Very useful review. Saved me from throwing money away on these lights, as you confirmed my doubts. They’re too cheap, basically a toy. But I did get the light stands you recommended. I never heard of that brand before, they are well built (screws instead of riviera), and a great price. Thanks!

I think these lights are good for hiding behind things to produce color effect in the background. They have wide beam spread (120 degree) so only a short distance is needed to light a large area. Don't use the barn door because they create shadow banding due to the widely spaced LEDs. But in the background it is ok, especially if you blur the background. The downside of wide beam spread is they're no good as key light because the wide beam cause most of the light to spread out and be wasted unless you place the light very close.

3:40 the knob goes in 5% increments. So it was actually 5% .. if you want a true 1% lighting, you have to do it through the app. At least that’s how I get the 1%.
However, I do appreciate that you showed the dislikes about this product & didn’t just show all the likes. They are “budget” lights though, so...
I bought a dual lighting set of the 800’s for $190 & only use them in my studio. They work perfectly for what I need them to do. 🤙🏽
Yep, if you use the app you can dim it right down to 1% (they are barely on) and go up from there.

Will this do everything the bi-color lights do, plus more? Or if I mostly need just regular lighting, will I get a better quality and more light if I just go with the bi color light?
It’s not that I don’t need the RGB. I’m sure it’ll come in handy sometimes. I make music videos, so firstly, I want to make sure I have solid good lighting. Afterwards, the RGB addition sounds cool, but as long as it’s not taking away from my main lighting purpose.

I'm looking to improve my home streaming lighting with maybe 2 lights. This GVM 800D kit seems interesting. Maybe I could improve the diffusion a little better with a D-Fuse DF-1M kit. This brings me to around 238$ USD with the current sale but without any desk mounting kit. At that price, would there be any better alternative?

Whats with all reviews hating plastic, i have had my viltrox full plastic lights for 5 years and totally have no problem with them, they work find full time upto now.... this mentality has to change. What's having a metal build when the ices and the technology inside is shit.... ! I still dont understand this kind of thinking...
