feather to jump over that dead end as a very effective shortcut.
“You know you love this one” actually I don’t love shy guy falls, to me it is just a generic track with some harder turns and a big waterfall.
I THINK that last time i watched the video the chapters worked lol. Anyways, thanks for putting them here too haha

It might just be me, but I love Yoshi falls. I will say I’ve only ever played the retro on mkwii but I love the simplicity, it’s one of those that you can just fly through. Obviously not in my top 10 or anything but I’m definitely not upset when it gets selected

Your #89, Koopa Troopa Beach, will always be my favorite.
I can remember being 6 or so years old, sitting down with my dad and my big brother, and THAT was dad’s stage. His favorite, we’d play it for hours to see who could stop the others from getting the shortcut, who could make the fastest lap, all of it. What good memories.

On SNES Mario Kart there's an item called a feather, which is used to super jump over certain gaps. The dead end on SNES Bowser Castle 2 should only be used if you have a feather.

@@drwugong I mean, on the flip side, requiring himself to play through every single game for the video means that getting a shallow view on some of the tracks is inevitable. There's plenty of tracks I didn't remember until I saw them again in this video. At least he recognized the power of normal jumps for getting over the small gaps, which is pretty easy to overlook except in the one track where it's required.

I'm happy that my favorite track placed so high. 3DS Rainbow Road was my first Rainbow Road, and it's just gorgeous. I can still remember all those years ago being nervous to try it because I'd heard how Rainbow Road usually is. Then, when I actually raced down that track for the first time, I was blown away.
I grew up with it too but Wii Rainbow Road is definitely better tbh

@@laurencepalmer1272 I have so many nostalgic memories from playing 7. Why on earth they picked Toad Circuit, easily the worst new track from 7, for the Booster Pass baffles me. Wuhu Loop, 3DS Bowser’s Castle, Shy Guy Bazaar, Rock Rock Mountain, Maka Wuhu, or 3DS Rainbow Road - I would be happy with any of those, but Maka Wuhu is probably the one I want most for the Booster Pass. That ending sunset in HD would be gorgeous.

Am I the only one that thinks Yoshi Falls is extremely underrated?
Me and my friends always have a blast on it, trying to force each other onto the long waterfall that you can't clear without a mushroom (or without losing a significant amount of time). It's either that or getting hit with whatever item we have.
Idk maybe it's just me, but I like it and seem to be the only one, as it always ends up at the back of rankings. I have never heard anyone say something good about it.

As a young child I was a huge fan of tick tock clock, glad to see it placing so well! I think my only major problem with this list is Yoshi Falls, very fun course to me gives a similar vibe to Baby Park

Was stoked to see Mount Wario at #5. It's my personal favorite track of all time from the games I've played. I love the feel, the variety, the fact that it's a single downhill adventure instead of a repeating lap... the start and ending both fell appropriately epic.... just everything I could ask for from a Mario Kart level.
Definitely one of the best Mario Kart 8 tracks, It displays the game mechanics so well. Antigravity on the dam, a great glider shortcut, Trees for difficulty, edgy cliffs at the start, and too many ways to trick and so many great spots to drift (especially on "lap" 3).
Cool to see it at #5 but the fact that it was above DK Mountain is wild

GameCube Rainbow Road is the greatest track for me. The music and visuals are unmatched

And a very underrated retro track
In my opinion. It has the best course selection in the whole series. It's full of quality tracks and remakes.

Mario Kart DS came out with some of the best tracks of all time! Waluigi Pinball is a classic!
My fave has always been Peach Gardens DS
Delfino Square is the goat,and DK pass is incredibly underrated(i like the secret item box)

Wario Mountain on MK8 is my absolute favorite. Its somehow the most adrelanin inducing track for me. And the music perfectly matches the track design and gives you a james bond moment when you drive through snow and trees like Bond on skis.

I knew Waluigi Pinball would rank high, but not THAT high. That was always my favorite track for the Mario Kart DS. I always loved that the traditional sound effects are replaced with pinball ones.

Might not be my favorite track to play on, but I absolutely love Dragon Driftway's OST. It's probably the only Mario Kart music I listen to while doing other things. But it makes sleeping a bit tough, since I always get pumped up when doing it XD
But alas, congratulations on managing to finish this video! I can't even begin the comprehend the amount of effort and time put into this while keeping it entertaining and easy to follow.
Surprised to the a DS track get the top spot of all things! Not as surprised to see all the SNES and GBA tracks on the lower rankings tho. Mario Kart is a series that keeps its core mechanics very faithful to its roots and keeps improving itself with each new game. All the new mechanics keep adding up to allow for more interesting track designs and don't feel like annoying gimmicks that take away from the experience. Even some of the older tracks become a lot more enjoyable with their remakes on Retro Cups when designed around them. Yeah the remakes aren't always kind to the track (see GCN Yoshi's Track), but it's still nice to see them with a new touch of paint.
Again, congratulations for the video, and I hope we can continue to see this series growing up!

My favorite track was always MK64's Yoshi Valley. I guess it's kinda gimmicky, but I always loved the idea of not knowing who was in first place, and going down separate tracks. It's so creative and so much fun!

It was basic knowledge and that gamble made it one of the best tracks. They ought to their research if they are going to rank tracks.

The ds was the peak of Mario kart track design, especially Mario kart 7, Mario kart 7 perfected past tracks and replaced boring big boost with the gliding panels

I was waiting for Waluigi pinball during the entire video and I got so shocked when it was ranked 1st. It’s really nostalgic but I definitely didn’t expect to see it at number 1

Honestly when I was thinking about what tracks I was familiar with that might be number 1, Waluigi Pinball came to my mind almost immediately and I said to myself that if it's not number 1 I'll be mad
when you think of mario kart two things instantly come to mind: rainbow road and waluigi pinball. an argument could be made that the DS limitations and emptiness of certain parts could be enough to not place it at #1 (even then, it's still one of the absolute best to drive through and most fun ever), but the sheer impact it had on the community with its music, theme and gimmicks cannot be ignored and it's definitely one of the few tracks that deserves the #1 spot on the list

Really well done video. Clearly you thought about how various aspects of the tracks play into its quality. The only hard disagrees I have with are Baby Park and Animal Crossing being so low, and Grumble Volcano so high. Baby Park honestly is incredible in how simple it is, should have been somewhere in the top 20.
