I'm 50 seconds in to this and I've already seen Brad smile more at this than any other song you've ever done!
He found true love
I don't think he's the first guy either
@@LN-Lifer He won't be the last guy, either.
@@rychenrollinc.3846 can't blame him.
My fave by her . But live is so much better
I don't trust anyone who doesn't love Alanis Morissette.
Have you heard the new release of You Oughta Know?
Brand new with orchestra
music.czcams.com/video/_KyaSUykNNs/video.html&feature=share
Yeah, I don't trust absurdly insane creatures, either.
@@LN-Lifer No I haven't
Amen !!
I think this is Alanis' best song, certainly very powerful when she does it live... it almost has a Led Zeppelin 'Kashmir' feel to it when the intensity cranks up.
I havent heard this song since highschool. Man, I was thinking the exact same thing!! Maybe just a hint of the last 45 seconds from November Rain too!
Great call
Good reference on the led
Totally!
Agreed!
Yep, Brad has definitely fallen under the Morissette spell. Understandably! đâ„
Edit: Y'all should do "Thank U" for the next one.
Yes!!! Do Thank u
Definitely !!!
My favorite song by her!!
Thank U had such a huge impact on my life. It still does.
And should watch this ONE PARTICULAR video of Thank U.
I love when Brad is basically falling in love and you get to watch Lexâs face as she tries to process it all. Sheâs listening a little harder as if to try and hear what Brad is hearing.
Or sheâs a wee bit jealous lol
đ omg yes
, you described perfectly, I noticed the same thing.
Brad's smile says it all. Brad just listen to the entire album Little Jagged Pill. Believe it or not, watching her do it live is even more fulfilling. Her videos are so fun. Hand in My Pocket should be next.
Absolutely ! ââ€đšđŠ
I've watched Brad react to hundreds of amazing classic songs, and with each one he stares at the screen, head cocked like a dog trying to understand it's humans words. Hundreds of classic songs, hundreds of confused looks from Brad. And then Alanis comes along and all of a Brad looks like my dog when I would scratch his belly and tell him he's a good boy. This is the look of pure love.
Will do!!
Yes, please react to her non-lyric music videos. You really are missing out on some really cool videos.
Jagged Little Pill is clearly in the top 10 album all time
This song was released as part of the movie soundtrack for 'City of Angels'... (Goo Goo Dolls had a huge hit 'Iris' from the same soundtrack album) The lyrics go well w/ the plot of the movie - Nicholas Cage plays an immortal angel who falls in love w/ a female surgeon, played by Meg Ryan. The conflict is that Cage's angel is responsible for collecting deceased souls for the afterlife, while Ryan's surgeon is dedicated to saving lives...
Meg Ryan was HOT AF. Was.
@@Valorius 100% WAS! IDK why already stunning people do that to themselves, all in the name of 'Growing Old Gracefully', when all it does it turn them into a caricatured waxwork figure of the beauty they once had. They look aweful....really...
@@omgitsjesus4505 Courtney Cox is the epitome of a plastic surgery nightmare.
The track by Paula Cole on that soundtrackâŠ. âFeeling Loveâ is one of the sexiest songs ever. My ex made me a mix tape (literally on cassette) many years ago that featured it with a number of other tracks and though things eventually fell apart, I fell seriously hard for her.
My God!! Iris was playing EVERYWHERE!!!
I'm a metalhead and this song is amazing. It makes you feel something and that's what music is all about
Listen to "Your House". Talk about some feels... DAMN
I don't think being a metalhead means you can't also listen to other genres outside of metal. I wouldn't worry about metal points being taken away by saying we also enjoy other stuff. đ ya know
@@opethdan2408 I absolutely agree. Hell I love some Classical music
Red sun rising does an accoustic cover of this and it's amazing.
The live version of this song is absolutely insane. When you have a live orchestra mixed with her vocals it's true perfection.
Yes! She did this at the Grammy awards with all the smoke ri sing with full orchestra!!!
Yes!!! She displays her amazing talent so well in the live itâs numbing.
absolutely insane only begins to describe it. lets add otherworldy, haunting af and perfect in every way.
It's so much better without the multitracking that's on this studio version, I know she does production but if that was her choice I'd be very surprised. The Grammy's live is how it should be đ
She plays God in the movie Dogma. She never speaks because the voice of God is too beautiful for humans to bear.
Please watch her do this live. Even if you donât put it up on the channel, youâre doing yourself a disservice if you donât watch it. She sang with a full orchestra and it was at an awards show, idk the Grammys or Oscars. If you think this made you feel something, Alanis hits a level of perfection and emotion in that performance thatâs unsurpassed.
czcams.com/video/FjTB6EG3xGo/video.html - Grammys
THAT : czcams.com/video/FjTB6EG3xGo/video.html ... Thanks L for pointing it out.. :)
As someone else said, this was created for the City of Angels soundtrack, a movie about a forbidden love between an angel and a mortal. Alanis was given a rough edit of the movie to watch before writing the song and at the time she wrote it she was also going through something in her personal life that she could write about and have it also fit the movie's characters as well. I think this is why the song hits so hard, she's writing from her own experience.
She had a stalker.
The song was written and performed on her album Jagged Little Pill 3 years before the movie ..
My favorite Alanis Morissette song. Hauntingly beautiful. Still gives me goosebumps. â€
It really is a stunning masterpiece of her vocals
Between her voice, the lyrics, and that orchestra kicking in, itâs just one of the coolest songs ever! Sheâs amazing!
Saw Alanis with my 3 kids (13-15-17 years old) they loved her. The crowd reacted to this song with roaring applause.
The live version of her singing this during an award show is phenomenal.
Agreed.
Yess,shes better live honestly
"Her voice is straight from Heaven"
Well she did play God once... đ
Boop.
Ironically with no voice đ
Alanis is such a brilliant singer. Her ballads can rock you to your core. Thank U is another great one. Her live performance of this song is flawless. This was from the movie City of Angelâs the part of the movie is heartbreaking and comforting at the same time
This is AWESOME....you she see a live version, she's INTO IT.
So true, I saw her last fall and it was EVERYTHING to see her spinning out under the strobes!
Her voice is flawless. The music to this song is spellbinding.
She wrote this specifically for the movie- itâs perfect. The entire soundtrack is so good- yâall should watch the movie! Itâs called City of Angels with Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage
I think that's the first time I've heard Brad say "PERFECT". Made me smile đ
Fun factâŠ.Her album Flavors of entanglement was written about her breakup with Ryan Reynoldsâ, they we together for about 6 years. Uninvited such a great song. Brad might love some Sarah McLachlan âpossessionâ is the most interesting because the lyrics are written from letters she received from a stalker. Who actually sued her for using his words, then killer himself. Lex brining up stalker sound made me think of it.
Sarah McLachlan is one of this Grunge Metal Heads guilty pleasures.
Yesss!! Brad needs to check out some Sarah McLachlan!! And youâre right,âPossessionâ would be the perfect song to start with!! I also think, dare I say, he should check out some Sinead OâConner as well.. I think heâd appreciate her vocal style! But instead of starting with her obvious amazing hit, âNothing Compares 2 Uâ, he should start with the classic âTroyâ from her Lion and the Cobra album from 1987!! Her vocals are mind blowing!
Yes! Some Sarah MacLachlan. Start with Possession. Would love to see that đ
@@Mar69Mars ah just realised they haven't reacted to Sinead O'connor yet. I second your suggestion, especially Troy!
Rabbit in the Moon remix for the win!
Brad would love â Your Houseâ on the Jagged Little Pill album. No music, sung acapella just Alanis and her amazing vocals!
That song is incredible!
Good call. Definitely for Brad
Totally agree. A capella separates the wheat from the chaff for sure. Her vocals are just stunning.
the song is a hidden gem if you listen to the whole album this one is played last/after you oughta now....it still gives me goosebumps.
The secret song at the 13min mark of the last track
You need to watch the live performance of this it is single-handedly one of the greatest female vocal performances ever. This song is absolutely brilliant
"Jagged Little Pill" was on of the best albums released in the 90s. When Alanis dropped "You Outta Know," that became my rock-out anthem, even though I hadn't experienced a bad break-up! Then energy was infectious. Brad likes her voice and so do I. There's nobody else who sounds like Alanis that I can think of. She has a quirky way of pronouncing her words when she sings that I just love. If you haven't reacted to "Hand in Pocket," you should try that one next. Or "Ironic." That's a great one. Cheers!
I'd argue front to back it's one of the best albums ever. Just powerful song after powerful song that never, ever get old.
Such an amazing artist, she will be remembered 50 years from now as such a masterpiece of musicianship from our era, this will stand out. She has so much in her library to offer.
When she sings this live, it's like an angel has descended from heaven.
She is a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice and has aged like a fine glass of wine. Totally understand Brad's smile.
I felt it when he said "It's Perfect"... No f****** hesitation whatsoever...that's f****** right... It's f****** perfect
I saw here at a small venue about 5 years ago. I was 10 feet away from her. It was her with two acoustic players only. No drummer, no bass, nothing. Just her and two acoustics. You wouldn't believe her voice. It was absolutely breath taking. We all just starred at her with our mouths open.
You are very lucky !
Alanis has one of the most amazing vocal sounds and style. A truly unique artist.
You should try her live versions, she's an exceptional live singer. This song is utterly perfect.. I fell in love with it instantly when I first heard it... The words, her vocals, the delicate parts, the build, the punchy hard part, the drums and guitar... Its epic.
I agree. Just an amazing song
My favorite song by Alanis. I adore this song.
Think Brad is falling in love
Lol before he even said it's perfect
He has good taste fer sure đââ€đšđŠ
Lex strikes me ss a jealous woman. Kidding
He better stick with Lex, she's a sweetheart.
I had forgotten just how amazing this song is â€ïž
Iâm absolutely moving Brad falling in love with Alanisâs artistry and voice. Looking forward to more. Loved it when he loved The Cranberries and now her. Also, please do more Bjork too.
Jagged little pill was a amazing album in the 90s
Alanis is a grandmaster. It's very rare to find music and poetry so well crafted and even more rare still to have someone as skilled as Alanis to be able to sing it. You are listening to the product of a countless number of events that eventually happened to come together to create this person who created all of this. You could live 10,000 lifetimes and not achieve such a result.
Iâm proud to say she is Canadian! đ Love Alanis. Iâd recommend âHead Over Feetâ next. Great reaction guys đđ»ââïžđđŒđđŒđđŒđđšđŠ
She's probably my all-time favorite solo artist. That voice, with that "hiccup" at the end of her phrases, those lyrics, just awesome. AWESOME.
I have never seen Brad so animated, excited, and happy. Haha.
It got the Brad smile of approval.
THIS SONG HAS A STRONG 70'S WOMAN VIBE....ITS PERFECT!!!..Taylor Hawkins was her drummer RIP....Brad I used the term perfect before I heard you say it!....Great minds brother. lol
Lol there's no other way to adequately describe this song
@@BradAndLex Right on!
@@GeorgeTropicana KLEENEX works wonders
@@BradAndLex Internal debate going on within herself, as he is not "The Type" of man she thought she wanted, but his ability to devour her intellect, emotions, sensuality, is forcing her to have internal conflict. How could she want him, but she knows she does, but he fits none of the parameters of what she thought she wanted. Heavy stuff, glad you enjoyed it Brad.
Alanis is just awesome *(^,^)* Her entire "Jagged Little Pill" album, start-to-finish, is a masterpiece. I really love the way she explores her outer world through her inner world... true art!
Yes I agree, Alanis Morissette is Perfect!
I can't help but think Brad is smitten with Alanis Morissette. He smiles through most of the song. She is amazing. Another fantastic singer from Canada.
This was used for the movie City of Angels. Itâs a perfect fit for that film. Wonât spoil it for you. Brad is totally crushing on Allanis
The harsh dissonance from the strings is very fitting for this one given how gut-wrenching City of Angels is. It's a fantastic film, just an incredibly tragic story, and this song definitely captures some of the emotion of that.
The most dramatic song ever written about a woman deciding whether sheâs going to sleep with a man pursuing her. I LOVE this song.
The slow burn of this song is brilliant. The build up to the crescendo coupled with her vocals is hauntingly powerful
You should check out her LIVE performance of this; was at the Grammy' s or Oscars so some such major event..........it is even more impacting..........
Easily a top performance in Oscar's history.
Favorite song by her!!! Can put it on repeat and never get tired of this song
Lex slowly realizing that Brad is absolutely in love đ
Brad was completely hypnotized until the end!đ€Ł Hand In My Pocket definitely a must!
Jewel singing Angel standing by at Woodstock 99 is a must for Brad to listen to now!!!!
The strings in this song are crazy. This is like the perfect song.
Never seen Brad smile like that before. Alanis brangs it
It was perfect because Alanis Morissette is the most perfect singer Iâve ever heard. I know music is objective, but Iâve never heard the music I love more than Alanis. There are so many great songs of hers to react to. Knees of my bees, eight easy steps, the Reasons I Drink, Guardian, Tapes, Woman Down, etc. Please go down this rabbit hole!
Times like these i wish there was a love button. â€ïž awesome to see Brad beaming!
"Voice from heaven"
That would actually be
Jewel- She's actually singing to me, but y'all can listen in.
Yea...but Alanis IS God according to Dogma!đ
Brad I really enjoyed watching you smiling to this song This song uninvited by Alanis Morissette was done with a symphony band. Recommend watching the video. Highly recommend checking out the song White hot by Tom Cochrane and Red Rider and the symphony. Then check out Supertramp Fool's Overture. Approximately 14 minutes of greatness. The thing about all these three groups. They are all Canadian. A little history on Alanis Morissette. In 1986 she was on a TV show based out of Ottawa Ontario Canada where she's from. The TV show was called you can't do that on television. He already did Tom Cochrane and Red Rider Lunatic Fringe.
The live performance of this... absolutely stunning! You need to check it out forsure. Brad would be in even more awe. Lol
Alanis has always been in my top female vocalists. I remember doing a report on her in junior high when she was still fairly new.
Alanis is the metalhead's pop star
This is off the "City of Angels" movie soundtrack which was and still is an excellent soundtrack. This is my favorite song by Alanis Morissette. Love the strings and her vocals sound great. If you have not seen the movie you should watch it as well.
Indy Pop
SHE IS PERFECT!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HER!
So glad you discovered her and this!
The live version of this at the Oscar's is incredible!
Brad got hooked by the Canadian VooDoo, but Lex was there like I see whatcha doing Maple Leaf
Love how Alanis uses her voice inflections and how she pronounces / extends words in patterns not typical in -English. A must see/listen from her is the song/music video "Everything" - please, trust me.
Brad, I donât think Iâve seen you react this positively since Shattered by the Stones!
Alanis was a major 90âs superstar! Her voice is so unique! This song was on The Crow soundtrack. Very mysterious!
"Don't care, sounds great ... I can learn what it's about later" - Brad has arrived.
Delores and Alanis both looked and sounded like Angels. Absolutely Beautiful in every way
I've never heard this before but I love it so much
YES! YES! AND YES!!!
This has been one of my favorite songs since it came out. It wasn't until I was much older that I understood what the song was about. But in all honesty, it made it that more beautiful.
This is my favorite Alanis song! Just haunting!
Alanis is absolutely untouchable, well her and Bjork.
Hey guys! If you want to hear a voice being prominant, might I suggest Agnes Obel. Check out her live performance of The Curse from the Berlin Live Sessions, it's fantastic.
Another singer that offers that same voice-up-front is Aurora. If you want to hear almost nothing but a fragile, beautiful voice, she's the one. A good song to start off is It Happened Quiet (Live at the Current) She also does a lot of great covers of other songs, her version of Ariana Grande's God Is a Woman is glorious. Murder Song live from nidarosdomen is another song by her that's faaaaaantastic, but it is fairly intense.
Another two songs with a similar vibe that I just love by another artist: Susanne Sundfor - White Foxes, just go for the official video. Another song by Susanne is called The Brothel, again, the official music video is great.
Those three artists are likely to make Brad tear up a bit. :D
These are all scandinavian artists(agnes being danish, the rest being norwegian), if it is one thing we do really well up here it is produce female singers with gorgeous angel-like voices who have no fear of standing out and making stuff you don't really hear much elsewhere. Often compared to elven music, whatever that is..
Everyone should check out these artists. They deserve to be heard by more people. Especially Agnes and Susanne who have somehow gone semi unnoticed by the world at large. There's tons more amazing stuff by these people, well worth digging your way through.
Love this song. All in sharp key, flat and strangEly mixed together.
I love it! I love Alanis, been listening to her since 1995! That was my senior year of high school, when Jagged Little Pill came out!
In case you guys didn't know, what happened was, this song is for the movie City of Angels, with Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage. Cage plays an Angel of the Lord who falls in love with Meg Ryan. He "falls" to Earth to become human so that he could be with her, and they are together for a while, then at the end of the movie she is riding her bike with her eyes closed and her arms extended, and is hit by car and dies! đ
Alanis's song plays at the end of the movie. đ
Don't know if you guys have ever seen her live? I saw her live for the first time in 2021, I flew out to Las Vegas from San Francisco. When she plays this song, toward the end when she says "it's not I think you're unworthy, I just need time to deliberate", she does this headbang dance with a strobe light.
The idea of the song is that she is Meg Ryan trying to resist the power of an angel who has fallen in love with her and she doesn't want it to overwhelm her.
In the play Jagged Little Pill which is currently touring, and which I saw last week, this song is used when the mom overdoses on fetananyl. I strongly suggest both seeing Alanis live and seeing the musical! đ
Still is another great song from her that transports me somewhere else altogether when I listen to it
Brad I absolutely agree. This is one of Alanis's best - and vocal perfection. The whole song is hauntingly beautiful. Iconic Canadian :) But you MUST watch the live concert version to get the full impact czcams.com/video/FjTB6EG3xGo/video.html
Alanis has had a long career. '80s - present. The peak years were the '90s and '00s. Talented and pretty lady. Its alternative rock with some classical music thrown in, BTW.
This is awesome! I'm love Alanis morissette, but this song live, is awesome, especially at the 99 Woodstock
Crushing it
The live version is AMAZING!
Love Alanis Morissette, love you guys. Keep on keeping on
It's a great song. Brad hit the nail on the head. It is a dramatic song...
there is a live version of this that is even better than the studio - LOVE Alanis!!
yeah I could watch more of Brad loving Alanis :)
Sooooooo many good songs that never get a look in!!!
I just checked and Brad & Lex haven't reacted to Jewel yet. It goes without saying, for the same timeframe of this song, Jewel requires a listen.
Great song, and it's hilarious to watch Brad's and Lex's reactions. He's soooo mesmerized, and she's just side-eyeing him with a puzzled look half the time. đ Then when it's done she's giving it a thumbs-up for all these (valid) analytical reasons, but with nothing like Brad's visceral, emotive reaction. Not saying good or bad; I just had to laugh at the huge difference, but that's what makes it an interesting reaction video!
3:55 I KNOW!! ITS AMAZING BRAD!! Love how he cracked a smile as she nailed that note. The way she can hold a note and then fade it away... Her voice - Its just so pretty and takes me back to the 90's when I was kid. I cant describe it. Whenever I listen to her it gives me the chillest 90's carefree vibes. I miss growing up as a kid in the 90's. Chills!!! Just something about the way she throws her voice and her facial movement singing is so beautiful. She has that 90's swag that can never fade. TIMELESS BEAUTY. Ok enough of me having a crush on her as a 34y/o dude XD.
Such a great song. James Bond vibes.
Opening credits yes
Always thought this had a Led Zeppelin feel. As others have said - the live version ( awards show ) needs to be seen. This is my favorite AM songâŠ
Yes the song is reminiscent of led zeppelin kashmir, in both there are two speeds, which makes the songs so special.
Therefore, it is a rock ballad.
YAY Brad!! BREAKTHROUGH!!! You don't have to know what it means to ENJOY IT! SO Proud of YOU!
Love this song. Very atmospheric and 90's
Feel like this song created Evanescence
i seem to remember my first hearing it, and having exactly the same reaction as Brad. You ought to give London Grammar a listen...... their song 'Hey Now' is fantastic. Failing that there's Eivors song 'Trodlabundin'. That will definitely blow you away but it's in Faroese i think so you might aswell watch the scenic video in the fjords.
He's a FAN fer sure ââ€đšđŠ
Alanis Morissette, singularly unique phenomenon đ€
Look at the smile!! This is my favorite Alanis song. She did this live at Woodstock 99 and it is equally flawless.
She's a brilliant lyricist, I love her. Hand in My Pocket and Everything are other really good songs of hers.
Other interesting songs -
Natalie Imbruglia - Torn,
Kate Bush - Running up that Hill
PJ Harvey - Mansize
I've never heard this (only the version by Freemasons & Bailey Tzuke, which is great) but this I assume is the original?
Yeah this is the original đđ
