"She's not even human.... She's some mystical creature from far, far away."
You have to watch Dogma, now, Brad!
And if you don't want to support the Weinstein Co. you can watch it right here on youtube.
@@mage1439 only way I do watch it, is on CZcams. It's not even cut to pieces. The whole thing is available đ
*boop
OMG, I forgot about that!! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
The end of the era when human beings sang their own songs without robotic assistants. â€
artists who sing are still out there.. come on.
I agree, Alanis ruled the 90s then the Britneyâs came along âŠ. Not that thereâs anything wrong, but you had artists like Alanis, Fiona, Gwen, Jewel and thenâŠ. *NSYNCâŠ.
@@jtarantula3390 funny how your whole list is US artists only đ
Sounds facetious, I know, but the singles charts were actually determined by young girls as they were the largest purchasers of singles.
If you want to see which artists actually were best, you should look at Album charts :) more of a cross section.
In saying that, all the artists on your list rank well there too (nsyc, cult of personality).
Globally, these artists were massive too, but many others of the era were not American, not US Billboard, and greater than many listed. Always subjective though, so I am being facetious đ€·ââïž đ« đ€Ż
Well voice manipulation on records or live exist since the 70âs so youâre a little bit late
@Forst Last Not a true comparison.. ariana is comparable to the pop stars that dominated when Uninvited was released.. true industry pop like britney spears.. assigned songwriters to them.. ariana is not comparable to an artist like Alanis.. The FM radio gatekeepers decided back then that britney was better than Alanis. I challenge you to dig deeper if you can only think of Ariana as a comparison. There are absolutely female singer songwriters that have great voices and sing good songs that they write. Those same gatekeepers who promoted britney over this song are in even more control of the airwaves in 2022. F the gatekeepers.
This song is incredibly restrained because it wants to go hard. Alanis is one of those rare artists that can successfully pull off that sound.
Yeah, you can feel it.
Kind of the same way you could always feel Weezer wanting to just turn into full-blown metal.
No autotune there just pure talent something that's missing in today's popular music
I 100% agree with Lex. This is her hardest song, seriously. Not headbanging hard but emotionally and vocially, all day! Great reaction guys!đ
I think you oughta know goes harder, but I get where you're coming from
She does head bang to it in concert !!!
As an Elder-Statesman of Heavy Metal Fandom, I can unequivocally state that, while this song is not Heavy Metal...it is Metal. đ€
I think Mary Jane is her most emotional, hard hitting song, but this was is amazing as well.
We saw her live in Toronto several weeks ago. She was incredible! Not only does she sound exactly like she does on her CD's she sounds like she's been practicing every single day since JAGGED LITTLE PILL was first released. If possible, her amazing voice may even have gotten stronger and she doesn't seem to have lost any of her range.
If you're not a concert-goer and you're only going to see one concert in your entire life go see Alanis! You won't be disappointed!
I've seen her three times and ready for more.
I shelled out the big $ to see Rammstein this summer (Montreal), if not I would have sprung for Alanis. It just cost too much, unfortunately. It was Budweiser stage, not Scotiabank or something, so the cost was surprising.
Glad she put in a good show for you âșïž
That's Alanis. Big potent voice but brings so much emotion. Put her on stage and let her go get it.
This song was written about a stalker she once had. Very powerful and haunting. The song was also used in the movie City of Angels.
@@jamesw.5855 I read it somewhere a long time ago.
@@jamesw.5855 Either way it is a great song.
@@debbieplato5107 Fabulous song.
I highly doubt that since it literally contains the lines "I don't think you unworthy, I need a moment to deliberate". Seems like a man that she isnt sure that she wants in her life. Not a stalker
My favorite movie of all time. Has an amazing soundstrack!
Oi, Alannis always sounds amazing
How can she sound this good live?
I like watching her mouth too, her facial expressions and head wobble is also fascinating as she sings. However, I think I mostly enjoy watching her limp-wristed hand movements as she expresses her emotions and lyrics when she sings. She really puts herself into the moment.
This song is awesome... it has a Led Zepplin "Kashmir" vibe... the crescendo is epic!
Exactly. I could get what Lex was saying after the "kick," when all I could compare it to was Zeppelin. Spot on.
Very much so.
I'm so glad you guys checked this out. It is by FAR the BEST performance of this song. Backed by the orchestra - she gives a phenomenal rendition of it.
It's haunting lyrically, musically, and visually
what an awesome couple, the blueprint of human male and female
Her voice is extremely powerful. Thereâs times where she has to turn her head 90° away from the microphone so she doesnât send off a note too loud.
Brad, Alanis is flattered by your fascination with her! đ
đ đ đ đ đ đ đ
Oh this version is so amazing. One of those songs that gives me goosebumps.
Every single time I hear it, I get goosebumps. This song is so incredibly haunting.
I remember watching her on "You can't do that on television" .
It's incredible how she found her style and strength in life. Her musical style is definitely uniquely one of a kind. Powerful, controlled, deeply satisfying.
To watch her go from child tv star, to Platinum selling Disco Diva Teenager, to one of the world's greatest singer songwriter's has been an honour.
Alanis helped me understand and relate better to women. She's got a brilliant way of inviting us into her mind.
I adore Alanis. She sings it straight from her guts.
Canât beat an orchestra! One of my favorite performances ever!
Alanis is amazing. Such a great & different sound.
Shes one the best in my opinion ..her voice and writing is top top notch. People sleeping on that one
The music is very Led Zep Kashmir.....
I think what Lex is referring to by "hard" is the driving beat of the song. And, yes, her vocal control is pretty amazing.
Alanis never got the respect as other female singers-Sheâs better then most of them today
Agreed. She should be talked about more. I mean, she gets respect. But not like she deserves. She's incredible.
Goosebumps To This Day Nothing Is Better Than Rock Backed By An Orchestra đ„đ„đ„
I agree Alanis is like a mystical creature
Love this one
This version was the coolest thing ever when it happened.â€ïž
She wrights her music. It's crazy how talented she is.
She doin the song even more intense live now in 2022đđđ§đ»
Saw her in concert a few months ago in Milwaukee. She was amazing, singing perfectly and dancing all over the stage
She had the best facial expression when she sings â€â€â€â€
What I love is that the orchestra behind her plays with SUCH passion and as hard as they can without distortion and she can still sing louder than them and just so pure!!!!! Amazballs!!!! And you understand every damn word she sings and itâs clear, crisp and she sounds like she isnât even straining!!!!! One in a billion!!!!! Such a talent!!!! We are blessed!!!! Thanks for this!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!đđ€
One in a billion is a bit much. She does sing tremendously and without difficulty for the various swings in the melody. But one in a billion...no.
@@unclebobunclebob No worries. Haters always hate!!!!!
@@SWTSU She does sing tremendously...dude...that ain't hate. Try dealing with reality.
@@unclebobunclebob 1 in 999,999,999 then. More accurate.
'Forgiven' is a monster of a song, both of you would love it, as it's one of her heaviest tracks.
The entire soundtrack for city of angels is just soooo good
Love this song.
There's only one person that can can sing this song and deliver. That is Alanis.
This is my favorite song of hers, by far. I wasn't into her music when she was active in the 90's but really have come to appreciate her now. The lyrics are powerful and emotional, and she stresses these multi syllabic words in a way that is uniquely her. Another artist who absolutely crushes live performances is Aurora. I highly suggest you check her out. She is not of this world.
Every time I hear this, the goosebumps and tears start. Just deep hitting.
What an Absolutely Amazing Performance by Alanis. Mind Blowing Vocal & Band Performance with the Orchestra. Just Magical
Lex is right. Uninvited is the greatest Alanis Morissette song.
The voice, the lyrics, the music...... the best.
I love watching Brad watching Alanis.
Hands down her best song... Not even close
One of my favorite parts of the movie "City of Angels." Majestic and stunning, every time.
This performance is a masterpiece đ âš
You should react to alanis singing ablaze on Jimmy Fallon with her daughter. It's priceless
Wife here... , She sounds sooo Amazing Live !!...and Lex I agree sort of creepy..,But GOOD creepy!!!...This gives me serious CHILLS!!...It is interesting to watch her mouth Brad..Thanks Guys!!
This song was written for the soundtrack of City of Angels, which tells the story of an Angel (Nicolas Cage) who falls in love with a human woman (Meg Ryan). The context is there.
I think you guys need to listen to some experimental rock/orchestral music like Sigur Ros. I think you would love their sound.
Nice timing. I grabbed Jagged Little Pill yesterday at a thrift shop for a dollar. I already knew like half the songs on the CD but it's a great album. Alanis is fantastic.
Alanis is a (North) American treasure
She still sounds great
My favorite Alanis Morissette song đ” †Brad you're hilarious đ
yeah... that was perfection
This song has always had a special spot in my heart, itâs haunting
Your smile when the music came back after just her singing and the piano made my day! Alanis is simply a life saver for me. Her album Such Pretty Forks In the Road is beautiful and amazing. The tracks Reasons I Drink, Losing The Plot, Her and Nemesis are my favorite Alanis songs out of the hundreds of Alanis songs there are to listen to. I hope you are doing well this Saturday afternoon!
All her music is intense.
It's refreshing to see a smile on Brad's face instead of his usual 'who farted?' look.
Saw her live once. Incredible performer.
I don't know why, but as I watched this reaction, I kept thinking I'd love to hear Lex sing this.
I think, Lex, it's her most challenging because there's nowhere to hide from her vocals
Creature from a land far far awayâŠ. Canada đšđŠ
ALANIS. â€đ€©
Lyrical Lullaby! She Always Delivers!! âđ»âïž
One of my favs of hers. The haunting piano part always reminds me of the piano in Halloween.
BEST VOCAL FEMALE OF OUR TIME, SHE'S JUST AMAZING
Alainnas is amazing. Thanks for reacting.
So dramatic & operatic! AND she can do it live.
My favorite Alanis song!!!!!
lex is hella cute. the way she smiles and how you can just tell when she loves a song
Not only the voice, but the band\orchestra behind her bring it!
She was in the movie Dogma as god.
She is amazing!! Love her in concert! So fun
I couldnât come here quick enough when I saw the notification. I love this song itâs definitely one of my favourites. I only found this version after I heard a dance version. They both sound different but I love both.
My favourite song of hers. You mention she is not human. She played god on the movie Dogma
This live performance may... maaaaay be the best version of this song. I've seen her live many, many times and every time she performs this... even when there is no orchestra... is SO powerful, hard, intense... emotional. Every time!
She definitely should have done a Bond theme song
She is majestic , and so are you !
You should check out the Howard Stern acoustic version of 'You Oughtta Know'...really showcases her voice really well. I think she's better at this age than she was when she recorded it for the album. Just ultimate control of her voice.
This has always been my favorite song of hers.
Alanis Morissette - "Perfect" is dope!
Great song
This is and always will be the most powerful Grammy performance ever pay attention to the camera. Amazing.
No one can stretch a syllable out like Alanis.
I have loved this song since it first came out and grew to love it even more knowing the context behind the story she's telling.
But yes... Home girl's got a big ol' mouth! But that's one of the reasons she's able to project her voice as well as she can. It's one of the best features of her instrument. đ
Saw her live along with Tori Amos. What a show. Those are two bad ass women that are SOOO talented. Just brilliant!
Listening to this performance is, and I don't mean to be cliche, kind of like having a meaningful religious experience.
A brilliant song!!
This is the song that got me to understand jagged little đ
WOW!!! That was amazing! Beautiful! Powerful! Superb! Unbelievable! Goosebump inducing! There's just not enough words.
I remember when this was on. Watched it with some friends who had no idea she had this in her. I knew. They were speechless at the end of this.
Alanis the GOAT along with Tatiana đ
You should do the live version of You outta know on David Letterman
today was a shit day and you just turned it around and put a smile on my face. Reacting once again to one of my all-time favorite vocalists. Having a drink so cheers to you!
This one Grammies for Best Rock Song and Best Vocal Performance, Female. It is one of two huge hits from the movie, City of Angels, the other being "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls.
Great movie, amazing soundtrack!
She is a one of a kind talent..no doubt
Definitely vibes if youâve lost someone. It resonates that haunt
Wow...she sounds awesome, singing live !!
