In this comprehensive review, we're unraveling the promise of a seamless stride against the backdrop of comfort quandaries. With the Summit VECTIV Pro under the spotlight, this review explores every nook and cranny of its design and performance on the trails. We'll venture through its sticky rubber outsole's grip on the wild trails, the carbon fiber plate's energy return on each stride, to the carbon fiber stability wings that, perhaps, flew too close to the sun.
Join me as I dissect the Summit VECTIV Pro's prowess and pitfalls, and gauge whether the speedster's promise holds or folds when the trail gets tough. Alongside, we're comparing its stance with trail giants like HOKA Tecton X 2, Nike Ultrafly, and Scott Ultra Carbon RC to give you a panorama of choices.
Whether you're a trail enthusiast eyeing your next race, or a casual runner scouting for a reliable companion on the trails, this review offers a real-world glimpse into what awaits with the Summit VECTIV Pro strapped on. I had the same problem but replaced the insole with a thicker foamy one fixed the issue on my last two 30k runs.
Unfortunately now I just cannot trust them for an Ultra because if the problem comes back after 40k or so itâs game over.
I love these shoes otherwise so it is frustrating. đšđŠ
So frustrating isnât it. I hear V2 may be better but Iâm yet to test themâŠ
I loved them at first.. i ran 14 miles. Initially I was impressed with the cushion and also how well they gripped on the trail. It started to rain and I tested them even on slippery rocks . I did feel the plate thing but I didnât blister. However second run in hot climate I ran 15 miles the other day and I felt like I was over heating and the last 7 miles I got a heel blister that ripped. I felt like I lost some of the stiffness of them as they broke in.. like they stretched. Iâm still impressed with cushioning however and my usual leg hip pain I have from old injury went away. I think I will try to bend the heel height that you suggested and maybe add an insole for the plates. Iâm not completely sure Iâll run an ultra in these yet.
Seems like such big oversights from the North Face team on those issues. When paying that much for a shoe you shouldnât have to modify it so heavily. I wouldnât risk an ultra in these
âŠI value my feet too much
Do you suggest another trail shoe similar to this cushion for ultra trail run?đ
@kimberlym.1746 well I love the Hoka Speedgoat series. Also the Hoka Tecton X2 is a great trail racing shoe đđŒ Speedgoat review here: czcams.com/video/Q-3k2uwlJqU/video.html and Tecton X2 review here: czcams.com/video/aRyzY2e4YY4/video.html ohh and another good one is the Arcâteryx Sylan: czcams.com/video/b7Kyuyz4bHQ/video.html
I canât believe that TheNorthFace would put out a premium shoe like this with such a major issue, Iâve only done two 10ks in my pair, as I fear any longer in them would seriously compromise my feet, in particular the stability wings, which began to irritate my feet within minutes. Fully intended to use them on an Ultra next year, but no way would I wear them now, and i know itâs not just me, shocking lack of development within NorthFace
It really surprised me too. I have to believe the next version much have ironed out most of these issues to have so many successful athletes finishing top three at the UTMB 100M and 100k races this year
please put a pair of altra insoles in them that fixes the biggest problem. Also please let other people know cutting the wings off seems mental.
I did mention cutting the wings out is a bad idea, and you really shouldnât have to do that..
@@trailandkale sorry replied in a hurry this morning did not really get my point across. your video was great and you did say that cutting wings off was bad. my comment was more to get the fact that the bigger insoles fixed the wing problem. Some of your videos have really helped me so I just wanted to give something back.
@kellydoug8817 thank you! :) appreciate the comment and your input!! Keep them coming please! đđ»
Muchas gracias por el consejo!!! Puse una plantilla mas y funciona đ
@SuperMarishka1 youâre welcome!
Vectiv Pro vs Tecton X 2?
Tecton X 2 every day of the week
The V2 is out and it doesn't look any different to the first version unfortunately.
Oh man I hope thatâs not the case! Iâll have to try and get hold of a pair to see
Got no issues with mine. Love my Vectiv 2 shoes. I do pretend ultras training for 12 hours. Love em.
Thatâs awesome to hear! Canât wait to try them out
