    I just picked these up. I'm a muscular guy who likes to put in the miles as well. These shoes are like running on a cloud and propel you forward better any other shoe I've tried. I'm not normally a big Hoka guy but these have truly impressed me. You don't feel the weight because of the forward propulsion. I use these for longer runs to lesson the stress on the joints, though I can just as easily go up tempo at 5-10kms. I do prefer my Endorphin Speed 3s for faster up tempo track work but I'm a sprinter and this is usually when I'm working 400 meter sprints or running ladders. I thought about picking up a pair of Takumi Sen 10s as well but I'm not sure there is enough cushion there compared to my Endorphins. Either way, very impressed with these shoes. It's the best Hoka I've ran in.

      That’s awesome to hear! I totally agree with all of that too - the spring in them makes them feel a lot lighter! Oh and the endorphin Speed is also an epic shoe! Recently reviewed the Speed 4 and it really impressed me!

      And wide ‘toolboxes’ are great for oversized hammers and saws 🪚 😝

    The Skyward X is my favorite running shoe currently. I have put over 900 miles on multiple pairs of superblasts and haven't looked back after picking the skyward up. Most comfortable shoe hands down.

    I normally wear wide Hoka but really wanted these. I went .5 a size bigger which has helped. Ive onky done 15 miles in mine so far and mainly using them for threshold and temp runs and have fiund them really nice shoes. I also have Clifton 8, Speedgoat 5, Rincon 3, Bondi 8 and Kawana but these are the comfiest.

    I suffer from ITB syndrome. I'm wearing the GT-2000 12 as I have flat feet and overpronate. I tried the Asics Superblast, and it gave me ITB tendinitis in my right knee. Some say that a low drop shoe would be better. Since the Skward X has 5mm drop, would this be a better choice? thanks in advance.

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před měsícem

      Yes, and I agree - a low drop is always better where possible. I think you’ll love the Skyward X

    Sir, Could you please compare with Bondi 8? I am considering to buy the Skyward X not for running but for my injured foot, Bondi 8 is a good choice for foot injury, not sure with Skyward X. I had tried March X, it was not good for me. I am looking for some type similar as Bondi 8 for daily walking.

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před měsícem

      Have you tried the Clifton 9? It’s a great option for walking. The Skyward X has a carbon fiber plate, so not the best option for walking. You could try it though!

    Hoka Skyward x or Asics Superblast for the kinda do everything shoe?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před měsícem

      Such a close call between these two! I love them both but I think it’s the drop that could be the decider for many. 5mm on the Skyward x and 8mm on the Superblast (I prefer the lower drop) - but then again I prefer the lighter geometry of the superblast.. if I had to pick 1 I’d probably go for the superblast.

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před měsícem +1

      But it’s a crazy close call

    Would you say these are similar to On’s Cloud Eclipse? If so, which do you prefer?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před měsícem +1

      I’d say they’re closer to the cloudmonster Hyper. And that’s a really close call but I think the Skyward X narrowly wins it.

    Toe box is roomy but not for wide feet? “Roomy” sounds like there’s more room.

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Wide feet extend across the whole length of the foot. A wide toe box is great for those who like toe splay when running (or have wide toes).

      Thanks for sharing! Good to know sizing up a half size caters well to wide feet!
