It's so cute how much Brad loves Alanis, so smitten, and you can't blame him. She's incredible.
That's OK...I'm secretly in love with lex....and I have money đ...and I live in Florida....đ€«
@@rychenrollinc.3846 creepy! :P I kid I kid.
you don't hear that word often anymore... "smitten". But sometimes it's the right word for the right instance... and this is one of those times :P Brad & Lex are a fun couple who balance each other out pretty well it seems... at least on reaction vids. I can't blame Brad for being smitten with Alanis. I have always been smitten with her too.
@@pleutron no you were right. Thatâs creepy.
@@anomystic LOL would have been ok if he stopped at "I'm secretly in love with lex"
Brad is just plain smittenâŠ.
Happy he picked an artist of Alanisâ talentâŠ..she is amazing
That's OK I'm secretly in love with lex đ and I'm rich and I live in Florida đ€Ł
Fun fact; Alanis Morissette had a little supporting role in the Kevin Smith movie "Dogma". She played God.
Another fun fact...she was on you can't do that on television as a kid
Also she got Jay and Silent Bob rolls on Degrassi cause of it! lol
it was perfect casting.
She was not played God, she is a real God. - Kevin Smith đ She destoyed Ben Affleck's head with her voice in that movie, lol. đ
@@zokirocker5352 lol
She's awesome, I've seen her live 4 times. She plays guitar, piano, harmonica, and she played drums for one of her songs too ! Like I said, She's awesome.
idk what it is...maybe a Canadian thing, but Avril can play all these instruments as well...I think Canada just has a better expectation of their artists than here in america. they expect them to be actual musicians.
they britneys and all the other poppers at that time only sang...no musical ability in other places...one of the reasons they got more respect from me.
I hoping to see her in vancouver this summer
She also plays transverse fluteđ
0:41 Brad is personally serenaded and moved by his goddess.
Grammy Album of the year at age 21; she's a gem!
Brad is like a kid in a candy store grinning ear to ear.
Damn. If you guys are going to do her whole catalog⊠Iâm here for it all! Lol đ€©đ„łđ€đ€
Notice the total contrast between Head over feet and You Ought to Know. Here you can tell just how madly in love she is.
I think growing up on 90s pop really spoiled me on the quality of Melody and chord progression that was everywhere all day every day.
Itâs nice to hear her happy in this song- itâs actually not angsty! Canât go wrong with Alanis!
Yes, a rare happy llmodern love song but that isn't sappy either.
...she does seem to do plenty of "angsty"
The angst brought me there and keeps me here. I thought I was a spell caster when I was a kid and I got Uninvited as the secret song. I thought she was in my room. I thought I had powers. Maybe
Youâre in luck, she did an acoustic version of this entire album. I actually prefer that version. Check it out because itâs incredible.
Head over Feet (Acoustic) - czcams.com/video/5TbyroRTCUQ/video.html Head over Feet (Acoustic) - czcams.com/video/6IvWc0xCYkk/video.html (from the Jagged Little Pill Collector's Edition)
My son and I saw her yrs ago in concert acoustic in Niagara Falls NY
so do I! her voice now, I would say is so so good so soothing
Brad got his smile on again. I wonder why? đ
Now you're understanding why this album was a monster album... truly in the category of the best ever, depending on personal taste
She owes a lot to Joni Mitchell for her word phrasing and writing style
I love that you are going through the whole album. You wont be disappointed.
I hadn't listened to her in many years. A bit older now, wiser, and more open to talent without care of genre has given me a newfound respect for her that I don't think I'd have, if not for you getting me to listen to her again
Thatâs great to hear. Iâve always listened to multiple genres. But if it wasnât for seeing my first YT Tom Macdonald reaction, I wouldnât have a clue or âwantâ to hear from some random white hip hop artist either lol.
She's pretty talented for a......Canadian >:)
@@yakkodawakko9387 hey!!! We have many đđšđŠđšđŠđšđŠ
Every song on this album is a bop! She's an absolute legend.
The 90s had such empowering women rocking the fuck out!
"All I Really Want" must be next? Alanis uses all her vocal acrobatics in probably her best rock song
Brad is all smiles when it's an Alanis song haha
0:37
oh, I'm seeing her later this year, she's playing this album in full. Nice.
That sounds like a good time.
@@pleutron fingers crossed, its been postponed about 3 times so that anticipation is building haha
She created the expression: The origin of the term "friends with benefits" is difficult to trace, although it is regularly used and practiced in today's society. The earliest known use of the term is documented in Alanis Morissette's song Head Over Feet when she says, "you're my best friend, best friend with benefits"
This is one of my favorite Alanis songs.
Make the next song you guys play by her be âAll I Really Wantâ. It has over the top vocals, excellent lyrics, has a great beat, -- A total banger!! Itâs was the first song that I listened to by Alanis on an Alternative radio station as I was driving to work at 11:00 pm getting ready to work the graveyard shift, that propelled me to immediately by her album. They started playing it before I ever heard âYou Outta Knowâ. I was hooked from the start!!! đ
Brad, Lex is so jealous of your fascination with Alanis. I can see by the way she reacts to you listening and talking about it. Lol
Right? ...that flat-lined lip...đđ#dangerWillRobinson đđâš heehee...Brad's crushin'...đđ„Žđ #hesgotalottosay ...
I think the word you are looking for is "phrasing". Alanis has very unique phrasing.
Honestly one of the greatest love songs written
Agree. She's so beautiful and her voice is unmatched
Alanis Morissette is my favorite artist ever. Thereâs not a single day that goes by where I donât listen to at least Hand in my pocket! đȘđŸ
When u can listen to a whole album love every song & never get tired of it⊠thatâs music!âđ»
@Mike, me too, also, the best female songwriter. đ
That "in spite of me" line is the most self-aware line in a binder full of self-awareness.
Alanis is one of the biggest stars of the '90s and '00s. Plenty of great videos and songs from her. Yes, she plays harmonica and guitar and is an actress, too.
Brad gushes on Alanis Morrisette just as much as Lex gushes on Robert Plant/Led Zeppelin doing hard blues rock covers on old blues songs. lol. Great artists, though.
This is still the greatest full album from the 90âs. I canât think of one better full album from the 90âs
She used to be married to Ryan Reynolds. She also used to be on a TV show called "You can't Say That on Television". She also played "God" in the movie Dogma.
She also currently has a recurring minor character in the tv show The Great North.
When Alanis was a younger girl, she started her career on a Canadian Television Show called: "You Can't Do That On TV." A comedy skit show where she was very funny and loved. Her fans lost track of her as she was coming into her adult self, and were totally blindsided when she exploded onto the music scene. She was struggling to be taken seriously, but that's what fed her frustration and caused her breakthrough hit, " You Oughta Know" from her album Jagged Little Pill.
It would not be complete without Alanis Morissette, Brad's new found love, lol.
Yes, Brad is head over feet for her. Hope Lex isn't too jealous, lol
Well, I think its safe to say we know who Brads "Free Pass" would be! lol
Im smitten by how smitten they are.
Fun fact: in the part she says "best friends with benefits" is actually the first time that this term was ever used (as far as we can be aware of), so in a way you can pretty much say that Alanis is kind of responsible for spreading this expression.
Lovely reaction as usual, I recommend you guys react to All I Really Want by her, vocally it's one of her most incredible and peculiar songs, and the lyrics are awesome. Hands Clean is also a highlight because of its amazing lyrics too.
Sorry, but Friends with benefits has been used long before Alanis. My parents used the term in the 60's.
@@janster3000 well, how convenient for you, hum?
@@LucasSantos-ef5cg Just correcting you. Not everything you read is the truth. Have a wonderful lifeđ€
Brad, my man, now you know what a Siren is! Thank God most women don't know how much power they have, LOL!
Alanis playing God in Kevin Smithâs Dogma just might be the best casting of a movie character ever. Sheâs perfect đ
yall need to hear âthat i would be goodâ live. itâs so good and you can see people emotional in the audience.
Brad: "The vocals are still good.. that's the rules!" đ Love it.. and he's right!!! đ BTW.... the way she pronounces her words in singing.. is usually referred to as a "stylistic" choice. She's so authentically Alanis and stands completely alone in her sound .. and you can't really compare her to anyone else. Anyway... her music has stood the test of time... and I think always will. Thanks you too... I love your reactions and your channel!! đ„°
alanis morissette - your house (forgive me love) bonus track he gonna love it
Alanis morrisette was THE artist of the 90s
This song and many others of hers are undeniably catchy.
The way she sings is called âannunciates âthe words.
So many Alanis Morissette songs played on the radio when I was younger, so hearing them now is so nostalgic. Many of these I haven't heard in 20+ years, yet used to be played over and over again. My mom had whatever station played them constantly while I was in backseat of the car lol.
In this song I always thought she was saying "You dont have to run me over" lol
0:37 The one and only Alanis. The way she throws her voice
I love how Brad always starts smiling during her songs. đ
Im curious, what his facial expresion will be about Real World video - Alanis as a teenager in a cage with a large python snake. đ Halo 911, I think my housband has a heart attack ;-)
Lex better watch her manđ
Brads lovin on some Allanis â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Good no matter what. That's the RULE!!!
Brad is always cheesin when listening to to her.
She's got tons of good songs.
Alannis Is 90's Gold
It was a monster album with hit after hit.
I think you would love Jewel!!! Who Will Save Your Soul, You Were Meant For Me, and Foolish Games!!!!! She from the 90s too!!!
Itâs such a beautiful song itâs a pity Lex canât read while listening
She was really great in the 90âs. Youâll be less impressed with her work after that but I love her and Iâm glad you both do too. She still has some gems later on in her career.
She's widely credited with popularizing the phrase friends with benefits in this song. She's the shit
This is probably my favorite song of Alanis' Jagged Little Pill album, although it is definitely a close call. Absolute magical and phenomenal album! BTW, search on Head Over Feet acoustic and you will find that she made one....
She does this whole album in acoustic as well. You should hear it, itâs amazing as usual.
It is sort of insane how many hits this album had.
I was waiting for this one. I knew Brad would love this one.đ
Lex commented about how her music was harder than you would expect from her voice. She had great musicians in her band, including Her drummer, Taylor Hawkins, who went on to be the drummer in The Foo Fighters, and who just recently and tragically died.
There's also a version of this song on her MTV unplugged that kicks ass. Chris Chaney, her bass player at that time, is amazing.
This is my favourite love song, it's quite unique and very thoughtful, it feels personal, if that makes sense.
Welcome to meeting 237 of Brad's " Alanis Morissette Appreciation Society "
Seriously though - it's good to see some music that's finally touched your soul !
There is an acoustic version of this album! She also did MTV Unplugged, so thereâs an album of that too.
Alanis is fluent in harmonica, flute, guitar, bass, vocals oh and French!
she has a couple songs from her latest album (2020 i believe) that are worth a look: 'Smiling' and 'Ablaze'. her voice hasn't really changed that much, if at all.
The one on Fallon during lockdown...with her daughterđ
Not sure if it's the same album, but I fell into a damn wormhole when I first heard "Reasons I Drink." Love it.
@@reanimated yup, it's on the same album and it's also a good song.
Brad's smile was too cute
I love you both.
Brad- i adore you for loving Alanis. You got it, bud. Thank you.......
Keep the Alanis tracks coming, guys :) Also recommend: Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell.
You need to listen to What I really want, that's classic Alanis!
A lot of guys really enjoy alanis myself included. I use to say she's my guilty pleasure but I'm proud to like her music she's badass
You should check out her live stuff which really highlights how great she is. Awesome reactions ââ€đšđŠ
The magic of music. It can make forget the rules you set for yourself. Just look at Brad lol. It's lovely to see.
Someone loves Alanis more than I?
Damn Lex is amazing as JP said. Cute as a button, such a happy soul, wide eyed and bushy tailed. Lex doesn't make judgements about ppl and accepts them as they are. Wished I had met her when I was young, even if she's out of my League.
Yes, go for it, Lex! Sing this for Brad on his bday! We all would be here for that!
omg you have to to listen to her acoustic album it is just out of this world! she has the most incredible voice and it really shows even more in her acoustic album! please listen! So worth it!!!
One of my favourites...
Here in Canada, men like jagged little pill more then the women. Thatâs her beauty, all the men agree with her. She spoke for all of us.
I'll post this again in case it was missed as it's quite cool - you might find this interesting. She had a couple of pop albums in Canada before she made JLP and became well known. This is an interview with her when she was in high school in Ottawa. @
YES LEXđ€ That's exactly how I started learning songs, only I didn't have internet or YOU TUBE to learn how to play, if I was lucky I could afford a tab/ chord book otherwise it's listening to a song a million times till I figure it out. You have an advantage I didn't have back in the 90s but that's a good thing. You guys have so many different styles of music to choose from , it's gonna make you both more diverse as artists and you'll be able to play all styles of music. đ€Keep Rockin U.2
So glad you're sticking with this album - like I said, it's got a number of female anthems for that decade, and I can still score some points with the ladies by playing something from this album on the jukebox down at my local tavern.
I am 60 and I have spent most of my adult life trying being the man she sings about to my wife. Sadly, I mostly have fallen short, but there have been days. For all that, I did my best and now there are generations, off to play with my grandkids, life is in fact good.
In an episode of Curb your Enthusiasm Alanis sings the end of "Precious Illusions" and the beginning of "You oughta Know" with a single guitar accompaniment while wearing a huge neck brace because she got in a car accident in Larry David's driveway.
This song is absolutely beautiful in its simplicity!!
One of my favorites
Bradâs got a crushâŠ
If you want this in acoustic, she has done an MTV unplugged set. Check that out.
Great album front to back for sure.
I love watching you both react to the singular talent of Alanis
Alanis Morissette is a great Canadian singer-songwriter.
This song shows the Sweet and Vulnerable side of Alanis, maybe this is what happened before You outta Know before things went wrong.đ€
Fun Fact: The term "Friends With Benefits" originated with this song.
When I saw her sing âThat I Would Be Goodâ live on MTV Unplugged? Yep totally won me over. I knew she was amazing, but that performance nailed it for me lol Brilliant artist!
I saw her when she just started. She played in a beer bar in Indianapolis. Taylor was her drummer.
She put out her first cd at age 12. Toured for years before Jagged. A few albums and a few music vids way before you saw her.
Brad wishin what every guy wishes that a woman would consider him as much as Alanis does in her songs.. we feel ya Brad....keep the dream alive bro
Head over feet is the way it's supposed to be- that's right side uP- HEALTHY!
