- Outbreak is set 10 years after the movie Aliens. This story focuses on two of the survivors, Hicks and Newt. They have both been struggling with the aftermath of their encounter with the Xenomorphs. Hicks has never gotten over the annihilation of his squad and agrees to covert mission to travel to the alien home world to recover some eggs and destroy the hive.

Killing Hicks and Newt was the movie franchise's greatest sin. Everything went downhill from there. It completely nullified Ripley's redemption.
It’s why I find Alien 3 an okay sequel.
Redemption from what she was never a bad guy.
Not redemption, character growth. OG Ripley was cold and closed off from the other crew, Ripley after A2 cared about even the android.
She's kind of a space ho after 1. She flirts with Hicks despite losing her daughter in 2 and sleeps with Clemens in 3 after losing Newt and Hicks.
The death of hicks and newt shows the futility of her actions , it’s a horror film not a Disney movie , the innocent child and the hero die and she realises she is in this hell forever
Yeah, a friend of mine said it best, "The story ends after the second movie. That poor woman, marine and little girl all deserved to live happily ever after."
I hated that they killed off Newt and Hicks. The franchise just took a nose dive after that.
I respected the fact that they had the BALLS to murder those two innocents, one of them a little girl. But I didn't really like the Alien movie that takes place on the prison colony or Aliens Resurrection - except for the gross part with the human-alien hybrid getting sucked through the hole in the porthole of the ship and being absolutely obliterated. That part was awesome. Also, more bloodshed.
Nah man, despite it's issues, Alien 3 was still a good movie, Resurrection on the other hand, well, we don't talk about that one.

Lots of real people deserve to live happily ever after and yet die horribly. This is a horror franchise. It reflects the horrors of our world.
Disagree, you just need to appreciate different movies with different directors. I love aliens but james cameron did not leave much for a follow up after setting up Ripley with what is essentially a “nuclear family”. This isn’t the MCU, it’s a gritty cynical Ridley Scott world and you should appreciate that. Alien 3 isn’t perfect but it’s unique and true to the Alien franchise.

I will never get over how cynical killing Newt was, just merking a little girl off screen and just totally capping all of Ripleys arc and development.
Yeah. I remember being little watching it for the first time and I was like wait, they're allowed to kill kids in these movies? Lmao. Terrible way for the story to go imo.
Yeah I can’t understand how you get this awesome story line coming out of Aliens with many great directions to take it and just decide to throw out everything. They handed you the keys to the kingdom and ya squandered it!
How do you suggest they keep Newt the same age, given that a lot of time passed in the real world between 2 & 3? A simple recasting? I promise you, that would have led to just as much outrage.
@@rogerswab2131 no way man. Carrie henn did a great job as newt but in no way shape or form was she irreplaceable. As long as the character is still intact the actor playing the roll shouldn’t matter. Besides newt would have been slightly older anyway because there definitely would be some in universe time skip going on between movies like the comics.

This makes me love the idea of an Aliens tv series.
It could be based on a new colony which slowly builds episode by episode to some colonists getting impreganted by the face huggers. Season 1 could end with the first Xenomorph bursting out and running free.
After the failure of the Predators the Engineers made a replacement xenomorph quadruple checked and designed to wipe out both Predators and black strain xenomorphs, they are brown and won't attack you if you leave them alone. They don't use hosts either. They are the clean up squad to cancel the previous errors made by the Engineers.
I saw Alien 3 in theater. The first 30 seconds were the most disappointing scences I can remember from my youth. I had no idea this story existed. Im happy I found this!
Wish he stuck in this direction. It's nice to go back to your roots every now and then.

I say throw everything after Aliens (1986) and start with a prequel of Hadley’s Hope and then pick up the Dark Horse Comic story lines of this epic story/movie line.

Knowing what xenomorphs are in the end is sort of hilarious to think of someone worshipping a xenomorph is like someone worshipping a bullet or tank.
We need a hard-core rebooted sequel to Aliens. I wish Neil Blomkamp would have got to do his virson. He was the perfect fit as a director.
Not a chance that would’ve been good. I love Aliens but let it rest. The characters died in Alien 3. The story ended there. Many of the leaked things that came out of that project are underwhelming.
Well that was fascinating. It's a shame we never got a direct sequel to Aliens 2. Easily the best film of the franchise

Every time I see the art of Xenos wearing military headgear I get excited it’s so damn cool to me. Every time I see Trex scenes in Jurassic movies I can’t help but think when the next big xeno mama is gonna appear in this franchise

I admit this sounds like a way better alien 3 then the one we got , my only complaint is why isn’t Ripley involved in this story ? It’s not like to just leave Newt in an asylum and Hicks in a bad state.

This is why I'm glad that they released that screenplay version of alien 3 that was never made, that is so much better than what we got, not going to say that the movie version of three was horrible, but I wish we had gotten that novel version instead that was just released.
Home how I missed this but I remember reading the Earth Hive adaptation and it's sequels. These would have made for some crazy movies *sigh*
I would love to see Queen Mother in an Alien movie she is really amazing character in the comics she cares for anyone in her side she also once allied with a human and Predator to save her species from dying Xenomorph Prime is beautiful olanet planet needs be explored
We’ve seen how Xenomorphs behave with emotions, like the first movie’s Xenomorph Drone toying with his prey and the Queen controlling the elevator, and going for Ripley and Newt specifically out of vengeance on her offspring, while Xenos that allied with humans is brand new.

The recordings are 4 years old. Its actually the first recordings I ever made. Audio levels were horrible and I've tried to remaster as best I can for people that wanted to see the comics!

Awesome video. I read the books and watched the movies as a kid and never knew Billie and Wilks were originally Newt and Hicks. Beyond that it was an awesome summary of the stories and great for me to hear as an adult seeing as how young I was when I read it all. The only thing I missed was the designations of the businessmen. In the books they were called Mr. Red and Mr. Green or something like that and it gave such a mysterious and sinister aura to there scenes.

They should of got some ideas from the comic books for some of the sequels , after aliens of course.
I remember collecting and reading these comics when I was 15 , it was such a bummer to have to wait for the next issue to hit the store.

Oh, cool. I actually just started reading the most recent set of Alien(s) books from Titan Books. Starting with _The Cold Forge._ I'm sad that I still don't have the first Aliens comics from Dark Horse. I started collecting them right when they came out, but sadly, I had to sell them when I went on walkabout in the 90s. 😕 There are some surprisingly good Alien universe stories that came out in both book and comic form. Well worth a look! 😎🤘

If I learned anything from movies involving governments/big companies trying to get a leg up in the bio weapons area of weaponry, it's usually with an op being/creature that after a bit says screw you to whoever is working on them and goes on a massive everyone must die mission. People in power never learn.
The Engineers do after their monument fatal errors with their black strain Xenomorph slave workers that can work in much wider extremes. Their brown strain cancels the errors in the previous strain and the Predators who failed at their job of extermination.

This is the adventure we deservedbafter Aliens. Alien 3 killing off Newt Hicks and Ripley was the biggest punch in the balls. This is my preferred continuation of Alien 2.
Hicks and Newt though traumatized still have each other.

Not that he lost is Squad, Hicks lost his ENTIRE unit. The WHOLE COMPANY. Not just his personal squad. Apparently all of them being wiped out. He never really was same after that. Should they EVER make anything like this in a live action they need to retcon Hicks an Newt having "died" in the original movie series. Just a few characters bringing up the topic an how the story of their having "died" when they didn't so their plot worked or something rather like that would be enough to do it... An fix the serious plot/franchise screw up in the movies of their absence in those said movies.
I read this on my phone back in 2016. Thy even released Terminator Omnibus and Predator Omnibus.

This is what the aliens video game should have been instead of fire team
Alien 3 was pictured to be a return to a horror atmosphere and a bleaker, darker setting so that's how they saw it fit for the time. When I was younger I didn't understand it and disliked it, but I watched it again recently and appreciated it for that. I really didn't like how Hicks and Newt were killed off screen either way. If you look into the Alien universe you will find stories that are far better for a sequel than Alien 3 and Resurrection (which was actually awful).
Aliens had the horror every Alien movie has horror in it.

Since we get to see Queen Mother and how she was friendly towards humans, Xenomorphs being sentient is nothing new as we’ve seen the first movie Xenomorph Drone toying with his prey, the Queen Xenomorph cared for her offspring, Redhead’s care towards his new mother inside Ripley, and the Newborn’s bond towards Ripley, so why not Xenomorphs allying with humans? Yes, these monsters had to impregnate or eat other species in order to survive, but regardless, they’re still sentient.

I also was incredibly upset that Gearbox couldn’t “Redeem” Pvt Hudson since he was only “Taken” in the last stand of Aliens.
This is a really good narration of the comics and I've enjoyed most of it. I've got a problem with how loud the suspenseful music is, it's so loud I can hardly hear him actually talking about what's going on over it.
