    So California is building a 100,000,000,000,000,000 dollar high speed train to no where. When there are people living and pooping on the side walks in LA, SF, Sacramento, and other cities around the state.

    With more than forty million in population and urbanization trend, California will need high speed rail that's way more efficient than air plane. Mr. Brown understands California's future.

    Why did just 1 judge get to determine if the railroad was allow to sell bonds to help pay for high-speed rail; even though it was already approved by the voters of that state?!? - Something is fishy with that judgement.

    AMTRAK's long distance routes run primarily on a single freight track that supports two-way-traffic. Average speed is about 25mph over the length of the routes. AMTRAK service could more than halve its routes travel time if its routes had two sets of tracks to support travel in both direction without the need to stop & wait on side tracks to let on-coming-trains pass. Building out the routes with a second set of rails would have the added benefit of speeding freight trains and eliminate fuel used to constantly restart trains that have stopped to wait.

    I live in California it costs $100 round trip on southwest for LAX to San Jose or San Francisco and it takes one hour instead of three. Why don’t we use the money for California’s real problems. High speed rail is obsolete and this newscast used China as an example

I don't know how cheap it would be to do that either. Especially for no reason. The plan has always been to connect San Diego to high speed rail last.

They tore it out and soon after words they started the BART system, that was in the 60's here it is 2019 and they haven't completed what they promised and it cost a lot more today then when they started. Folks it's progress, and progress is not cheap. My first job in 1957 was 97 dollars every 2 weeks.

  • @derrickw3021

    The idea might sound good , but California does not need high speed rail . Money can be better spent modernizing existing rail transit systems and connecting them together i.e . BART , Caltrain , ACE , Amtrak , Metrolink with fewer stops and improved infrastructure . Much cheaper .

    • @MrGameutopia1
      @MrGameutopia1 Před 5 lety +2

      That may be a good idea, but I think that would be more expensive to do. We can modernize the rail, but those rails that may need to be modernize are very expensive, probably even more expensive than building new rail lines specifically for high speed bullet train. Rails and roads across our countries are probably so old that they are failing in some shape or form, like bridges falling apart, one brick at a time over period of time being used and supporting the weight of many vehicles during its life. If anything, I think the HSR is the better option.
